Arrest Black babies before they become criminals
In another group I am a member of, this link was posted regarding what is "proclaimed" to be justifiable stereotypical humor because comedians such as Chris Rock and David Chappelle perform such jokes in their shows. This link will take you to an online T-shirt company who seems to find humor in drawing an African American baby being handcuffed stating "Arrest Black babies before they become criminals.
http://www.tshirthell.com/store/prod...?productid=332 What are your thoughts on this and the point this company is attempting to make? Here are mine:     |
That shirt is disgusting, racist (yeah, I said it) and is sick. I don't care what Chris Rock or Dave Chapelle say in their comedy routine, presumptuious (and that's putting it nicely" shirts like that don't belong no where. Arrest black babies before they become criminals……gimme a a break!
|
Eh...it is very offensive, but most of the shirts are quite offensive. I think the site's sole purpose is just to shock people, nothing more.

Sick and beyond WRONG!
|
Oh My God!! @ the "I surfed the Tsunami 2004" t-shirt. That is plain ridiculous and insensitive. :(
|
Disgusting.
I looked at a few of their other shirts. I wish I hadn't.     |
I got that in my personal email, by way of Blacknews.com a couple of days ago. Talk about infuriating!!!!
They had another shirt in the article that said something like "jesus is a homo"!! Who in the world would have the guts to wear ignorance like that outside!! Here goes another scenario of what it means to some people when the constitution states "....freedom of speech." So unfortunate!! |

Those shirts were totally offensive!!!! Especially the one that said bring back slavery. I cannot believe these people that made those shirts. THe one that said Jesus is a Homo!!! I almost fell out of my chair when I saw it. I cannot believe someone would say that about the Lord:eek: . That site sucks.

There was an article earlier this week that advised people not to pass the link around or visit the website. I'll take your word for it that the site is full of vile and disgusting t-shirts. But by passing the link around it just invites more people visit the site - even if they don't buy anything the makers are getting what they want - traffic to the site and unpaid publicity.
Imagine if everyone just deleted the email instead of forwarding to others...the number of people that would know about the organization would be very small. Don't pass it along - don't visit them - delete the email when it keeps coming back to your in-box. The best thing to do is ignore them. You won't change the mind of those that think its funny or a first ammendment issue. You can make it difficult for the makers to stay in business. |

Some of that tuff is truly sick, however some of it is hilarious.
They have a t-shirt for babies that says "My I.Q. is higher than your president's." I cracked up, when I saw that one. :D |

Ok...This site is just plain stupid. And the people that post pics on the site are truly sick. The abortion one really made me want to cuss. Not to mention the one about the "Black Babies".
This is not comedy like the site states...it is hate!!! |
I didn't think that they were seriously selling some of those shirts. I mean, who in the world would wear some of those shirts?
NOBODY. I thought some of the stuff was funny. The "worsethanhell" page was just that - I believe it is just a subversive website, trying to be controversial and achieving just that. They don't just pick on black folks - they pick on EVERYONE. I don't like it, so I won't buy a shirt. I'm also not going to pass on that site to others, giving them more pub. And finally, I'm not sending any e-mails or protesting the site either. They have the right to sell those shirts. Now, if I saw an idiot wearing one, I'd probably call them an idiot. |

WORDS are POWERFUL....even in a T-shirt
Lawd, lawd, lawd....save our babies! sisters, one day we see a bumper sticker or t-shirt, next day similar happings are in the news. So often our black men are being targeted especially the hard to reach ones. Sisters reach one and teach one to reach and teach a multitude. PLEASE!
Let's continue to brain feed our babies....the unfunny thing is Chris Rock may think its funny but big brother has an eye brow up thinking...."hmmmmm" look at the little 5 year old girl last month that the police handcuffed....coincident? |

It's not even funny. I am also reminded of the video tape that came out this year where the troublesome kindergartner was arrested.   *Edited to add the word also because I didn't completely read Pearl's post and I see we were thinking about the same thing. |
Re: Arrest Black babies before they become criminals
It's disgusting and does not make sense to me. Now, if it said, "Kick black baby's butts when they do wrong, before they get arrested" then I'd have to say that it's halfway decent.
