The "STFU" List
 

Since we have quite a few (relatively) new members making their way around GC and posting at a voracious pace, I figured I'd give everyone a chance to create an official, uber-helpful "STFU" list to keep threads clean and relatively interesting. I'll start with one, and Rudey can tell the rest of you how to behave in a fashion that doesn't put me on permatilt:



*If you have never had sex, or have religious/moral issues regarding it . . . STFU in any threads about the 'hows' or 'whys' of sex in the Dating forum.

If you're only going to post to attack another member and not add anything to the thread, then you would be safer just to STFU.

(this does not include criticizing someone's opinion; but just posting in a random thread to criticize a poster is really annoying)

If you are telling (relatively) new members how they should behave outside of the rules set down by GC management.

If you're a subtype of an attention whore that likes to get attention by feeding/criticizing trolls or troublemakers STFU. This isn't just on GC it is almost everywhere on the internet. Almost everyone knows that the best way to get rid of troublemakers is not giving them the attention they want. So if you're "busting" trolls, you're doing nothing but trying to make YOURSELF look good.

While I'm at it...anyone who goes out their way to make themselves look good (on the net or IRL) STFU! But that's kind of a different subject...

If you're creating new personalities solely for the sake of agreeing with your old personalities. AND IT'S REALLY REALLY OBVIOUS LIKE EVEN RAY CHARLES COULD SEE IT AND HE'S BLIND AND DEAD.

Figures that this would come from someone who has had troll personalities that got busted. ;)

So I guess i'll add a STFU for people who create fake usernames just for the mere purpose of stirring isht, and who aren't even mildly entertaining. And also at STFU for people who don't have the balls to voice things under their own username and have to create a new one so that they stay "anonymous"

Or if you say that you don't care about something, but then go on and on and on about it in multiple threads and posts

It's not that I'm hung up on your level of proficiency. I don't care much for spelling and grammatical mistakes. It's that you can't understand something because of your level of "proficiency".

Do you understand what try means? It doesn't mean that if you "try" to be funny, that you are not. Do you get it now?

I'm going to try to parse this:

"Local Gag and Puke News" - I assume the 'gag and puke' is editorial, and you're talking about the television news broadcast

"this Isht" - is this in reference to the thread? one particular post? what you were watching before the local news? No clue here - you need to work on your pronouns, Tom.

"Is The MOON FULL" - possible werewolf reference? The capitals mean that it could be an acronym, anyone have any clue?

"or is all in a drunkeness Stupid?" - here it appears that 'Stupid' is a proper noun, but there's apparently many of them (requiring pointing out that this is 'a drunkeness Stupid' out of many possible drunkeness Stupids). Also, this sentence is very existential, nearly zen-like, with the inference that "all" is contained within this particular drunkeness Stupid. That's deep, Tom.

Past that, I guess I'm not really sure what's going on here - Tom, any more specific instructions for us? Perhaps using STFU, as the thread dictates?

I always post in pink cuz it's easier to find my post on the page. Is it that annoying? I hate fashion statements so that's definitely not what I'm tryin to do.

But I guess I'll stop.
