Pittsburgh GreekChat Gathering, Part 4?

Hey Honey, Dani, Sheila, Cheyenne and any other P'burg area Greekchatters - I'm going to be in town from the 22nd to the 26th of this month. Anyone up for a get-together?

moe.ron 03-09-2005 10:30 AM

I'll be there. If I start rowing now, I'll make it for the 25th.

PhoenixAzul 03-09-2005 11:06 AM

I may be there. I start break on the 14th. I have to come back to OC for crew practice but I'm not sure when :) But I'd love to meet you all, maybe have some Chinese and impart some wisdom on my young mind.

kddani 03-09-2005 11:24 AM

You know i'm always up for it!

cashmoney 03-09-2005 11:35 AM

U guys oughtta get DGqueen17 to come around. :p

33girl 03-09-2005 12:07 PM

TRACY I AM SO READY TO DRINK WITH YOU.

I'll probably go to my dad's on Friday but I have that day off from work so Thursday would rock. Unless it doesn't suit for everyone else, of course.

honeychile 03-09-2005 12:16 PM

I AM SO IN!!!!!!!!!!

In fact, I'm so in, I think I'll start doing elbow bending exercises now!! :D

kddani 03-09-2005 12:21 PM

The only day that's bad for me is Wednesday, might have some networking thing for jobs that day

fire1977 03-09-2005 01:56 PM

If I'm in town, I'm in!

KillarneyRose 03-10-2005 04:22 PM

Sheila: Unfortunately, Thursday doesn't work for me due to babysitting issues. :( What about Tuesday? Anyone else?

Arya: If you can just row to the Chesapeake Bay, I can give you a lift the rest of the way :)

Dani/Cheyenne: Honey and I were wondering if either of you have Amos Hall connections so we can sneak in and visit the old suites??

I can do Tuesday after like 5:50, that shouldn't be a problem, and i'll already be in Oakland

And no, no Amos Hall connections for me :(

fire1977 03-10-2005 04:30 PM

It depends I'd have to see!

BTW: Greek week blood drive is supposed to be that week. They've been doing it in the lower lounge of the student union lately and I think it usually goes until 7pm. If you have time go and give for your house!

honeychile 03-10-2005 04:38 PM

I'll give blood if we can do a Geriatric Suite Tour! :D

I have to know 2 days ahead of time, though, due to a med I take. Oh, and Tuesday is good for me. I'll MAKE it good for me!!

33girl 03-10-2005 06:02 PM

Tuesday would be fine :)

fire1977 03-11-2005 06:15 PM

Name your poison. Did we pick where we are going yet?

KillarneyRose 03-11-2005 09:04 PM

Any place where we can get a bite to eat and a li'l drinky-drinky is fine with me. I'm not as familiar with Oakland these days as you young whippershappers, so maybe one of you could pick a place?

I'd be happy to give blood if they're doing the blood drive the day we get together. I'm trying to remember if it's been a year since I got my last tattoo; I think it has, so I should be good to go.

Do you think the Navy is going to appreciate somebody rowing into a naval base?

PhoenixAzul 03-15-2005 10:55 AM

Anyone feel like mexican? There's Mad Mex (with a bar for you 21+) and burritos for the rest of us. It's on...Atwood I believe.

I would say no to Mad Mex b/c it's so small and usually crowded...

kddani 03-15-2005 11:28 AM

where's PGHLady been, she should join us! ;)

KillarneyRose 03-15-2005 11:31 AM

That place we went last time was good; can't remember the name. It was on Forbes.

33girl 03-15-2005 12:16 PM

I think we should just go to Primanti's.

Mad Mex food is awesome, but you can't converse because the music is so loud.

*just wiped out another monitor!!*

Does the Primanti's in Oakland have the same ambience as the one in the Strip District? I've never been...

And I've never been to the one in the strip, so I couldn't compare the two.

Sheila?

A little off-topic, but not much:

Are any of you ladies going to the Panhellenic Luncheon on April 2nd? I'm going, but I think there's only about 7-8 ADPis going.

Totally forgot about it. I've never made it to one of those. It always interfered with various stuff... glad to see that since Easter got in the way this year they moved it.

But since we don't have an active AA now at all I hadn't even heard about it. Though I occassionally still get Pgh Panhel emails....

33girl 03-15-2005 02:15 PM

The one in Oakland used to have a HOT HOT MAN working there.

They are both fun and festive places, as is the one on the South Side. I've never been to any of those suburban Primanti's though....there's just something not right about that.

You are absolutely right. There's now a Primanti's in Harmarville, maybe 3 or 4 miles from my mom's house and I can't stand it. I don't know what it is; maybe it's the wholesome suburban teenagers working there or the abundance of parking or knowing that I probably won't be mugged while I'm walking to my car but it's definitely not the Primanti's I know and love.

My thought is if you're not willing to deal with driving into the city to get your cheesesteak, then you're not worthy. Ha, so there :)

kddani 03-15-2005 02:40 PM

One problem if we were to go to Primanti's, they have much less selection of the drinky-drinks... Just beer and possibly Mike's Hard Lemonade or something like that.

honeychile 03-15-2005 02:58 PM

I liked the semi-private room at Qdoba. The only other places I can even think of are the ones next to the O. I'd say the O, but that's beer only, too.

fire1977 03-15-2005 05:25 PM

There's always Hemmy's and/or Joe Mama's.

I would love primanti's though too. I've been to most of them (outside of the one in Florida!) because of work- I think the Oakland one is pretty nice as far as the city ones go.

PhoenixAzul 03-15-2005 05:40 PM

Joe Mama's is EXCELLENT

kddani 03-15-2005 06:03 PM

I wouldn't mind Hemmingways, and on a Tuesday night it shouldn't be too bad.

I'm not a fan of Joe Mama's.... the food is not all that good. And it's not hard to make decent Italian food but they just don't, IMO :)

For those of you not familiar, Joe Mama's is more of a restaurant than a bar. Hemmingways is equal parts bar and restaurant

33girl 03-15-2005 06:31 PM

I've never been in Hemmingway's, that's a thought.

Joe Mama's used to be awesome, but the last time I was there they had cut the menu in half, hardly even had much choice of food that was Italian and what we did get was not up to standard.

KillarneyRose 03-17-2005 05:07 PM

So, it looks like we have Tuesday, March 22nd at Hemingway's. Is that okay for everyone? What time is good? I was thinking 6ish; how's that?

*bump*

6ish is good for me. What time is good for everyone else?

If for some reason we don't want to officially start until later than 6, like 7 or whatever, I will still be available and looking for someone to hang out with during that hour b/c or else i'll just be sitting around across the street in the law school waiting!

33girl 03-18-2005 01:02 PM

6 is fine, I'm there.
