I'm counting down the days till April 28!
|
Geez, would it kill them to come to someplace other than Chicago in the midwest?
Guess I'll be road tripping it in early May. |
Thanks Arya. Do you know when they go on sale?
I saw U2 in the Meadowlands (or whatever they are calling it now) in 1997. I had a great seats. I'd like to see them again. |
I am so there on 4/5....woo hoo
excited b/c I have an inside track on tickets (not discounts, just tix :D ) |

I had some friends who went to Pop Mart (1997) which they performed at BC Place and the sound was brutal:(; so I am pretty happy that they will be back at GM Place. |
Only Vancouver?!
I noticed the only Canadian city on the list is Vancouver - good for us U2 loving Vancouver Greek Chatters, but not for our fellow Ontarians...
|
Oops... I just realized I read the wrong date. My show in NorCal will be on the 9th! WOO HOO. I emailed the boyfriend, so hopefully we can go... along with the rest of his roomies.
I do have a question. The general admission (probably the cheaper tickets) are standing room only. I've never been to a concert like that where you are literally on the floor like that. Even at places where are sitting outdoors on grass, there is time to sit down. So would you be willing to stand for those 3 hours with zillions of people? I mean it doesn't sound so bad because of how close to the stage you could be... but what is everyone else doing? |
Yay! I just got tickets for May 21 at the Madison Square Garden!!!! Too bad they only let you get 2 tickets in the presale. Boo, I'm gonna try to get some for the Meadowlands when the regular seats go on sale. I'd love to see them in Dublin though.

Hopefully, I'll be able to get tickets next week. *Fingers crossed* :) |
I know me too-would love to go the Madison Square Garden one-I'll keep my fingers crossed that I can buy some on Monday! Thanks for the heads up!
|
*sniff* They're not coming anywhere near me! :( I'm the biggest fan ever...and they won't even grant me this one little favor?
|
I'm sure you know this already, but HP Pavillion is only allowing people to buy two tickets for the floor at a time. Is it the same everywhere else? It makes sense. I just have to wake up my bf to buy tickets on his faster computer.
AchtungBaby, can you fly anywhere nearby? |
Anyone else have any luck with buying today? I think the shows were sold out before we signed on to Ticketmaster. :(
|
I actually got tickets, but they're behind the stage :( . The tickets sold out in 6 minutes, so they added a second show in Vancouver. The second show sold out in 15 minutes. So I am going to the second show on April 29.
The Elevation tour only had one show and didn't sell out like that, but Pop Mart sucked, so that's our theory. Pop Mart was bad (because of where they played in Vancouver); they played a different venue for Elevation which rocked; so now everyone and their dog is going to Vertigo. |
No tickets for me. Sadly, my crossed fingers were not enough.

What she said! :(

Just got back from the concert....SO good. They didn't do some of the old stuff...kind of a bummer. Still outstanding though.
I LOVE U2...I may have to go again.:D  :) |
So, what was the setlist? Inquiring minds and all! Besides, I'm SO jealous!!!
|
Ok, I will try and remember (it was a long set...two encores)
Love and Peace Vertigo Elevation Cry/ Electric Co. An Cat Dubh / Into the Heart City of Blinding Lights Beautiful Day Miracle Drug Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own New Year's Day Sunday Bloody Sunday Bullet the Blue Sky Running to Stand Still Zoo Station The Fly Mysterious Ways Pride in the Name of Love Where the Streets Have No Name, One All Because Of You Yahweh ‘40’ They've varied the set list every night of the tour so far...but they didn't do a lot of stuff as well... I guess that is what happens when you have 3 decades worth of tunes. |
thanks to my connections (I was worried there for a sec)....I will be going either tomorow or wed, I can't wait.
I also put in my order for the november dates. U2 can not come to a city where I live and I not be there to greet them. ;) |
I saw them at the Pond on Saturday with my brother who so owed me this one (he bought tickets to 4 shows of the Elevation tour and didn't save one for me!) I actually was surprised that they played some of the older stuff, especially Boy (right before New Year's Day) and Running to Stand Still, both amazing songs. We had good seats, just above the floor seats, on the edge so we didn't have to stand the whole time (though it was hard not to... stupid girls behind us just sat the whole time, didn't know any songs, it was strange), stage right... it was a great view.
Now I can die happy :D |
Just got back from Denver where I saw U2 on Thursday (my birthday!) and they were awesome! I can't wait to see them again May 17th!
Here's what they played: City of Blinding Lights Beautiful Day Vertigo Elevation Gloria The Ocean / New Year’s Day Miracle Drug Sometimes You Can’t Make It On Your Own Love and Peace or Else Sunday Bloody Sunday Bullet The Blue Sky Running to Standstill Bad Pride (In The Name of Love) Where The Streets Have No Name One Zoo Station The Fly Mysterious Ways All Because of You Original of the Species “40” |
Just have to say that my husband and I bought our tickets for the Dec.12 show and it sold out in 59 min. I soooo can't wait till I get to see them, I have loved this group since 7th grade!!!:D
|
We were traveling on Saturday, so I couldn't go online to get the tix. I called w/ my cell phone in one hand and Mr. AXiD670's cell phone in the other hand...and it took me 35 minutes to get through. Then I sat on hold for 10 more minutes....and finally the guy said he could only sell me tix one at a time! BOO! I'm so sad we couldn't get those tickets. :(
|
OOHH, that is such a bummer!! If Mr. WCUAXID and I had gone to that same event we would not have gotten our tickets but when I heard the weather forcast and that they were calling for rain and snow we decided to stay home and get our tickets. I think that was a good comprmise. I hated to miss the founders day celebration though. I bet it was great!!

U2 fans line up to appear in video
Global BC U2, Global TV, BC Wednesday, April 27, 2005 CREDIT: Global BC Irish rock band U2 issued a last-minute call for extras to participate in a music video shoot Wednesday. Thousands of Vancouverites lined up at GM Place to be part of it. Fans of the mega-popular rock band U2 scrambled to get down to GM Place after Lower Mainland radio stations announced that the band was looking for extras to appear in the video they were shooting Wednesday. The news came as a surprise, but U2 had no trouble getting the 4,000 extras they were looking for. The video shoot was expected to take several hours. U2 perform at GM Place on Thursday and Friday. Both shows sold out within minutes. |
So does anyone in NYC or NJ have extra tickets?
|
YAY!!
We were able to purchase lower level seats for November 14th here in Miami!!! i can't wait!! i ♥ U2!! BTW: Can anyone tell me who they are touring with? THANKS! :D |

Kings of Leon were with them in Denver but we got there late and missed them. U2 didn't come on till 9. Franz Ferdinand will be with them in Europe and The Killers will also be with them, but I'm not sure if it's in Europe or when they come back to the US/Canada. |

Vancouver's first U2 concert was last night; I am going to the second show tonight - I am so excited!

Excerpt from my blog:
The Watering Hole __________________________________ ...Yes, I have a message for Paul Martin ...you see Bono told me to give him a call... I was very happy and fortunate to be one of the chosen ones. That is one of the U2 fans lucky enough to get tickets for their Vertigo tour. Two nights in Vancouver sold out in about 15 minutes. Granted I was behind the stage, and way up in the nosebleeds of GM place, but it still rocked. I don't think I can even describe the excitement and anticipation in GM Place on Friday night, and the stage set up - well, you just had to be there. I was dancing up a storm (and there wasn't much room, sandwiched between Andrew L. and Colin) to Vertigo, Elevation, Sunday Bloody Sunday and the list goes on. The one thing I noticed was the number of generations present at the concert, different generations for different albums. There were some young kids in front of us who seemed to know everything off of "How to Dismantle and Atomic Bomb," and then there was my crew, the Achtuang, Zooropa generation, and so on. They played a ton of stuff from the new album, more so than most stops, I believe. Why? Well, they are using the Vancouver (and I believe Seattle) concert for the Tour DVD. Pretty cool! Then, during One, the UN charter scrolled across the big screens, and so did Paul Martin's phone number. Bono asked everyone to get out their cell phones and call PM-PM and tell him that Canada is the best nation to put a stop to poverty in 3rd world countries - these were Bono's words. During One, everyone had their cell phones open, swaying to the music and the blue and green glows lit up GM place - it was an awesome effect. Very powerful. The next evening, while at dinner with friends of ours, we decided to see if this phone number actually connected us to Paul Martin - we were connected to the Prime Minister's Office and then to the Prime Minister's voice mail... Bono told us to give you a call, we support his cause and want Canada to take a leading effort in ending poverty in 3rd world countries. |
