Gilmore Girls

I am tired of reruns! I want the new season to begin!

trojangal 01-12-2005 04:23 AM

What's the latest? I've missed a lot this last season...:(

abaici 01-12-2005 06:10 AM

When do the new episodes begin? I'm actually grateful for reruns.

Taualumna 01-12-2005 09:12 AM

New episodes begin on January 25.

MSKKG 01-12-2005 12:16 PM

Katherine Bailess, who has had a recurring minor part on the show, is from my hometown. Her mom is a dear friend of my middle sister.

EPTriSigma 01-12-2005 04:06 PM

I really hope that Rory and Logan get together. I think he was a great addition last season. From the preview for the new season, it looks like they might!

Just like One Tree Hill!

EPTriSigma 01-12-2005 04:22 PM

Tuesdays are TV days for us! Seriously, like half of our chapter gathers together to watch Gilmore Girls and One Tree Hill.

Glitter650 01-13-2005 04:11 AM

Anyone know when season 3 is going to come out on DVD ??

ADPiShannan 01-17-2005 01:38 PM

Man I soooo thought it was the 25th this week. Man I have to wait one more week for GG and OTH this stinks....

Logan is hot. I hope Rory lets some of her guards down and has some fun, which includes Logan. Hes so handsome. She is dumb if they dont get together.

Susan_Renee 01-18-2005 01:38 AM

I just hope Rory doesn't end up with Dean. And that her mom and Luke stay together.

sigmagrrl 01-19-2005 12:28 PM

IT LOOKS SOOOOOO GOOD NEXT WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Last night's rerun was by far my favorite epi of this season. Rory's dress (that you could have bought at Macy's), the LDB, "You jump, I jump"....fabulous.

I sooooo can't wait for next week! Yay for Rory and Logan the hottie!

Private I 01-19-2005 06:56 PM

my sister downloaded all the episodes on her external hard drive and we watched them for days during the break. I think Logan is a great addition but I think it will be a whole Rory teaching him to be less snooty sort of thing. I REALLY REALLY want Jess back in the picture, I still think he's the best guy for her (even tho he is a jerk) but from what I've read online he's not coming back this season or maybe even at all...

AEPhiSierra 01-20-2005 10:59 AM

I think Rory really needs to get together with Logan b/c she has to date someone who is actually social. She's in college and she hardly seems to go out to have fun and she is home every other weekend. I love her character but I think they need to make her a bit more of a college kid - you can be smart and still have fun.

Unregistered- 01-25-2005 07:51 PM

Don't forget...the fresh episodes start tonight!

It'll take a few more episodes for Rory and Logan to get together, but I have a feeling these next few weeks won't disappoint us!

Taualumna 01-25-2005 09:58 PM

What was with Rory's hair? She had a Lorelai do when she was visiting her grandparents at Richard's pool house!

Susan_Renee 01-25-2005 11:39 PM

I'm so mad. I was sooo excited about the new season starting tonight. But what do I do?? I fall asleep!!! I slept through it. Now I'm mad that I missed it.

sigmagrrl 01-26-2005 10:16 AM

Anyone want to give a recap? I DVR'd it, but am not opposed to getting a sneak preview!:D

lyrica9 01-26-2005 03:45 PM

it was a pretty lame episode, you didnt miss much.

Unregistered- 01-26-2005 04:10 PM

I think most of us will call it lame because everyone just wants Rory and Logan to hurry up and hook up already!

This is a really short recap (very unlike my OTH ones)

Stars Hollow gets their first snowfall and Lorelai is excited as always. She even smiles and welcomes snowfall with "Hello, friend."

Christopher pays Rory a visit at Yale but Rory gives him the cold shoulder because she still thinks he's going to fuck up whatever's going on between Luke and Lorelai. He offers to take her to breakfast but Rory refuses. What a bitch. I still don't understand why she has to be that way toward her father. He's just trying to make his peace with her because he never wanted to be like his own father.

Emily and Richard are reunited after a long haired white jack russell terrier finds his/her (I can't remember...they were going back and forth b/n the sex of the dog) way to their yard. Mom and Dad Gilmore take care of the dog -- and it looks like they're getting back together.

Sometime during the show, Lorelai's jeep gets buried in snow after it fell from the tree. She no longer feels affection for snow. She's the idiot who parked her jeep under a stupid tree. Hello, even I knew you're not supposed to do that!

Rory and Lorelai show up to Friday dinner and they find out that Christopher's father passed away. Immediately Rory feels like shit after treating him that way (haha...damn right, biatch!) and she shows up to his house, milk and cookies in tow.

She leaves, and Lorelai arrives, with adult milk and cookies in tow (acutally, it was a bottle of Jose Cuervo I think).

Lorelai shows up at Luke's the next morning with a massive hangover, and Luke knows something's up...but both Rory and Lorelai feel like Luke doesn't have to know.

Fast forward to the end, and Luke builds Lorelai an ice skating rink in her front yard. Big time "Awwwww...moment." I like Luke.

Susan_Renee 01-26-2005 07:27 PM

Thanks for the recap, OTW. :)

lyrica9 01-26-2005 08:22 PM

aww you forgot the war re-enactment crew discovering that a "scarlet woman" helped keep the general from reuniting with his troops, and that because lulu got sick kirk ended up playing the scarlet woman and taylor, as the general, was majorly p.o.ed.

next week looks like it may have potential.

Oh yeah! I knew I forgot something!

The re-enacted the "Battle of Stars Hollow" only this time they had proof that a whore was responsible for luring the British general into her bordello...thus the town was saved from British invaders.

When Lulu auditioned and got the part, Kirk proclaimed to the whole town "MY GIRLFRIEND'S A WHORE!"

Gilmore Girls Turns 100 -- Plot Scoops

yes i love tvguide.com --- scoop every day without having to buy a tvguide paperback version and waiting week to week.

Millions may be too engrossed in American Idol's Hollywood auditions to notice Gilmore Girls marking its 100th episode tonight (8 pm/ET, WB). And that's a damn shame because Emily and Richard Gilmore's wedding — well, technically, renewal of vows — will be a major blowout event. In honor of this milestone occasion, TV Guide Online's Daniel R. Coleridge rang up GG's sassy creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, for the exclusive prenuptial scoop on the Gilmore family fκte, Lorelai's love triangle, Rory's revolving-door of BFs and much more!

Mother-daughter clash
Expect testosterone-driven drama to erupt tonight between Lorelai's current beau, Luke, and her ex, Christopher, whom Emily specifically invites to the wedding to derail her daughter's romance. Just when we thought Emily had turned semi-nice! "In life, you never solve your family issues," Sherman-Palladino says. "You take a few steps forward and feel like 'We're communicating better!' Then something happens and you're like, 'Why didn't I see that coming? It always happens this way!' I like our show to reflect that. For all her horribleness, Emily firmly believes that Lorelai's life would be better and not as hard if she'd listen to her. But her tactics are insane. At the same time, Lorelai's defense mechanism of shutting down isn't the best way to deal with her mother. While we wanted a fancy, flowery ceremony, we also wanted this 100th episode to be a very Gilmore story — it's about how Lorelai and Emily see Lorelai's life in completely different terms. By the end of the show, they're firmly back in their estranged battleground."

How long will Christopher stick around?
"Christopher will be here for the wedding, then he'll be gone for a while," Sherman-Palladino says. "He'll show up for another couple of episodes around May. Whenever we feel like Lorelai's life is getting too good, we give Christopher a call. He's always gonna be Rory's dad and he's always gonna be in love with Lorelai, so he remains a complication in her life."

Logan's run
Rory currently has the eye of Logan (Matt Czuchry), but since her arrival at Yale, the belle of Stars Hollow has been significantly less confident when it comes to dating. Is Miss Gilmore — who used to have guys fightin' over her just like Mom — losing her mojo? "She's never had to work hard for a man — Dean and Jess fell at her feet," Sherman-Palladino explains. "Logan is not a little boy. He's got his own demons and baggage, but he's a man, and Rory's never dated a man. Plus, she has this workhouse mentality, while he's more wild and living in the moment. He's also not following her around like a puppy, which is a more interesting place to take her."

A note on Rory's morals
Ever since she hooked up with the very-married Dean, some fans have been fretting for her virtue. Chill out, people, she's hardly destined for unwed teenage motherhood like Lorelai. "Since Rory's away from the safety of home, she's experiencing the growing pains of making her own life decisions and dealing with the consequences," GG's head scribe says. "Rory's a little off-kilter now. That started with the Dean thing. But we wanted to take Rory down that road without having her wake up after a party without her underwear on. That wasn't a slam at Veronica Mars, I like that show. [Laughs] But we're not interested in that for our Rory. There's only so many levels of trashy we can go to with our two scarlet women, Rory and Lorelai. They're scarlet... with maybe a touch of puce."

So what about Dean?
After news of their adulterous tryst broke in Stars Hollow, Rory's renewed romance with Dean quickly soured. But is the lanky, mop-topped hottie really so yesterday? "Dean is sort of in the past," Sherman-Palladino teases. "I think he's going to come back for about three episodes toward the end of the season. We'll always bring back Jared Padalecki because I love him. But actually, the story we're bringing him back for has a lot more impact on Luke than it does on Rory."

What about Jess?
Don't look for Milo Ventimiglia back in Stars Hollow anytime soon. "Jess is gone. He's on American Dreams," quips Sherman-Palladino teases. "Milo showed up at our 100th episode cake-cutting ceremony with these wild sideburns. He's playing this '60s rebel guy. He doesn't look at all like the sweet little boy I remember."

New character alert!
Scoop! Sherman-Palladino reveals she's thisclose to signing a big-name star to join GG as a new regular, but she doesn't want to jinx it by naming names yet. So for now, we'll settle for scoop on the character. "This woman is a trophy wife, slightly older than Lorelai, who comes from Emily and Richard's social world," she says. "She married a much older man who died and left her everything. Now she wants to do something important and be more than just beautiful. So she comes to Emily for advice on opening a major museum in Hartford. Basically, she's saying, 'Can you teach me to be you?' Emily finally has a daughter figure who wants to be like her, so the plan is for this character to cause more conflict in Emily and Lorelai's relationship."

TxAPhi, has anyone told you lately that YOU ROCK!!!

LOVE GILMORE GIRLS!!!!!! LOVE GG SCOOP EVEN MORE!!

GG

I love, love, love the Gilmore Girls!!
I am so glad that Richard and Emily are back together. I think it was about time- there is nothing like their sparring!! I think it was also about time they let Kelly (Emily) show off her real talent- dance. I think the sh!t is going to fit the fan between Emily and Lorelai... again, and just when you thought Emily had turned some kind of a corner!
Oh well, I guess if Emily wasn't pulling her stuff it wouldn't be GG.

PS- I think Lorelai should have had a stripper for her mother's party!! :D

Sheldrakes and Dirty Dancing

Question...
Did anyone else catch this?
Emily kept talking about the Sheldrakes. Does anyone else remember this being the name of another hotel that was robbed by the old people in Dirty Dancing?
Do you think this was another nod to Kelly Bishop's past character as Jennifer Grey's mother? They mentioned Dirty Dancing once before when Rory and Dean were taking dance lessons for her "coming out."
I am an idiot savant and have a very strange memory!
Does anyone else remember any of this or am I totally nuts?
The answer to both can be yes!
Thanks!!
Ali

Thanks sigmagrrl! Although others would say I spend too much time online, but what do they know! ;) Glad I could provide you with your "scoop fix".

Private I 02-09-2005 03:56 PM

I really liked Logan, but I have a feeling Rory is gonna get HURT...she's never had a guy cheat on HER before, so I think this is going to be it. Grrr at the episode where she all thinks he's gonna ask her out then DOESN'T...

vanda 02-23-2005 10:32 AM

Is it me, or is Rory hopping into bed with Logan waaay too quickly?

Lady Pi Phi 02-23-2005 10:36 AM

No, I don't think Rory is moving way to quickly.

valkyrie 02-23-2005 11:45 AM

Can someone explain to me why anybody likes Luke? He's not attractive and all he ever does is yell at everybody. He's like a diner troll or something.

I don't know, I think Luke is attractive...in that scruffy sort of way.

ahh..he may be abrasive sometimes.... but he has a heart of gold. He still helped make the sets for fiddler on the roof even though he didn't have to, and he made Loreli an ice skating rink, any man that made me an ice rink is good in my eyes ! (Course that would be more of a feat in CA than in CT)
I think he would be cute if he took of the flannel and maybe cut his hair a bit.

No you are not crazy, it was the name of a hotel in Dirty Dancing. I don't know if they named it that because of Kelly Bishop though....

I like this change. It took an eternity for her to just become Dean's and Jess' GF, and I guess the writers wanted to make it so that she's now a take charge kind of woman.

Luke is a character. Ditto to the person who said he had a heart of gold. In addition to the ice skating rink, he's also done work on the house free of charge, cried at Rory's Chilton graduation, baked coffee cakes and blew up balloons at his diner on Rory's birthday...the list is endless.

I guess he's just a likeable guy because he's just average, and everyone's rooting for him.

trojangal 02-23-2005 09:49 PM

Luke is kind of that "guy next door" type..well, in this case he is. He's the guy that everybody likes, always can count on, and BAM! one day you realize that he's a gold mine for a relationship. Not all Prince Charmings are going to be the perfect "Mr. Right"....most of them, like Luke, are the "Mr. Friend"

How did you like his cleaning up for the Vow Renewal celebration? He looked good!!

HAHA Dinner Troll I love it! Thats exactly what he is.

You know what really bugged me for awhile is that we always saw him with his hat on and then when he was trying to clean himself up to impress Lorelai, he didnt wear it as much. I was hating him without the hat...some guys just look better with hats on than off...Luke is one of those guys

I'm still not sure what my feelings are on Lorelai and Luke...but it makes for good tv drama.
