Upcoming Expansions

Hello Ladies-
I'm just wondering if there are any expansions coming up this year for our sorority. I noticed that we presented at Emory last week. I can't wait to hear the outcome of those presentations.
Does anyone know of any other schools we're thinking of expanding into?
Thanks.

SmartBlondeGPhB 03-06-2005 01:34 AM

There are others yes. I'm not sure if they are public knowledge at this time though so I'm not going to say anything.

AAgammagirl 03-06-2005 03:21 PM

ok, i thought maybe people wouldn't be able to post regarding upcoming expansions but i wasn't sure.
well, good luck to the presentation team wherever they may be!
:)

SmartBlondeGPhB 03-07-2005 01:10 AM

I'm really not sure either, so I'm erring on the side of mouth shut...:D

Emory! OMG that would be awesome.

So would UF.

Also recolonizations at LSU, Vandy, UT....but those take time.

By the way, I'm back from my GC sabbatical.

Sorry to crash your board, but when I read this I just HAD to say something! My mom was a GPhiB at UT and I currently attend LSU (and we need another sorority desparately!). It would be so awesome if a recolonization could happen at LSU! My mom would be so excited if I could become one too!

I just realized that you're probably talking about UTenn, not UTexas where my mom went. (My mom showed me their chapter house and you could tell 30 years later that it used to be a GPhiB house! I'll explain if no one knows what I'm talking about...)

GPhiBZS 04-22-2005 01:08 AM

Aww yay.. I'm so excited about the Emory expansion.. maybe Zeta Sigma can help out.. that would be fun!!

Love in IIKE,
Chaunte'

Yes, I was talking about UTenn, but UTexas would be just as awesome! (c;

Today we are presenting at a school that shall remain unnamed so everyone think good thoughts for our Collegiate Extension Team.......:D

FloridaTish 06-03-2005 04:24 PM

Best wishes to you and your new expansion possibilities! :)

tinydancer 06-03-2005 09:10 PM

Keeping my fingers crossed!:)

kk_bama 06-04-2005 02:45 AM

Oh how super awesome! Awesomeawesome.

I want to help out with the Emory expansion. I just joined the Atlanta alum chapter, so I guess I can find out what I can do through them. (c:

tinydancer 06-05-2005 06:56 PM

Melanie, do you know when the decision will be made? Do you know who else was presenting?
(full of questions today, huh)

SmartBlondeGPhB 06-06-2005 03:24 PM

Sorry, no idea. I haven't even heard how we did......

tinydancer 06-06-2005 09:32 PM

No prob. I'll keep my ear to the ground.
;)

In case some of you don't get the email correspondence from IH.

"An extension presentation is scheduled at the University of Arkansas – Fort Smith at the end of February."

I believe we are presenting for a new chapter come Fall 06...Correct me if I'm wrong, please.

SmartBlondeGPhB 05-15-2006 01:58 PM

According to the newsest NPC Bulletin, Gamma Phi and Delta Gamma were chosen to colonize at the University of Arkansas, Fort Smith in 2007. :D

GPhiBZS 06-14-2006 11:01 AM

That's real exciting!! Congratulations to Gamma Phi!!! I'm glad to see that we are just continuing to expand!!

LaneSig 02-15-2007 12:21 PM

Excuse my crash, but I wanted to congratulate Gamma Phi Beta on how well recruitment went at the new system, University of Arkansas - Fort Smith.http://www.uafortsmith.edu/News/Inde...=&storyid=1668

One of the new recruits, Ashleigh Painter, was recently named Miss UAFS.

http://www.uafortsmith.edu/News/Inde...=&storyid=1665

Again, congratulations.

I was thinking the same thing! Very cute!

Is Gamma Phi making a special effort to expand more in the south? I notice that a lot of our newer chapters seem to be in that region. (TAMU, USC, Texas-Tyler, UAFS)

tinydancer 02-15-2007 10:33 PM

Just found out that Gamma Phi is presenting at TCU - I think next week! I need to do a little more detective work. Are alums allowed to go to the presentations? I'd like to if I can.

AAgammagirl 02-16-2007 12:28 AM

Where's TCU? and what other groups are presenting?
Thanks.

PeppyGPhiB 02-16-2007 01:39 AM

TCU is Texas Christian University, right? Someone in another thread referred to TCU as Trinity Christian U., but I don't think that's correct...?

tinydancer 02-16-2007 02:44 PM

TCU is in Fort Worth. Gamma Phi, Delta Zeta, and Alpha Phi will be presenting. Alpha Phi had a chapter there that closed back in the 80s, I think. I got an email yesterday about a meeting here for the alums to meet with the International President about the possibilities of us going to TCU. I am excited and I will definitely be there!!

That's awesome...

I just read the article and noticed that there's a new G Phi B member from California at UAFS ("Banning, Calif.: Samantha Johnson, Gamma Phi Beta."), she's from 30 minutes away from my mom's house. :-)

tinydancer 02-26-2007 01:15 PM

We are presenting TODAY to become the 11th sorority at TCU! Yesterday, Fort Worth area alums met with our International President to discuss what will be involved if we are chosen. We are the last to present (Delta Zeta and Alpha Phi have already done theirs) and I think we have a very good chance. We had about 40 people at the meeting, which I think is a great turn-out.

I saw that in another thread. That is VERY cool for both a potential new collegiate chapter AND an ability to add excitement to an alumnae chapter.:D

Sorry to crash! I wanted to add that Gamma Phi also has a new chapter (Zeta Tau) at Emory University in Atlanta. Congrats!! They are very nice girls.

Oops, yes, we do. I hear they've done well!

Fingers are crossed for TCU!

Alumnae Chapter/Crescent Circle Potential Expansions

It just dawned on me that I should include these expansions as well. They aren't as exciting but they are important for us. :D

We are actively pursuing:

Asheville, NC
Paris, TN
Chattanooga, TN
Ottawa, ON
Pocatello, ID
Ft Smith, AR
NW AR
Miami, FL
Macon, GA
Modesto, CA
Portland, ME
Bowling Green, OH (we are looking for a leader if you know anyone)
Ft Walton Beach, FL

And other areas as well that aren't quite as active.

We are always looking for more areas if you, or anyone you know, is interested in getting involved. It can be very rewarding. :D

tinydancer 03-01-2007 01:36 PM

I'm just on pins and needles here. The vote at TCU has been taken, and we could have the official word as early as Friday. You just don't know how badly I want this to happen!! I'll let you know as soon as I hear something.

Pardon the interruption...I just have a *feeling* you'll be selected. Just a hunch! (No "inside" info.) Good luck. :)
