Interview the Next Person
Borrowing this idea from our Panhellenic neighbors, the Alpha Phis!
Okay, how this works is a lot like some of the other threads we have, only with a bit more flexibility. I'll ask a question, then the next person answers and posts a question of her own, and so on. Let's start with: What's in your favorite salad? |
Woo hoo! Me first! My favorite salad is grilled chicken caesar with cucumbers, topped with a few garlic croutons. mmm, had it for lunch and it was so yummy. =) ------ If you could be any age for the rest of your life what would you be?
|
25 - not that I've gotten there (yet), but I like how I feel about myself right now and enjoy being young enough to relate to those a little younger than me, but still somewhat relate to those who are a little more mature than I am :)
Where do you see yourself in 10 years? |
I will be 32 years old and see myself married, with children, working on my first or second serogate child. I am my friend's serogate because she cannot have children which is a long sad story for another day.
If you had to do one thing for the rest of your life what would you do? |
If I could do one thing forever anything, Id be a pr person for Nascar or a pr person for a Nascar driver. If its something realistic, Id be at the job I am at now, transferred to someplace work managing a nice office with hours 8-4.
If you could go anywhere youve never been in the US, not including Hawaii and Alaska, where would you go and why? |
I'd go to either Maine (beautiful coastline, plus only state in the East I've never been to) or Colorado. I've never been to Colorado, and I keep hearing how beautiful it is.
Do you feel that you work better by yourself, with your own hours/schedule, or do you work better in a structured enviroment? |
I def work better in a structured environment. Self paced is not the way for me! Too many distractions!
Is your glass half empty or half full? |
Half Full
What do you do to relax from a long, stressful day at work? |
Let's see.... On my long days of class (M.W. F.... start @ 9:00 and don't finish until 8:00) the first thing I do is take off my shoes, turn on the AC, plug my iPod into its speakers and then just sing and dance around for about an hour. It's so relaxing and helps to restore my energy that I need to get through hours and hours of homework and extra curriculars (maybe I should spend more time on my spelling, I have no idea if that's right) ;)
Over the summer I would babysit from 9 am to 4 pm and then have to get ready to go to my "real" job @ 5. I worked as a marketing assistant for a credit card company at a minor league baseball stadium... it was tons of fun, but I wouldn't get home until 11 and the first thing I'd always do is change and dive right into my swimming pool :) ------- Let's see.... ah! A famous movie producer and director come up to you and want to use aspects of your life for a plot in a movie.... 1) what's the title? 2) who will play the lead characters? 3) what genre of movie would it be? |
1. Even the best laid plans go wrong...
2. Drew Barrymore 3. Romantic Comedy Question: What is your greatest fear? Why? |
SPIDERS!!!!!!
I know that is a little generic, but I am petrified of Spiders. (all bugs really. but. I can kill an ant and) Spiders don't seem to be from this earth. They seem to come after me and I hate their webs too. They are totally evil in my book. (I know they kill other bugs but ewwww I hate them) Thank God for my husband cause he understands my phobia and he respects it and doesnt play the "there is a spider on you" game. Ok have I fully explained my fear yet . . . . What "totally selfish thing" would you do with 1 million dollars? (let me preface that question with . . . you have $1million after taxes and tithing) |
The wife of a Colonel in the Air Force, living wherever he is stationed at the moment, Mom of a 9 year old and 5 year old, with a Masters of Nusing in Maternal Child Health, with a certificate as a clinical nurse specialist and an IBCLC, taking clients whenever I feel like it for my own business of Lactation consulting, active participant in the local ADPi alum association, and advisor to the local collegiate chapter or an international officer in our esteemed sorority.
Whew! That's a lot! It probably will not all happen... but I can dream! If you had a chance to go on a "tourism shuttle" to space, would you take it and how much would you be willing to pay? |
(passing on the question, but asking adpi*nurse: Is Lactation consulting what I think it is?)
|
In repsonse to Honey-
Probably. Right now I'm a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor in addition to my labor and delivery nurse duties. A lactation consultant is the ultimate guru of breastfeeding and usually works in a position devoted only to helping mamas and babies breastfeed- either in association with a hospital or in their own business. Hmm, I think it would depend on what was on the shuttle. If the shuttle was like a five star hotel taking me out into space, I would definately consider it. If it was a shuttle where I would have to change almost every aspect of my daily life (what I eat, what I do, what I wear, etc...), then no.
So for the sake of arguement I'm going to assume that this shuttle would be like "star trek", nice with some gravity. LOL. I'm kind of torn. I think it would be awesome to go to space but being a teacher, they should pay me ;). In all honestly, there are tons of cities, states and countries that I would like to visit on the planet. I'd much rather spend the money seeing these places then going out to space (not that it would be amazing) and saying "oh look there's a comet" when I could go to Hawaii and say "I'm standing right above the USS Arizona", which for me would mean more because I'm an Arizona native and a WW2 buff. If you could change five things in your past what would they be and why would you do it? And if you feel like answering, how do you think your life would be different now? |

2) I wouldn't have married my ex. 3) I would have taken my credit history more seriously. 4) I would have had children in my early 20's. 5) I would have started living in God's Will much earlier in life. All of these things would have lead to the same result: I would have prospered better in all ways, and wouldn't have "sweated the small stuff". Extremely good question! Let's try it again: If you could change five things in your past what would they be and why would you do it? And if you feel like answering, how do you think your life would be different now? |
5 Things I would change... they would all be from the first two years of college:
1. Not be such a nasty girl with a nasty attitude when my family dropped me off at school in the fall. I was literally like, "Ok bye. See you later." the second they had helped me unload everything! (I get along great with my parents NOW, but it took me a long time to grow out of the nasty teenage girl treats her mother like dirt stage. Wish I would have grown out of it sooner.) 2. Not treat my high school boyfriend with whom I was attempting to have a long distance relationship quite so harshly when I finally broke up with him. (I would still have broken up with him, just done it in a nicer way.) 3. Not been so naive during rush. (It was still rush!) For one thing- I signed up at literally the last minute, and didn't do my homework before hand. Two specific events come to mind... I wouldn't have told a sister from XYZ- "Oh, you already cut my best friend and we're rushing together." Duh- I was cut from that house the next day. Or at ABC- arrive early to the party and STICK AROUND! The sisters were cleaning the chapter room and I was camped out on their couch. DUH! Cut from that sorority the next day too. Makes me wonder where I would have ended up- probably still ADPi. :) 4. Not rush into a relationship I had at the church camp where I was a counselor the summer after Freshman year. It just made the whole rest of the summer awkward because we still had to work together day after day even though the relationship didn't work out. There was a certain something I did that just scared that boy off! What if I hadn't done THAT? 5. Not have gotten back together with my college boyfriend after we had broken up the First time. Yes, I'm sorry to admit I broke up and got back together with the jerk on 3 separate occasions thoughout Sophmore, Jr and Sr. years. Think of all the boys I could have dated throughout my last two years of college if I hadn't gotten back together with him that first time spring of sophomore year! So now- looking back on the relationships- if I hadn't of had them when I had them, obviously I wouldn't have met my husband when I did, fallen in love and be happily married now almost 3 years later. And if I hadn't been so blesedly naive during rush, I would have had a completely different sorority experience. I probably would not have been able to be an officer or gotten to know my sisters as well as I did as the other groups were all twice as large as ADPi was. Also who knows if I would have "felt" the ritual or taken the ideals of any other group to heart as much as I have with ADPi. Would I still be as involved with another sorority today as I am with ADPi? So the moral of this post it that everything happens for a reason. Amen. Now! On to the victim... err, I mean, next interview question! What was, will be, or would you like to be your "wedding song"? Why did you pick that particular song? Is there something in the lyrics, or is it the melody, or was it played at a special time for you and your sweety pie? |
Oh, adpi*nurse, you ask tough questions! Not that this'll be happening anytime in the future, but there are a couple of songs that I've "marked" as songs I want to use for a wedding song - hopefully the guy likes country as much as me :)
1.) You Are by Jimmy Wayne - every word is something you'd want your SO to say to you 2.) Making Memories of Us by Keith Urban - such a soft, sweet ballad (and the video for the song makes it even better!) 3.) Bless the Broken Road by Rascal Flatts - every time I hear this song, I imagine someone saying these words to me :) I better stop there, or this could get to be a pretty long response :) Next question: What's the one thing that you wish you would have done differently in your life so far? |
My answer is similiar to a previous answer: I wish I had been more sold out and commited to God earlier in my life.
If you had a daughter going off to college this August, what three words of wisdom would you give her? (Bet you can guess what's on my mind these days!) |
1) Go ADPi (or I am not paying for it, yes I'm serious)
2) By allllllll means go out and party, but PLEASE make sure you get your work done! 3) Find and do something you love. You win $100,000, but you can't pay bills with it, what would you use it for? |
If you won't let me pay off my house, (yes, I could pay my house off with 65K) then I would have to go with a month long cruise around the world or at least to hawaii and back I think that takes about 2 weeks. (you might say that wouldnt cost 100K, well I would do it right I mean if I am going to "blow" 100k then I better have a great time.)
If you could have any kind of elective operation without any chance of death or worse and the exact money to pay for it what kind of surgery would you have? In other words, what physical part of your head or body would you change if you could or if you wanted to? (not a great question but makes you think huh?) |
Since I've already started a "tummy tuck fund", that's what I'd do first. I have absolutely no problem with someone having cosmetic surgery, if it makes them feel better about themselves - UNLESS they become addicted to it! On the other hand, I think that those who are totally against it should not have it, and not try to tell me that "I earned my wrinkles/grey hair/flab etc." Well, I earned a brain to correct those very things!
adpi*nurse, I've already told mr. honeychile that if we ever really do end up getting married, our first dance must be to Etta James' At Last!!!! (Yes, we've been engaged for three years!) If money, job, and family were not part of consideration, where would you choose to live? |
Even though it's super cold there (and I'm not a fan of the cold), New York City. I love everything about NYC. I love the activity, the buzz, the sites, everything. And since money would not be an issue ;) I could afford to live in the city I'd live in a nice walk up that is probably 5-10 grand a month (if not more) ;)
If you could go back in time, to any era, when would you go back to? Where and why? |
All times are GMT -4. The time now is 06:35 AM. |
