Wait (The Whisper Song)

o.k. I was listening to the radio in my car the other day and I I heard this song with some guy whispering. I thought WTF! and turned up becuase I couldn't figure out what the hell he was saying. I thought it was a spoof song by one of the D.J.'s.
I'll be damned G.C. the ish is real. This is too much. The line needs to be drawn somewhere.

Is it that serious? Why did the Ying Yang twins have to make a song about their D*ck!? Why are they playing this crap on the radio? I don't care anything about your little "toddler penis" (Barbershop 2) Has anyone else heard this stupid A$$ song.

As you all can probably tell, I'm just a tad bit disgusted!

SOME THINGS JUST DO NOT NEED TO BE POSTED ON GC!! I am too disgusted that you posted the lyrics to this foul song. RESPECT THIS FORUM.

yes, I've heard it and CAN'T STAND IT:mad:  I can't believe they play this song in broad daylight, like lil' ones aren't listening to the radio. And if you think the whispering part is bad on the radio..don't listen to the unedited version:o :o

TOO LATE!! One of the kids at work hipped me to it and I listened to it on the computer later that day. Needless to say, I was throughly disgusted.

Don't post lyrics on GC if they contain ANY offensive lyrics. Please use your COMMON SENSE

smlwonderdst 03-14-2005 05:29 PM

Yes I have heard that mess and I change the station whenever it comes on. I must be getting old because there is only so much hip hop I can take whether it is whispered or spoken out loud.

NUPE4LIFE 03-14-2005 05:38 PM

That's my jam right there. The beat is what got me. I know it was a sexual song but I never really heard the lyrics because of the whisper. This doesn't change my opinion of the song. I won't go out and by their album but if I'm in the club or it comes on the radio I'm gonna jam to it.

I'm sorry, but I would never even nod my head to this garbage. I've never even heard the song, but I was unprivileged enough to read the lyrics here before they were deleted. This is just taking it too far and it's about time that we, as college educated, supposed role models for the next generation, take a stand. There is nothing sexual about this song. Those lyrics are straight perverse and degrading. Or is that what we want to teach our little girls?; That sex is perverse and degrading? Or is it that we want to teach our little boys that they should treat women as b*tches and "beat da ***** up"? We've reached a sad, sad point, people when all we care about is the beat.

Nupe4Life, do you have children or work with children? Do you have sisters? How would you feel if you heard them singing this song? What if you found out this song was written about one of your sisters or any other woman in your life? I'm seriously not trying to judge you, but I'm curious as to why your opinion of the song hasn't changed after hearing such vile lyrics.

The intent was not to disrespect the forum nor was it to be offensive. I only posted the lyrics so that the readers would see exactly what I was referring to. I don't appologize for posting the lyrics. On the other hand, I do appologize if anyone was offended. I suppose that I could have gone through and censored the profanity and explicit lyrics. However, in my opinion, the bite and disgrace of the song is removed when it is camouflaged. That is just MY OPINION though. You are the moderator and your decision is final. So that's that! :)

ykimber 03-14-2005 08:10 PM

For people like me who have not heard the song here is a link

http://www.musicremedy.com/audio/ind...o&AudioId=2667

I can say the beat it tight however all the B*&^ and vulgarity really turned me off!

You posted that the song was offensive, wasn't that enough? Evidently if you find the song to be offensive, posting the lyrics would be JUST AS BAD. If the people who had not heard the song, such as myself, cared enough to know exactly what the song's lyrics are, they can google it or search the lyrics on any of the internet's lyrics sites.

If you read the forum's guidelines, it states no profanity. We make allowances for the occasional damn and hell but anything beyond that by anyone for any reason IS NOT TOLERATED. It is not about opinion, it is about the guidelines set not just by me but by the site administrator.

Steeltrap 03-14-2005 09:36 PM

I'm not surprised that the Diseased Twins would make a song about their male appendage. They and their running mate Lil' STD (bka Lil' Jon) don't impress me as the classiest rappers around.
 :p

Ha! LOL. Leave it to the first man to post to say that that's his jam. But you guys have to admit that the beat is nice...just those words that are apparently a little rough.

Wonderful1908 03-14-2005 11:16 PM

I like the beat, and since until now I really wasn't listening to the words I liked the song. I wouldn't but it but i'd listen to the radio version. I'm not offended by the song because its the..... Ying Yang Twins, why would anything the manufacture be serious? :p

RBL 03-14-2005 11:48 PM

That song aint nothing.... I was     when I heard the "real" version of Trillville's Some Cut:eek:  ......

MaMaBuddha 03-15-2005 05:00 AM

i actually like it.

beat is hot. i've heard worse songs.

Your not the only one that song was ughhhhhhhh whoa. But, I still like Some Cut the radio version.

Wait has a hot beat, interesting concept and I'm glad they didn't say "Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa" through out the song. As for the lyrics I can't hear them anyway because they are whispering.

But I like Trina, Jackie-0, and Luke. Oh well

Now THAT song made me blush. I had only heard the clean version on the radio and when I downloaded it (I spend my money wisely), I was  .

The beat for "Wait" is good. But like everyone else I could barely understand what they were saying. I have heard worse.

smlwonderdst 03-15-2005 12:29 PM

Yes the beat is nice and the whispering concept is different, kinda cute. But, those lyrics ... ... Given that I listen to the whole song (beat & lyrics), I can't do this song. Also, most of the time my 5 year old is riding with me. I can't have him listening to stuff like that.

Conskeeted7 03-15-2005 02:16 PM

I don't know what the real version of the song is about. The edited version just sounds like it's saying "Wait til I give you this" over and over again.

Now, when "some cut" first came out, they accidentally played the real version and I was utterly disgusted.

I think it's very misleading to play such distorted versions on the air. A person might go buy the album not knowing that it is about such vulgar material. Yeah there's a parental sticker, but those are used for a number of reasons. I'd rather them not play that on the radio at all...edited or not. Some young people pay more attention than I do and probably know full well what the song is about. That's disturbing.

SummerChild 03-15-2005 08:00 PM

Soror, although it will be inconvenient, you can always take the cd back, even if you have already opened it. Just let them know that you didn't realize that the lyrics were different from the lyrics that you heard. I did that with the Outkast? cd after I turned it on and heard all that foul language and they took the cd right back. I told them why I was bringing it back and the fact that I could only know what I know after having opened it so they understood.

Eeew and can you imagine if one of those nasty twins came up to you in the club and whispered in your ear??? He'd catch an elbow.

MaMaBuddha 03-16-2005 03:16 PM

Funny story...When Big Pun first came out with the song that Joe was singing on, we loved it. I even turned it up with my mom in the car and she was jamming too. She said "I like that beat and he's turning down being a player...that's a good guy." So, we go and buy the album and pop it in when we get back to the car. As soon as the cussing started, my mama grabbed the tape, rolled down the window, and threw it out onto the expressway. I don't think my brother and I have laughed so hard in our lives. We really didn't know the lyrics were. My mother was VERY disappointed...LOL

LMAO!

I like "wait". At first I was  by the lyrics. But like others have said, I've heard worse and I like the beat. It gets a lot of radio play down here. That reminds me..."Wait til you see my *&^%" should go in the "Worst Pick-up Lines" Thread.

Those twins are crazy.

That's all I'm going to say...

(but the hook sure is catchy...)

The Truth 03-18-2005 12:39 PM

I hope none of yall ever hear "Gimme Dat" By Lil Boosie and Weebie!!!! If yall catchin feelins over "Wait". Ying Yang ain't got nothin on Boosie and Weebie!!!

aurora_borealis 03-18-2005 11:21 PM

I'd be worried about catching an ear infection if either of these creeps whispered in my ear.

Ten/Four 03-19-2005 07:46 PM

After viewing this thread I finally heard the song. I'm still trying to figure out of this became a single for radio. I don't want to even imagine the video. I'm sure it will become a hit on BET's "Uncut."

gamma_girl52 03-22-2005 11:30 AM

Ok, so I finally heard the unedited "Wait" and I was like, *sigh*...
I was conflicted. While my brain was telling me, "This song is nasty as all hell..." I was steadily whispering, "Bam bam bam bam...." to the beat...

Somebody said "Gimme Dat"...WHOO LAWD. Ya'll ain't ready to hear THAT one either...they just started giving it play in Atlanta but I heard it before then. How are you just gonna make a song DEMANDING that I give you some?

I understand completely. I don't like what "Gimmie Dat" says but I can't help but like the beat. It's like one part of me is saying, "this song is degrading and how dare they demand that" and then the other part is saying " gimme dat......." I haven't heard the whisper song. I think it was on the radio when I was driving back to school but I wasn't paying attention.

Highm8ness1 03-24-2005 02:19 AM

When I first heard the song, I also like Lawd have mercy. Then it kind of grew on me. I hope they do not make a video to it. It's the beat y'all. It's the beat. This is to be expected of Ying Yang. I wouldn't buy it either, but the music have your head bobbin.

rho4life 03-25-2005 05:04 PM

I love the song, but I don't want to see their thing. :(

preciousjeni 03-25-2005 05:35 PM

Ok - I don't listen to the radio too much these days so I went to find this song online. It sounds just like anything 5th Ward Boys puts out. It seems like all these rappers are trying to outdo each other in graphic lyrics. What more can they say?

Anway, it sounds like something my ex would have written. I'm sure he's down there in GA bumpin this song. And, I have a weakness for music already? Shoooot! But now that I'm trying to get into Christian ministry, this is NOT what I need to hear.

That is the truth that it seems that they are all trying to outdo each other. Really, to me, it seems like everything on the radio is basically getting more and more graphic, even the R&B stuff. It's all about whether you cheated, got cheated on, want to sex someone, got sexed by someone, got your man taken, going to take someone's man. It's a mess. LOL SMH. Why listen?
