Changing eye colors....
My eyes have always been fairly light blue, both my parents have blue eyes (though I think my dad's are sorta hazelish at times). My brother has hazel/green eyes. My eyes would sometimes look gray in the past. But lately they've been very green- something that's never happened before. The woman at the Clinique counter the other day even remarked how the particular eye shadow she was putting on me would make my green eyes stand out.
It kinda freaks me out... I don't mind the green... it's just such a random change. Anyone else's eyes ever change color on them (aside from when you were a baby! :) )? |
Are you possibly wearing a lot of a certain color lately that would make your eyes look greener?
|
I have brown eyes, and up until about 2 years ago, the ring around the outside of my eyes used to be purple. It just...knd of went away. I don't know what caused it to go away, but it did.

My eyes are hazel, and change color with my clothing. An ex once referred to me as "the girl with kaleidiscope eyes"!
It can be annoying, though - I usually wish they'd stay mostly green. Both of my parents have hazel eyes - my mother's are mostly a purple, and my dad's were greyish-green. Needless to say, my elder brother won out with the gorgeous baby blues! |
maybe she was just a colorblind man in drag

My eyes change from brown to all shades of green. My eye color usually depends on how I am feeling. If they are really, really green my mom can tell if I'm getting sick (kinda made it hard to fake it when I was in school..lol). Also If I am really extremely happy they will be a different color. Most of the time they are mostly green with flecks of brown and gold. The other day someone I work with asked me if I had in contacts and i told her I didn't. she then said my eyes looked really pretty and different... almost cat-like. Dunno what made them look like that...

my eyes are brown but i am thinking about using colored contacts. maybe blue or green.
anyone have colored contacts? |

Since I've had LASIK, though, I'm content with what I have. |
I dislike colored contacts UNLESS the wearer is doing it "for a change" or "for fun."
I've met way too many people who think they can fool people into thinking that they have blue or green or hazel eyes...if you're Black with very dark coloring, you're not fooling ANYONE into thinking you have blue eyes. There aren't too many Cambodians with green eyes, either. |

My eyes are hazel and tend to change color but I have no idea why. Being a guy, I guess I don't really care. |
I have "hazel" eyes too, but they were really dark brown until high school when they became hazel and started looking different all the time. Now they vary between green, yellow and amber, but never get very dark. Like someone else said, when I am sick they turn emerald green. Makes being sick kind of fun. The oddest thing about my eyes is that if I close them and ask people what color they are people will usually tell me they think I have blue eyes. it's all about attention to detail.

My eyes are normally brown with a dark green edge around the outside of the iris. Sometimes they have more hazel in them and sometimes more brown. But Mr. ISUKappa commented one day they looked really green. Never heard that before.
He has green/gray eyes depending on his mood. |

Me too!! Most of my life, I had dark brown eyes. My mother used to say that my eyes looked like chocolate drops. Then, when I was 19, a girl on my crew (rowing) team complimented me on my green eyes. I was confused because she was looking at me from 6 feet away and was thinking they're green. When I got home, I noticed that indeed they appeared to be slightly green. I'm now 27 years old and they are a LOT greener than they were before. My grandfather has blue eyes - no mistaking it. I saw his driver's license once and saw that it said his eyes were brown. After arguing with me, I made him take off his glasses so I could peer into his eyes. They were definitely blue with one or two tiny spots of brown. It would seem that his brown iris disolved away and his eyes are now blue. I am pretty certain that this is happening to me as well. Though, I don't mind too much because I think green eyes are cool. Oh, some time ago, omega2 asked me what colour eyes I have and I posted this for him. One can see very clearly that there are large swaths of green where a solid brown iris used to be. http://members.ispwest.com/navane/kellyeye.jpg .....Kelly :) |
navane, that's exactly the eye color I have, including the ring of green! I usually like it, but I wish people wouldn't insist my eyes are brown (Mr RedRose does that...grr...). I tell people they're hazel.
|
Like Kelly & Laura I had plain brown eyes when I was little, but as I got older they definitely became hazel. (My mom's eyes are brown, dad's are bluish-green.) The odd thing is that this happened to my next door neighbor and childhood best friend too...maybe there was something in the water :)

My eyes are pretty much brown, but about two years ago they graually were turning this weird hazel/green color. I later on found out that it was because of my contact lens. My eyes were not getting enough oxygen and the blood vessels were moving up to the surface.
I switched brands and now I'm back to my beautiful browns again. :) |
when i was born - the doctors didnt know whether or not to put blue or grey down on my birth certificate because every time they looked at me they were a differenty color.
i, for the most part, have crystally blue eyes.... but when its a really beautiful sunny day, i have the greyest eyes, and when its a dark and gloomy crappy day - my eyes are bright blue. lately theyve been a blue color with a weird green shade in them... personally im getting tired of having different color eyes:rolleyes: i had one girl walk up to me and DEMAND that i tell her where i got my "colored contacts" because every time she saw me my eyes were another color :( |
