Okay so ANTM premiered last night, here is a list of the "lucky 14".

(might have spelled three of those names wrong, sorry).



From the beginning I really liked Noelle, Tiffany and Kahlen. With Noelle and Tiffany I really admire how these women are still trying to live out their dreams and still be good mothers. I also admire Tiffany for coming back (after what happened the first time around), changing her life and showing how she has changed for the judges. As for Kahlen, I just think she's unique. I thought her walk was excellent (even though she claimed never to watch one ANTM).


I really don't know why Brandy was chosen. Honestly, I think it is because Tyra liked her "red weave". I don't think she will make it far (and I don't say this to be mean) but she has a huge gap between her teeth and they kind of stick out. The makeover they are doing next week is for their hair not their teeth. Like I said, I don't say it to be mean but I personally would not want to see a clothing add with her in it, smiling and this gap being shown. I honestly think that will be her biggest downfall.

I'm not too sure how far Michelle will go. She was "okay" looking. But she is wrestler, so she has this wrestler build to her. IMPO, she doensn't look feminine at all. That is going to be her challenge, getting away from the "muscular" and going to the "feminine".


Just laying my guess out there, I have a feeling that the top five will be, Brita, Noelle, Brittany, Kahlen & Tiffany. Now this is purely my guess I have no idea (plus I'm choosing people I'd want).

I really didn't think some of these girlsl were attractive. I liked the one blonde, I thought she was gorgeous. But what's up with the mohawk girl? Ugh. And Tiffany is okay looking but I don't see what's so special? Her tattoos aren't going to help her, that's going to require makeup and or airbrushing in any photos she does or runways. I hope they do something with her hair... it's just not flattering. Actually, i'd say that for most of the girls! Bad haircut city... uck!
Thank god that cat-chick didn't make it... she was screwed in the head.
Where there this many moms last time around? Do these women not have any stretch marks or scars from giving birth too their children?

Killing some time so i'm posting my comments on the finalists after looking at their pictures on the website to refresh who the hell is who

Brandy- Ronald McDonald called. He wants his wig back. It would be one thing if it was even real, but it's fake. I think Tiffany should pour a beer in Brandy's weave. Pretty face... but I bet she's one of the ones that pisses off Tyra next week

Brita- Love her, except the fact that she's named after my water pitcher. Downside, she's old for a starting out model- 25. Most classically beautiful I think out of all of them... no fugliness here

Britney- Looks like a flo-bee (if that's how you spell it) cut her hair. And she has a very crooked smile. Not a bad body. I think she was the one who was annoying as all hell though.

Christina- Scary. Has only one look it seems. Very long nose and very small mouth. She's going to be like Kelly from last season... constantly being told she needs to work on her expressions

Kahlen- Man jaw. Also very strange looks in her pictures. I think she'll go early on.

Keenyah- another flo-bee looking hair style, not flattering (i'm going by the pictures that are posted on the site). Storing nuts in her cheeks for winter... is angular the theme this season?

Lluvy- is a janitor! :eek: girl looks like her face would be prettier if squished down a bit instead of being stretched out long. Reminds me a bit of a girl in another sorority at my school that we would call bug eyes... But that kind of thing can work for modeling.

Michelle- scares the shit out of me. I'd hate to have to room with her. Wrestler and a hick. Her eyes, nose and mouth are so close int he middle of her face that there's a lot of head around it. Looks so strange. Needs to lose some muscle and look like a girl. She's too manly even for chick fitness magazines.

Naima-ick on the hair... wonder if they'll give her extensions to make her a little more versatile? Unusual work, but not very strong features. Did they mention what her ethic background is? Same criticism on the facial expressions as some of the others... open mouth, plain eyes.

Noelle- very cute, but hard core model material? I could see her more doing like Seventeen or something. Another mommy.... this show seems to center around some of the model whining about how much they miss their kids (i.e. Amanda last season)

Rebecca- cute, but not "edgy", lol. Very farmgirlish... reminds me in a way of Cassie from AI4. Cute, but not haute couture model... more non high fashion print

Sarah- don't remember her much from last night. Ick on the tattoo. I don't like bicep tattoos on women. But doesn't annoy me yet.

Tatiana- eyes are sorta freaky, Amanda-esque. Vacant. Pretty hair. Wonder if they do an extreme makeover on her hair or Noelle's... don't see them letting more than one have long curly hair.

Tiffany- yay for your change in personality but you're still not all that. Tattoos are ugly- bicep and chest and the hair just isn't right. Hopefully the stylists will help that. That sort of hair wouldn't look bad per se if it was done right... it just doesn't bring out her face enough

I always love seeing how different they look after the makeovers

A wise poster on televisionwithoutpity.com suggested changing the name of the show to "America's Next Top Babymama" since it seems like so many of the contestants have kids.

I don't understand the criteria Tyra and company to choose the would-be models. I've seen women at the mall, etc. who are more attractive than the ones on the show. But I guess she knows what she's looking for.

I didn't think any of these girls were knockouts. Some of them have interesting looks though. I completely agree about Michelle - WHAT do they see in her? I found her absolutely unattractive.

Michelle is fugly. I cracked up when Miss Jay said it looked like she had no neck because it's true! I thought models were supposed to be graceful looking with long necks...almost like a ballerina. Michelle definitely does not look graceful!

Brita is definitely the prettiest but she's got more of a Hollywood glamour look to her than a model look.

Rebecca- worked it much better than her farmgirl style
Christina- fugly
Keenyah- Didn't think she whined all that much
Brita- so beautiful, worried about her weight
Niama- scares me, but seems to be doing well
Noelle- looks better with the straight hair
Michelle- still looks like a man, ugly faces
Sarah-- okay
Brandy- BAD ATTITUDE. CUT HER ASS!
Brittany- personality still is annoying as hell
Kahlen- what's up with her fizzy straight hair
Tatiana- eh, okay
Lluvy- scares the shit out of me
Tiffany- looks WAY better now that she's lost that greasy curly hair. The straight hair instantly brings some elegance to her

What happened tonight? The UPN here is playing the Magic game instead of ANTM. :(

then had their makeovers. Brandy copped MAJOR attitude.

However, Brita got cut :( makes me very sad.

I honestly think it's b/c of her age (though she doesn't look it) and her weight, but they didn't want to say the weight thing b/c they'd get a ton of flack.

That makes me sad. She was the prettiest one.

im kinda sad brita got cut. the weight issue wasnt that big of deal when they deliberated....i thought they said she'd be a Plus-size model.

i mean brita can learn how to take better pictures!!! as for Brandy, her attitude was just so bad i would even wnat to give her another chance...such disrespect towards Jay nigel etc. BARF. Shes really ugly too

The wrestler scares the crap out of me, and dying her hair blonde just pointed out that she's only a strand or two ahead of Kojak. I don't know what they were thinking picking her over the reformed Mormon who I thought was really cute.

I think they kept Brandi & Keenyah around for the drama. If they cut all the crabby girls first the show will be hella boring.

Brittany, just because there is a Starbucks on every corner does not mean you need to visit all of them.

Christina - who'd she do? Honestly, I can't come up with another reason.

I am :( that Brita got eliminated. It gets harder each week when I have to look at Brandy's bucked up teef.

This season has been boring so far. They are focusing more on the house and drama than the photo shoots and modeling.

I like Naima, Kaylen, Keenyah, and Rebecca (in that order) and that's it. Porn Star Brittney and Manly Michelle are on my last nerve.

Oh fun. My VCR didn't record the previews for next week (I had it so it would switch over to Alias). I can't wait for Tyra to yell at them. I loved the one where she was yelling at Brandy and Keenyah about their attitudes in the salon. He he.

My faves so far are Rebecca (although she needs to learn to change her facial expressions), Kahlen (more self confidence) and Michelle (needs to learn to be comfortable in her own skin).

I don't like Niama, I don't know why either. Maybe its the whole mohawk thing. I just don't understand how her having a mohawk makes her "america's next top model". I personally wouldn't want someone with a mohawk walking my runway. Tiffany still has to much of an attitude. Brittany, OMG her behavior last week was APPALLING!!!!!!!

Christina is kind of my can go either way. I do think she is beautiful but she also needs to get more of a self confidence.

It's really hard for me to pick who I think is getting bumped next week cause I didn't see the previews, I just hope its not one of my favorites.



Oh on another note, does anyone know when ANTM is filmed? Are they filming now and doing a quick edit or was it filmed earlier this year? I ask because of the whole Michelle skin thing. I thought it was completely stupid that the girls were going ballistic but I also thought what they were being told my family members was completely out of line because I for one do not ever recall hearing anything on the news this past year or even last, about a skin disease that would kill you.

I really hope that she's *actually* yelling at someone at judging and it's not just something she's doing to show the girls about comanding attention, etc.

True, they do that a lot with The Apprentice. A couple of weeks ago they showed Chris having a fit in the preview and commercials. Then, when the episode actually aired, it turns out he was reflecting the other guy's behaviour back to him. In other words, he wasn't really having a fit after all. It's all about tricky editing. So, yeah, I'm curious to see if Tyra's yelling at someone, or as LeslieAGD wonders, if she's not just role-playing or something.

It was kind of sad seeing Tyra yell. Felt so sorry for all the girls there.

I missed it. I really wanted to see it. Can anybody recap what happend on the episode??? Why did tyra get all crazy???

Basically, the girls went around to an acting studio to get lessons. They had to learn a scene and perform it in a cockney English accent opposite of a hunky soap opera and model dude whose name I can't spell. Michelle, who took drama in high school, thought she had it in the bag. In the end, Naima was the winner of the challenge. Her prize was that she and two other would get to share $10,000 worth of diamond jewlery. She picked Michelle and Kahlen to go with her.

For their photoshoot, the contestants had to engage in a pillow fight with a handsome male model. The product they were advertising, naturally, was a bra set. Some of the girls did well; Brittany did very well. Some of the girls struggled: Kahlen, who has never had a boyfriend, had a hard time trying to interact with the male model in a sexy fashion. On the other hand, Rebecca struggled with the shoot due to the fact that she has a fiance. Finally, Tiffany just couldn't get it together - it was like she wouldn't let loose for what was meant to be a lighthearted shoot.

At the judging, the girls' surprise task was to do a cold-reading off of a teleprompter and pretend as if they were covering Fashion Week in Paris. I can't believe that everyone struggled to pronounce words like "magenta". :rolleyes: Tiffany read the first 5 words and then gave up. The judges tried to encourage her and reassured her that everyone had been royally messing up the lines and to just go for it. Tyra told her that if she didn't do it she would have to go home. So, Tiffany sucked it up and pushed her way through. As Tiffany was leaving the room, she muttered something about "This is humiliating and it just gets worse every week."

When everyone came back in, Tyra told them that they had all done poorly. The only person who had done a great photoshoot and a decent reading was Brittany. She was awarded the first photo. Then, the handing out of the rest of the photos commenced. The last two standing were Tiffany and Rebecca. For Rebecca, Tyra told her that she had hit a plateau and wasn't improving - that she was just "nice" and that's it. For Tiffany, Tyra said that she had a lot of potential, but that her negative attitude just wasn't going to get her far. She told Tiffany that she knows what it's like to struggle, but that people need to learn how to stand up and move on. With that Tyra said that this week the judges faced a tough decision. The result? Tyra revealed a blank sheet of paper. Both Tiffany *and* Rebecca had to go home.

Of course, everyone was surprised. With that, the two girls went over to the others to say goodbye. Rebecca tearfully hugged the others and wished them well. Tiffany said her goodbyes too. Just then, Tyra called Tiffany and Rebecca back to the center of the room. She then took Tiffany to task. She pointed out that Rebecca was crying about having to go home. Tyra said that it was an indication of how much Rebecca wanted this. By contrast, Tiffany was acting like it was all some kind of joke. Tiffany tried to argue that she feels bad too and that she just shows it different, etc. Tyra then flipped out on her and started hollering at her about how they all [the judges] had been rooting for her and how she wasn't living up to her own potential. Tyra was shouting at her saying that she's never yelled at a girl like this before. Tyra added that when her own mother yells at her like this it's because she loves her and wants to her better herself. I just think that Tyra saw some of herself in Tiffany and just really felt disappointed that she wasn't living up to all that she could be.

As much as I don't like her, I have a feeling Brittney will make it to the top three. It seems like she's the only one that the judges consider to be "improving."

I wasn't surprised to see Tiffany go and, as much as I thought Rebecca was pretty, she had gotten really whiney in the last few episodes.

I missed scenes...what's happening next week?

I have to agree with your assessment of Brittany, LeslieAGD. She does seem to be the only one improving.

I really liked Rebecca but your right she has been whiny lately. I may not be a model but seriously how difficult is it to "change your face". We do it all the time in society probably without even thinking about it. (shrugs shoulders).

Man, it's really hard to pick my favorites.

Honestly after last night pretty much all but Brittany and Michelle really need to be comforatable in their own skin. These women could not work with the male model while it looked like Brittany and Michelle were having fun. Rebecca was all worried about "cheating" on her fiance. HELLO your ACTING!!!!!!!!

I have to admit I'm glad Tiffany is gone. I was getting tired of her bad attitude.

I was shocked that Tyra dumped them both out of the competition. That surprised me. Didn't see it coming a mile away. I thought they would select Rebecca and give her one more chance. But I also see the strategy in it also. By them getting rid of two girls it is telling the others "you need to step this up or we won't hesitate to dump two of you".

I too missed the previews, so I am not sure what is happening next week.

The previews for next showed the girls looking upset from the meeting with the judges. The next shot looked like they were on a television set and Naima was using interview skills (Jann Carl from ET was in the background). Then it showed something about Kahlen and a personal tragedy and Christina said something to the effect that Kahlen is a great girl and she would hate to see her go home because of this.

wow. im still so sad that i missed it...2 girls went home???!!! Damn. I never really like Tiffany that much so im glad she left.

as of right now i dont really have a favorite. still waiting for someone to wow me. I did like some of Keenya's pictures like the KOrean pose.

as for Naima im still kinda undecided about her. i *love* her style & hair its sooo unique but i just dont think shes very pretty or has a lot of personality so far. maybe itll change.

i hope they rerun this episode! HAHA.

I reading along with the teleprompter, and it was pretty easy to do. Yes I have had years of being on stage and lots of public speaking experience, but the fact that none of these girls could get through the cold reading at the judging was pretty pathetic.

Oh yeah, sorry! They kind of look similar. I was concentrating more on Michelle because she looked so crushed when she didn't win the drama challenge; but was excited to be picked.

Shit I was surprised to see Tyra get that mad, but I can't help but say that Tiffany deserved it. I haven't really kept up with this season of ATM, but, I did see this episode. Tiffany should have just kept her mouth shut instead of saying that this was "humiliating." that is crap.

I agree with you PMmama. She just seemed way too emotional at every elimination. She took some great pictures but I have to agree with the judges that she just didn't have the personality for it.

I dont like her at all, she looks relaly freaky and she always makes the weirdest faces when they show her. But i think she has personal issues that she needs to deal with. So annoying how she always cried at every elimination!!!!

It was her time. She would never have been able to handle the pressure and criticism of the modeling world.

Comment about Keenyah & weight...don't the girls usually work out weekly with a trainer? I don't remember seeing them do that yet this season.

My thing, if this is a competition how come they airbrushed Keenyah's picture?

I will be the odd ball out, but I really liked Michelle. I think the reason was because she wasn't your typical "model look" and lets face it the other girls are.

I don't think it will be Brittany, mainly because she is way to much a loose card and I don't know if they will want to tempt it with her. I mean they have already shown Brittany getting super drunk, flashing her ass at passing cars and then dancing on tables. If she did that shit after being named "America's Next Top Model" she would be almost a disgrace of the modeling world. B/c lets face it models have a bit more class than Brittany has.

Honestly the girls that are left none of them really impress me.

I don't think it will be Niama or Keenyah. Depending on how Christine does on the final shoots, she might be in the "running". Just out of the ones left I would have to guess that Kahlen will win. But we shall see. You can never tell with the judges (ie I never expected them to get rid of Tiffany and Rebecca at the same time).

I think Brittney has more class than her.

I didn't watch season 1, watched a bit of season 2 (I didn't like the girl they pick yoanna, or something like that, I liked the runner up). Watched most of season 3 (I was partial to, oh whats her name, Amanda).

So not having watched S1 I really can't make a comparision. I think I am going to go out and buy the first season (used at the wherehouse. lol)

So she was worse than Brittney? How were her pictures? Did you think she should have won or not?
