Buying a web domain name

So I want to buy one but it's owned by someone else. It says they only own it for a short while more. Is there any way I can quickly buy this thing? I don't care if anyone has any shady methods...I want it.

Try contacting the people that already own it and see if they'll sell it to you now.

do you want it to be specifically a .com

can you do .net .biz or something like that?

I would except I'm hoping that if I don't bring attention to it, they might not renew it or something.

They're all taken except for .biz and the weird country designations. That sounds too bootleg. I want .com :( .

You could try contacting the registrary and putting in a "snap" offer for the date.

Once a domain "expires" it is disabled by the registrar, but not released for 90 days after that. So the owner has the chance to redeem it during that hold time.

(I am a domain reseller for TwoCows)

About the only thing you can do is keep a close watch on the WHOIS database for the domain you want. It will list the expiration date for the domain. Assuming they don't renew (and I believe there is a lag between expiration and when you can buy it), you can reserve the domain for yourself.

How do I put in the snap offer?

Do I wait until expiration to do it?

Will the reseller inform the current owner and get some bid war started?

And Rob, it's not porn. Everyone I've mentioned this to said the same thing. The last thing I need right now is explaining to my mother why I make so much money off of poontang right now (explaining to your mom is a lot easier btw).

Sorry Rudey, kazodiass.com is not for sale. When kazo comes back up, you can read the letter Shannon wrote to the last person asking to by kazo.

Rudey, pull head out of rectum. The only way you will get a Domain Name if owned is pay through the nose.

I wasnt notified when My Store Business went for renewal and someone jumped on it.

Said screw it, I let the web site go defunct too.

EGO is a terrible thing lost on the young.

If you weren't informed, it is because when it was registered, your email was not listed as the admin contact. That fault lies with the domain registrar you used. The admin contact is automatically notified by email when the domains come up for renewal at 30 days, 15 days and 5 days.
