Atlanta GCers- Let's Meet!
 

I'll be moving to the ATL on May 1 which is a cause for celebration. :) We need to have an Atlanta GC meet up sometime that month (or the next). I guess everyone can write down the weekends that they're available and then whatever weekend has the majority available will be our meet up day!

I'm available every weekend in May except the first weekend (my friend is moving up there that weekend so I'm helping her unpack).

I hope this works because the Florida GC get-togethers always fell through.

Well, I can't come the seventh (oldest gets a master's that day!) or Memorial Day Weekend. Everything else is possible!

Memorial day weekend is bad and so is June 24th-26 but I don't see any other conflicts.

I can't do the weekend of May 13th, cause I'll be graduating :p

That leaves the weekend of May 21st that everyone seems to have open.

I vote North Atlanta also because it's the only area I'm familiar with as of now. :) Maybe somewhere on Barrett Parkway?

Oh yay for Barrett, it's easy to get to. We did one get-together there at Bahama Breeze! I can't think of the names of anything else there except the Varsity--anybody know any good places?

I wish I could meet ya'll (I'm not too far away--Bham) but I've got to perform on the 21st.....ya'll have fun!!!

There's a bunch of places there. On the Border, Macaroni Grill, Friday's, Chili's (I think there's one), Joe's Crab Shack, Olive Garden, Melting Pot (ha!), and a whole bunch more that I can't think of off the top of my head.

I know Barrett well. Ippilitos is a good italian restaurant for lunch and Provino's is a good italian for dinner if anyone is interested in italian. Of course there is a fudruckers, applebees, and a taco mac real close as well.

I think I can try to swing the 21st of May as well. I've been looking for a reason to get over that way.

I'll be home in Iowa that weekend. May weekends are bad for me. I appologize. :(

I might be able to swing out that way...Barrett Parkway is where I spent ALL of my high school weekends... :) My brother is graduating that weekend, though. So I guess it just depends on the day. Let me know if it's actually happening.

I think that I can. The 22nd is our anniv but I don't think hubby has his work schedule yet.

We've been to Barrett Pkwy a few times lately...bought a new table and futon couch from the Home Store.

I know Sweet Tomatoes is there but that might be too small/crowded and I figure some may want something to drink besides tea.

The 21st is a Saturday--do y'all want to make it that afternoon?

IMO, I think afternoon would be better. That will allow those of us a little further away to have the driving time.

Hmmm...have to see where I can spend the night that night as well.

Olive Garden off of Barrett Parkway say about 2pm on Saturday May 21st?

For people coming south on 75 you would turn left off the Barrett Pkwy exit. For people coming north on 75 your would turn right. Olive Garden is on the side opposite towncenter mall. So when when you take your turn off the exit make sure you are in the right side lane.

2pm on the 21st at Olive Garden sounds good to me. Oh, can I bring Mr. ZTAngel? He's not on Greekchat but he is greek (Kappa Sig) so I guess that's acceptable. ;)

I'm getting excited about this! :) I'll see how many Greek daughters I can bring--right now it looks like maybe 3 out of 4.

Sure we can wear our letters!!:D :D Mine are almost the Italian colors;)

heh....my letters are in storage in my parents' attic. I do have my lavalier still, though.

Actually, I was thinking Taco Mac might be more fun!

Lynn, I guess we did get a little loud the first time we met. :D And remember all the looks we got from the younger people--hey, get a load of those women in LETTERS!!!

Ok, since this meeting is almost 2 weeks away (May 21), let's get a head count of who will be going. :) Me!!!!!

Have we decided on a place yet? I think it was between Olive Garden or Taco Mac. Also, are we wearing letters? My jersey is at my parents' house and although Mr. ZTAngel has his jersey, he refuses to wear it to lunch that day because he says, "That's dorky." :rolleyes:

I don't care which place. I would tend to agree with Mr. ZTAngel I never owned a jersey. I wouldn't mind wearing letters though, just on a t-shirt.

On second thought....some of y'all might want to drink beer etc so wearing jersey's aren't a good idea...so..if we meet at OG, I'll wear mine...if TM, I won't.

How will we know each other without jerseys?

Are we definitely meeting at Taco Mac? Is it on the opposite side of Barrett from Town Center?

Taco Mac sounds good. I'm not sure where it is, though, so somebody will need to explain where it is in Barrett.

As for recognizing each other since we won't have letters (I'll be drinking so I can't wear them), I guess we could all meet outside.

I'll see you all at 2pm next Saturday! (someone remember to bring a camera!!!!!!!!!!)

I may have one or more of these daughters, I have no clue what their schedules are like: ASLFRose, BlazerCheer, Ballerina, and/or Baby Berry. Maybe the one who's graduating from high school that day, Starry Night.

Everything for us that day depends on the post-graduation schedule--I bet our daughter will just want to take off with her buddies but we'll see. If I don't show up, that's why!

I am still game. Taco mac is on earnest barrett the street right next to the mall other than Barrett.

Earnest Barrett is a main drag that you get on to from Barrett that is right next to the mall just like Barrett is right next to the mall. Make more sence? But I am sure you can find it since it is close to the amll and off of Barrett.

sorry to crash y'all's thread but can I join the lunch meeting also? I have that Saturday free ( until 4 then have to drive back for work at 6 pm ) and would like to meet some GCers on here.

I was going to try to organize a Chattanooga meeting but I think I am the only one from Chattanooga on Greek Chat. LOL.

Just to confirm: Taco Mac on Earnest Barrett Parkway is the location for the meeting.
