worst song ever??
Ugh, I dont know what its called, but has anyone heard Jennifer Lopez's new song?? It is possibly the most annoying song I have EVER heard played on the radio. For one, its nearly impossible to listen to without getting a mild headache due to the beat and some trumpet like instrument that I cant even identify.
I cant take her seriously anyway, so this just made it worse. |

Bye Bye Miss American Pie is the worst song ever.
|
Actually, I have a top 3.
Rock & Roll Girls by John Fogerty One of Us by Joan Osborne The Old Man Down the Road by John Fogerty This list shows that a) John Fogerty was not CCR because some of their songs are actually standable b) even a singer with a kick ass voice like Joan Osborne can't turn a truly hideous song into something good. |
Anything that comes outta Ashanti's mouth.
Oh, and Extreme's "More than Words" makes me want to fling myself onto incoming traffic. |
The collective catalog of Mariah Carey (except "Heartbreaker") and Celine Dion.
|
The very very worst song ever is:
Barbie Girl  I hate it! |
"C'mon ride that train, and ride it"
|
sorry that "Let the Eagles Soar" thing that was sung during the Inauguration yesterday... I honestly thought it was a joke song that the Daily Show put together... <shudder> how wrong I was...
|
Worst song ever, hands down, no discussion:
Seasons in the Sun -- Terry Jacks Honorable mentions: Playground in my Mind -- Clint Holmes 99 Red Balloons / 99 Luftballons -- Nena Walking on Sunshine -- Katrina and the Waves |
"It's a Small World After All."
Is it possible to get that song out of your head? Silver |
I'm too sexy for my shirt, too sexy for my shirt, so sexy it hurts...
Muskrat Love (most of you are probably too young to know that one) ETA: You need to read lyrics for Muskrat Love to understand: Muskrat Suzie, Muskrat Sam, Do the jitterbug out in Muskrat land and they shimmy, Sammy's so skinny. HUH?????????? |
I'll take that "Muskrat Love", and raise you one "Do That To Me One More Time" with a kicker of "Afternoon Delight"!
|
The Stroke by Billy Squire
|
I'll up that one "Mickey"!
|
Mickey is good, but what about "You're Having My Baby". EWWWWW!
(I'm nursing a twisted knee right now, so I could probably stay up all night thinking of songs for this thread!) |

Those are both bad.. and reminded me of Sexual Healing!
And, as much as I love it, I have to add Disco Duck to the list too. |

I think I blocked that one out of my memory! Run, Joey, Run indeedy...
How about the original "MacArthur Park" then? |
Surfin Bird by the Trashmen.
|
Billy, Don't Be a Hero
I agree with Seasons in the Sun as well - boooooo I remember when MacArthur Park came out and we all went around asking "But what does is MEAN????" |

I mean, who doesn't want to move like Harlow in Monte Carlo? :p |

Worst song ever (oh there are so many): "Hey Macarana" |
More and more keep coming to mind...
Da Doo Run Run Da Doo Run Run For the record, I like Seasons in the Sun, it's a tearjerker. |
When it comes to music, there's probably more I hate then I actually like. But here's my short list:
That new JLo song "Get Right" Anything by Destiny's Child Hoobastank's "The Reason" Jimmy Eat World's "The Middle" (at least that's wha tI think it's called) Anything by Celine Dion Switchfoot...they're just bad overall Goo Goo Dolls "Give a Little Bit" I'm going to stop there...I could work on this list ALL DAY. |

Hey, don't you be dissin my boy Shaun! :D |
I looove Shaun Cassidy!
Back on topic: what about "Wildfire" and "Sister Goldenhair"? Boy, there were some horrific songs in the 1970s. While we're at it, just add every last song ever released by REO Speedwagon to the list. All of them. The pain, the agony! |
Oh no, this song's telling a story

It wasn't his fault He means so much to me Daddy please don't We're gonna get married Just you wait and see! Not only did we listen to that song obsessively, we made up a drama to go with it...oy vey. But we were 8 at the time. I can justify this way easier than I can justify listening to Tiffany and NKOTB in college. Pittsburghers, if you listen to 620 AM between 8 PM and 8 AM, you may hear some of these 1970's story songs. Honey was quite a bit worse than Run Joey Run, IMO. Here's a scary site to visit - if you're of a certain age it will jog many memories: http://www.ktelclassics.com/ |
