Best Fried Chicken Ever
This thread was inspired by tonights dinner.
My neighborhood fried chicken joint, the Cornerstone Grill, has the best fried chicken that I've ever had. They take free range chicken, remove the skin (which I hate,) batter dip and pressure cook it. This is really good stuff, for the price of KFC or Popeyes! And you can even get a huge side of broccoli for $2.50 if you want to pretend that you're eating healthy. |

WA
Ezelle's Chicken.................
AKA: Oprah's Favorite Chicken. Jill will back me up on this one too. :D |
In the Chicago area: White Fence Farm, closely followed by Dell Rhea's Chicken Basket. Both have been around a while, both are in interesting buildings, both are excellent.
|
Honestly, I really like KFC. After that, theres a joint here called Earl Abels thats known for its fried chicken.
I could eat it 7 days a week. |
my mom i suppose..
we're a little bland in terms of chicken stops in el paso. churchs and kfc...so. |
There's a restaurant chain in the Atlanta area called Folks that I absolutely love. They have all the Southern food like fried chicken, fried green tomatoes, catfish, peach muffins, etc. Their fried chicken is awesome!
Publix fried chicken is really good too! |
Popeye's is awesome; maybe it was because of all the alcohol I had during Mardi Gras, but when I had it down in New Orleans it was amazing.
|
Oh, yum. Po'Folks is so good......well, I guess it's called Folks now. I like my KFC for fast though and it's 90% always great!

Except for my mother's homemade and Popeye's/Bojangle's, I haven't found GREAT fried chicken....
I liked Church's when it was still in the north... Ah well, nothing like searching though:D |
This one Popeyes in mississauga has the bestest fried chicken ever....
besides my mom's, of course! |

Other than that, here we have KFC, Church's, Popeye's, Bojangles (one of my favorites, even though I'm always the lone white person in there and get funny looks), and Miss Marian's- a little hole-in-the-wall place a few miles from my house. Great chicken and incredible collards. Can't beat good greens with your chicken :) |
Babe's
If you live in DFW, and haven't been to Babe's Chicken Dinner House in Roanoke (north of Fort Worth), you don't know what you are missing. You get your choice of fried chicken or chicken fried steak, and all you can eat sides (mashed potatoes, salad, cream corn, the best buttermilk biscuits w/honey).
Makes my mouth water just thinking about it...and now I live 4.5 hours away and can't get any. Dang...thanks alot for making me think about it.... |
dzandiloo- I kinda know how you feel. Even though all these places are within short driving distance for me, I can't eat it. Really greasy foods (particularly fried chicken and hamburgers) are a no-no while I'm pregnant. I haven't suffered from morning sickness at all, but the greasy stuff does get the stomach churning. It sucks to not be able to eat stuff I'm used to :( I did cheat with the grits, after that thread popped up, but I didn't feel very good after that meal.

i use to like KFC until they found fried rats mixed in with the chicken. it was in the news way back. i like popeyes and golden chick.

In Atlanta gotta go to Pascal's or Thelma's Kitchen. Pascal's became famous during the Civil Rights movement as a meeting place for Dr. King, Any Young and others.
Gladys & Ron's Chicken and Waffles also has great fried chicken. |
