Sigma on American Idol
 

For those of you who are fans of the show (and even those of you who aren't), there is a Sigma still "in the running" to be the next American Idol. Her name is Carrie Underwood, and I'm proud to say she's a member of my chapter (Alpha Iota at Notheastern State U. in Tahlequah, OK). Even though I've been alum for several years now, I've still had the pleasure of hearing Carrie sing and perform during recruitment the past several years. I must say she is such a great singer, and a wonderful, sweet, smart young woman who has been such a great asset to the chapter during her membership, serving as an officer, etc.

I (briefly) dated a Phi Sigma Kappa man from there!!! Small world, huh?

I think this is awesome! I never watch American Idol...but now I have too & vote! I've already passed along this info to my undergrad chapter to boast about on our campus:p

Hopefully she'll be featured in The Triangle at some point...and if she wins..that would be incredible!!

I'm sooo excited Carrie got to the top 24!!! I am going to get everyone in my chapter to vote for her! lol. (Yes I am a crazy American Idol fan)

Sorry to barge in, but she's in People Magazine this week... She's one of the ones with the big pictures in the article :) From what I've seen of her, she seems really down-to-earth.

That's great news.. I like her...but for anyone who knows her is she really as naive as she is coming off on TV?

when I saw her singing this past week, I thought: "wow, she must of done all the recruitment solos..." , I'm so proud to have such a talented sister!!:)

You're too funny! Of course, Carrie was the one with the biggest singing parts during recruitment! She was Annie in the skit and sang solos during Pref night!

I am definitely rooting for Carrie all the way! She was my favorite even before I found out she was a Sigma!

Does anyone know if she is going to be featured in the Triangle or if Sigma is doing anything to let ALL of the chpters know that she is competing so theat they can watch the show and hopefully vote for her? If not ... I think we absolutely should! :D

Lavalier??
 

is it just me but does it look like she is wearing her lavalier in some of the pictures?

I totaly think she is too! I noticed that as well! If I was on TV I would be in my lavelier 24/7!

I totally missed tonights performance! Can anyone give me and anyone else a little recap? Maybe the song she sang, what the judges thought, lavalier sighting (wink) etc.?

p.s. could you imagine hearing her sing "In the Light" or "Stately and Royal?" I bet its beautiful enough to make you cry (not that it doesn't make you tear up already) :)

Carrie sang a Martina McBride song tonight... I'm sorry, but I don't remember the title. As usual, she was great. And the judges had nothing but praise for her. I don't think she was wearing her lavalier.

I think it was "Independence Day."

How funny! I have that shirt she's wearing! It was the chapter's recruitment shirt this past fall, and when we had our 75th anniversary celebration I picked one up! Carrie was not at the celebration because she was at her audition in St Louis for American Idol!
