*sigh*
BIRMINGHAM, Alabama (AP) -- A woman angry with her 12-year-old daughter for having sex forced the girl to drink bleach and sat on her until the child died, a police detective said.
The girl's 9-year-old brother was forced to watch the attack, Detective Warren Cotton testified Thursday in a preliminary hearing for Tunisia Archie, 31. Archie is charged with capital murder in the asphyxiation death of her daughter Jasmine. If convicted, she could be sentenced to death or life in prison without parole. Cotton said Archie, who has been jailed without bond since shortly after her daughter's Nov. 26 death, told authorities she was disturbed because "her daughter told her that she was no longer a virgin." She said she poured bleach into Jasmine's mouth and the child vomited, he said, then sat on her until she stopped breathing, Cotton testified. Archie forced Jasmine's 9-year-old brother Jacorey to watch the attack and "told him that if he shed a tear that she was going to kill him, too," Cotton testified |

Posted on Mon, Jan. 17, 2005 Las Vegas Weatherman Fired for MLK Slur Associated Press LAS VEGAS - A television weatherman was fired after referring to slain civil rights activist Martin Luther King Jr. as "Martin Luther Coon King" on the air, station officials said. Rob Blair, of KTNV-TV, was delivering the extended forecast Saturday morning when he said: "Martin Luther Coon King Jr. Day, gonna see some temperatures in the mid-60s." Jim Prather, vice president and general manager of the ABC affiliate, said Blair stumbled when he uttered the remark, but the excuse was not enough to save his job. "This kind of incident is not acceptable under any circumstances, and I'm truly sorry that this event occurred," Prather said. Blair, who worked at the station for about three months, apologized during the station's 6 p.m. and 11 p.m. newscasts Saturday. "I in no way intended to offend anyone," he said in the apology. "I'm very sorry." |

(I'm going idealist here, because I know this hemmorhoid will get another job. ) Somebody's career needs to end over this. Hopefully, the National Association of Black Journalists keeps this in a data bank and sends alerts to the Radio-Television News Directors Association or whoever would make hiring decisions on people. |

'Copycat' charged in McD's scheme
Cops say man placed objects in sandwich, then claimed injury Thursday, January 20, 2005 By Michaelangelo Conte Journal staff writer WEST NEW YORK (NJ) - A Cliffside Park man has been charged with cutting his own mouth with a razor and stuffing his McDonald's chicken sandwich with staples and a paper clip in an apparent copycat attempt to cash in with a lawsuit against the company, officials said. The incident follows a lawsuit filed earlier this month by Beatriz Bermeo of North Bergen against the same Bergenline Avenue McDonald's, in which she claims she ingested five needles that were inside her chicken sandwich. At about 2 p.m. Tuesday, West New York police arrested Jose Rodriguez, 48, and charged him with supplying a false report to law enforcement and tampering with or fabricating evidence, Capt. Robert Antolos said. Story continues Story about the Bermeo suit referenced above I know times are hard for us all, but dayum! |

Ademilton was huge
It seems like we've had, within the past month, tales of baby extremes. Here's a pix of Rumaisa, the babyperson in Chicago who weighed 8 ounces at birth. This Brazilian Web site said that Ademilton was 31 times the size of Rumaisa at birth.

What the HAYLE
ANSAS CITY, Mo. - A mother has been arrested on charges that she gave crack to her 4-year-old son to "calm him down."
Michelle R. Shelton, 32, of Kansas City, was arrested Thursday on a child endangerment charge. Police said the boy did not suffer any obvious injuries from taking the highly addictive drug. He remains in state custody. Police first began investigating Shelton a year ago when officers said they saw her escorting drug users into the apartment complex where she and her son lived. Police said some residents at the complex told investigators Shelton sometimes gave the boy crack cocaine to "calm him down." Social workers were sent to the apartment where they took hair samples from Shelton and her son to test for illegal drugs. The tests came back positive, police said. According to court records, Shelton told detectives she found empty crack bags and drug paraphernalia throughout her home after parties her son attended. She said it was possible the child found some of the drug. Link |

Police: Woman threw sex parties for teenagers
Police: Woman threw sex parties for teenagers
Saturday, January 22, 2005 Posted: 8:58 AM EST (1358 GMT) ARVADA, Colorado (AP) -- A 40-year-old woman held sex and drug parties with teenage boys, telling police she wanted to be a "cool mom," authorities say. Sylvia Johnson allegedly provided marijuana, methamphetamine and alcohol to eight boys at parties held at her suburban Denver home in 2003 and 2004. According to court papers, she admitted having sex with five of the boys. One of the boys told his mother, and Johnson was arrested in December and charged with offenses including sexual assault and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. According to court papers, Johnson told investigators she was not popular in high school and had finally started "feeling like one of the group." [BB91's comments, quoting Furious Styles a la Boyz N the Hood: "That time has passed, sweetheart. You missed it."] "She described herself as a 'cool mom,'" police said. Authorities did not say how many children she has or whether any of them were at the parties. A message left at the number listed for Johnson was not immediately returned. Link |
Let me begin by saying that as a mother of a 6 yr. old crack is the last thing I would give him to "calm down" . She should have tried to be a responsible parent.
As far as the "Cool Mom" person, I have a teen step-son ( he's 13 yrs. old) and I'm cool w/out having sex parties!!! What is wrong with these people!!!!!! |
Re: Police: Woman threw sex parties for teenagers
What happened to the days when the cool mom was the one who served Kool-Aid to the neighborhood kids?
