Theta chants & songs
Hey girls, I hope somebody actually reads this message http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif I was just wondering if any of ya'll know any cute & catchy theta chants to do at things like derby days & other sorority competitions. We always do the same one over and over and over and personally I am ready for a new one. Ours goes "Kappa Kappa, Alpha Alpha, Theta Theta Theta! We're the best, hell yes, Kappa Alpha Theta!" So not only is it repetitive, but I guess a little crude too. Anyway, if your chapter has anything better to offer (which shouldn't be too hard http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif), please let me know!

We actually have a ton of cute, Greek Week easy to do songs, but I can't remember them right now! We have an awesome Song Chair who is a Music major that I could give you the e-mail of if you contact me. The one I can remember is a lot like yours:

Hey! :) Eventhough i'm a new Theta member at Eastern Kentucky University, and i dont knwo a lot of our chants and songs yet, there is one that i learned during rush time that stood out . "DAMN! it's hot in here! It must be the Theta's in the atmosphere. I say DAMN! it's hot in here it must be the theta's in teh atmosphere!" This cheer always made me smile and pumped me up while waiting to go into the party :)

A Theta Alum from VT(Sandy) one time told me about a serenade that they did for Beta. Its a lullaby song(mulberry bush) and very cute.

I know this topic was way long ago, but we use a really cute song/ chant during recruitment that always gets stuck in my head (and those of the PNMs too :) ):

Thanks for the bump, Jess! Not gonna lie, there were some of these I forgot allllll about! The Theta Kite lullabye is one of my favoriites. But we did a LOT of the above.

Here's 2 more I can remember (though not from the U of OK chapter)...
We did this one as our entrance song to Preference. One in love, and Theta friendship true One in faith, that Theta's there for you One in hope, that you will join us too With twin stars and kites above. Bump
Any specific song(s) sung at candle passings? We have TWO engaged members and it's been quite a while since we've done a candle passing. Everyone is quite excited and for the life of me, I cannot recall what we sang but I do not think it was "Remember". Help? |

prettyv, I'll search song books next time I'm at the chapter and if I find Boom Boom, I will photocopy the page(s) that has/have the actual "boom boom" song and music. The chant is added. I can hear the song in my head now (ear worm!).
There are a LOT of songs that are no longer sung; some are very "dated". It's like the hymns that are no longer sung in many church services today. Styles change. |
We always sang "Remember" and "Theta Kite" and "One in Love" for candlelights. We just sang all 3 over and over until the candle was blown out.
