COOL!!! I saw 3 different dates yesterday and figured it had to be March 2nd!! YAAAAAY!!! |
|
My gosh... they sure weren't playing! I will be waiting to watch the new season. Random thought- I thought the Surreal Life was a show of has-beens having there career revamped....why was Adrienne (sp?), the first ANTM winner on there? |

Oh No! It's at the same time as american idol. :(  |

 I am soooo excited :) |

No plus model this cycle? I was looking at all the contestants' bios and saw nobody who was heavier than 135, and those were 5'11." Maybe ol' hag Janice really got to Tyra this time. |
|
I also noticed that American Idol is on at 8 pm on Wednesdays..yeah I can record both now! |

Gone is the token plus-size contestant from seasons past--these wannabes conform to waifish model standards, despite professing their adoration for foods such as pizza, chili cheese fries and Taco Bell. Entire article: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...en_tv_eo/15873 |

Top Model 4 Sneak Peek by Daniel R. Coleridge The fourth season of America's Next Top Model begins March 2 on UPN, but we've got nagging questions that won't wait till then. So here, TV Guide Online hooks up with host Tyra Banks and her fellow executive producer Ken Mok for a sassy stroll down the catwalk into Model's past and future. Change of Venue This time around, ANTM is set in sunny L.A. "Our show needs to be on the pulse of fashion," Banks says. "Los Angeles is now a major fashion port in the industry. They're going into their third season of having a true Fashion Week like New York, Milan, Tokyo and London." The girls are housed in a snazzy apartment, right above a fashion design company, in an "iffy" part of downtown. "We show them a different view of L.A. than palm trees, beaches and Beverly Hills," Mok says. "It's a more gritty side." Deliver Us From Eva Will the third season's victor, Eva Pigford, make a cameo appearance as past winners have? "I don't think you should make that assumption," Mok responds curtly. Hmm... Janice the Menace Last year, ANTM judge Janice Dickinson publicly complained that Eva won instead of Amanda Swafford. Will they be putting a muzzle on her this time? "Janice is Janice," Banks chuckles. Adds Mok: "We love Janice. Janice will speak her mind no matter what — she doesn't mince words or say politically correct things. She's entitled to her opinion. That's what makes the show interesting." Now that sounds pretty PC to us. Size Matters Don't look for a zaftig beauty like Toccara Jones in this year's bunch, which includes no plus-size wannabe models. Mok's explanation? "We wanted to have two because we didn't want [someone] to feel like the token plus-size model, so we invited more [plus-size women] out for the initial casting. However, the way it turned out, none of the plus-size contestants were very strong. We could've ended up with one plus-size girl, but we thought it was going to be unfair again." Adds Banks: "I think that's important for that girl to feel some healthy competition, as opposed to measuring herself up against girls that she'd never be up against for a job in the real world of modeling." Again, hmm... Rainbow Connection There are no ladies of Asian descent competing, either. "We have white, African-American [and] Latino, but we do not have Asian in this cast, although we looked very hard to get some Asian candidates," says Mok, who's careful to point out that he himself is Asian-American. "We'll do our best to get [Asian candidates] in the next cycle. We like to make sure our cast has a healthy and honest reflection of what the U.S. populace is." Surreal Deal Tyra can't be too pleased about the first Top Model, Adrienne Curry, dating Christopher Knight (the artist formerly known as Peter Brady) on VH1's has-been sideshow, The Surreal Life. "Honestly, I was not very happy that she was going to be on that show," Banks admits. "But when I saw the company she had on the show, like Marcus Schenkenberg — who is still a supermodel — and the cast this year, I don't feel like it was so has-been-y as it has been in the past. On Surreal Life, they're not saying she's a has-been, they're saying she's a working model, which is very nice. It made me feel a lot more relaxed." Sorry, SI What did Banks think of NBC's Wednesday-night reality rip-off, Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit Model Search? "I haven't seen it," she responds. "I don't know, but it's flattering that they would do something like that. I haven't checked it out." Ouch! Miss Tyra just burned a Peacock's tail feather. |

Turns out her name is Brandy too! Quote:

This is going to sound mean, but the "talent scouts" are really trolling the bottom of the barrel for contestants this season. :o :( |

So far I am bored. Oh and please Mr. Jay take off the lace shirt. I'm going to call him Jayne because he is very effeminate. Tiffany has matured from last year. I am so glad that that Lady Kat chick gets cut. She is beyond!!!! |
|
Ummm..... Well, yeah the Cat Lady was a little scary! I didn't know what to think. Madd that the fro lady hair isn't real. I would have been so cute on her. Even though I don't like the red color. Chick with the mohawk....okay?! @ the hair! Estela from NY...she story was so sad. Her husband kicked her and her yr old child out. That's deep! Then she had to live in a shelter because of his selfish ways. WOW! She looks really grateful to be there. WOW @ Sarah saying that she will smack the Cat Lady   Some of those women are so SKINNY!!! Didn't Monique say skinny women are evil?! LOL! Just kidding! But they are looking a little malnourished. Good to see that Tiffany came back with a new attitude. I hope she goes far. Q |
|
This is so not right for me to say but Tiffany is not model material (In my eyes). Any one of the 21 girls (except for Kat Woman) who did not get picked could have taken her place. |

When Brandi said her hair was a weave I was like  . She has got one heck of a forehead though, dang that thing is big!!! I am so proud that Tiffny came back and that her attitude has changed! |

Clearly I want to know which of the 2 will piss her off the most during the makeovers next week. |

 So do I. |

I was mad they picked the chick who is on a wrestling organization at home. She has no neck...sorry to sound mean, but ANTM is really taking this "turn the ugly duckling into a swan" thing a little too far. Just my opinion. |
|
I think they only picked Tiffany for drama value. If I were one of the girls who didn't get picked I would be very angry that Tiffany or Brandy got chosen over me. They aren't cute. The one girl (I can't remember her name), she cried and hugged Tyra and said "Tyra, I'm heartbroken"...I thought she was pretty. I really like Tyra, she is so positive. |

BWHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHHAHHAHA..... "....some of these girls look like chitlin' bucket scrapings!" omg ...that was whoooooooooooooooooa CLASSIC... I needed that....LMAO |

I thought Mary was one of the prettiest girls there, and they sent her home. I felt so badly for her. The rest of the girls were just average. If they can take an average looking girl and make her into ANTM, why can't they take a short girl and do the same (can you tell I am bitter because I am vertically challenged?) That girl, the one who was really excited, she was annoying--I would have sent her home on principle. I haven't really watched the show since the second season, and I don't expect that I will be tuning in that often for this one. |

^^ Yes. I was like, " that is un-model-like behavior". I think they are turning the show into extreme makeover. They've chosen all of these ugly ducklings so the viewing audience will be amazed at their transformations. There was another cuter girl there, I think that they didn't choose her because she looked a little like Eva (similar complexion, curly/same color hair). I will still watch the show...just for the drama. I can't wait to see which 2 got Tyra upset. |
|
Models do not have to be pretty. I also think that there's nothing wrong with offering a little "polishing". Gia, one of the first supermodels and Janice's contemporary, was a little rough around the edges. I'm glad Tiffany made it this time. I'm so happy to see her growth. As for Mary, the plus-sized model, I'm glad they sent her home now. It's more heartbreaking to see it later. Why do we think there will be a different conclusion with the same cast of characters??? |
