"Gastineau Girls"

A new reality series starting Tuesday, the 15th on E Network. I think it looks like it might be interesting...

How ironic that another one of Mark Gastineau's exes is starring in her own reality show.

First the tragic "Strange Love" and now this!

I wonder how active he is in his children's lives? According to Brigitte he's been MIA with their son. :(

It's on now...

I watched it and I'll probably watch again. Both mom and daughter are oddly likeable for some reason.

Mom's collegen-enhanced lips were distracting, though. I kept thinking they'd explode.

her cheekbones were distracting. i didn't like the door man or whoever he was. he looks like a filler that gives one liners or something annoying.

That show was a hot mess! I'll probably still end up watching it...lol

I didn't mind the daughter but the mother got on my nerves. Seems like another case of the daughter raising the mother kinda in ways. Or rather, it seems like no one ever raised the mother!

I didn't watch it, but from what I saw on the commercial, the mom looks like she has had more nose jobs than Michael Jackson.

Munchkin03 02-20-2005 11:59 AM

I thought it was hilarious--especially when the mother was spazzing about the dog!

Brittny (!) is really pretty. Hopefully she'll avoid the plastic surgery route her mother has taken.

Isn't she a little old to be really just starting into the modeling business? It's like she just woke up and said "oh, I want to be a model today". Though I don't support telling women they need to lose weight or change their appearance too much (when they're already that thin), I did have to laugh when the modeling agent guy was telling her she needed to tone up, cut her hair, etc.

Well, it's not as if she could do much else, really. She didn't graduate from college, and her mother doesn't have a job other than sitting around and looking good. Modeling is probably the only industry her mother could pull any strings in and get her any type of job.

When I read that both mom and daughter went to the University of Alabama, my first thought was, of course, "I wonder if they were in sororities?"

Nope. In the intro, they mention about how she opted out of finishing school to move to NYC with her mother.

"I wanted to go some place warm and Southern and with a big-time sports program," said Lisa, who refuses to reveal her age, even though she admitted she was 19 in 1979 when she left the university to marry Gastineau.

Interested in pursuing a major in broadcast journalism, the New York native said she heard Alabama had a good communications program, so she headed south. Later she had a career in broadcasting, working for Fox's "Good Day New York."

During her three years at Alabama, Lisa was in Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and served as one of the school's official hostesses.

I think the show is pretty funny. Watched a bunch of episodes in a row a few weekends ago. Fun mom & daughter pair.

I had no idea that she was a ZTA! Now I like her even more. :)

Did Brittny follow in her mother's footsteps and become a ZTA?

I just looked them up in our directory. Lisa is listed which means she's a member in good standing but Brittny is not listed. This could mean that either Brittny never joined ZTA or that she joined ZTA but then dropped (I think Brittny left Bama after her junior year).
