Oh WOW! :( My prayers go out to her, her family, and even all her Kappa Sisters. Losing someone that tragically is tough, my cousin Andrea died of injuries substained from a car crash about a month or 2 ago.

I hope they catch the cowardly bastard who ran off.

My condolonces go out to her family, friends and Kappa Sisters

The loss of one of my Kappa sisters is tragic... I always read about things like this happening, but never Kappa. My prayers to her family and sisters in Delta chapter...

I hope they find the insenstive person who carelessly drove away and bring Ashley justice.

God bless and comfort those who stopped to help. May the memories they have of their good deed outweigh and overshadow the memories they have of the injuries they treated.

What a lovely sentiment!

My most sincere sympathies to the family of Ashley Crouse, the families of the other victims, and to all of Ashley's Kappa sisters. I cannot even begin to imagine having to look at that tree every day, and remember her.

Her brother is an Initiate of the Lambda Chi Alpha chapter at Ball State Univeristy and was a new member with my fellow advisor (he's a ball state grad). We were discussing what brotherhood means at tonights meeting and he brought up that her brother called him at 1am to tell him. They both had a cry on the phone together about it. How even though they hadnt seen each other in two years, during the time of tragedy, you call on your brothers.

So sad. My thoughts and wishes are with them. Small worrld where something like this can touch a chapter down here in Texas. Regardless of whats been said elsewhere, were all a lot closer to each other than we might think.

A few of the girls in my sorority went to high school with Ashely.... its definitely affected people and is so horrible.

The good thing is that at least people stopped and tried to help. That kind of reminds you that there are decent people in the world.

If you go back to the same link today, there is an article about the Greek walk they did in her honor last night. I thought that was a very cool and moving tribute.

I can't even imagine what her sisters and family is going through, let alone her boyfriend and friend who were in the car. My niece is Greek at IU and this really hit me hard. My thoughts and prayers to all the Kappas and Ashley's family.

I was so touched by the greek community here at IU. Everyone wore their letters yesterday, and I saw the walk to the Kappa house. Literally I would say there was over 1,000 walking to the house. This is Little 500 week, and now there is an eery quietness on campus. I don't believe the man was caught yet, but I'll update if I hear any news.

My prayers are with her family and friends. :(

My deepest condolences to her family, her friends and her Kappa Sisters.

That is so sad! My thoughts are with her family and sisters...

One of the junior year AGD sisters up at Gamma Beta/FSU died in a car accident last month. At the most horrible time too, during Spring Break!! It was that Monday at the beginning of SB, even though her funeral was on that Saturday, hardly any sisters were able to be back in town early enough to attend! =( So they all ended up doing a Rememberance thing the following week when everyone was back in town from SB.

Oh I didn' t know that!! :(

It's sooo sad when someone is killed so needlessly. I do hope that the driver is caught and prosecuted to the fullest extend!

I have read several articles about this and they are finding more and more things out about this accident. First, Ashley was a passenger and the Jeep she was in was hit on the driver second. Second, they have found that the man who left the scene of the crime actually had the right-of-way. Not that this information makes the accident any less sad.

If you go to the school paper at www.idsnews.com and click on "Remembering Together," they show some great pictures of how the students are coming together after this tragic loss.

Yep, the one article I read pointed all of this out (it sounded as if she could have been in the back seat, thus she still could have been sitting on the driver's side.) But when I read which vehicle had the right of way it made me wonder even more why that driver left the scene. Alcohol, drugs, here illegally????

Just letting you know that the suspect in the hit and run was caught. After the accident he fled to Delaware and was using a fake name. More info can be found at http://www.idsnews.com/subsite/.
