NFL Playoffs

Cashmoney's picks:

AFC: Patriots over Steelers
NFC: Eagles over Falcons
Super Bowl XXXIX: Patriots over Eagles

EPTriSigma 01-10-2005 02:58 AM

Against all odds... the Vikings worked the Packers today! It was great. I loved watching Farv's face as he watched the clock run down slowly coming to the realization that he had thrown four interceptions. It was great. The best game of football I have seen the Vikings play all season. I love a great border battle. Beating the Pack on their own turf... what a rush. I love the big deal they are making over Moss' fake moon. Man it's a great day to be a Vikings fan. I had faith all along. I love how the odds in Vegas were 8 to 1.

Proud Minnesotan

Next step: Stuff the Eagles

SSS1365 01-10-2005 07:43 PM

I was happy to see the Jets pull out a win over the Chargers. I have to say they really got lucky that that San Diego kid missed that field goal in OT.

I'm just happy they get to play one more game. Unfortunately, it's in Pittsburgh. They'll have to work hard for a win there. Love the Jets, but I'm not too optimistic about them pulling out a win over the Steelers.

MiamiADPi 01-10-2005 11:53 PM

How can you say pull out?? It was their game, until the Chargers started putting things together in the 4th. And then there's Barton, ahhhh the game would've been done and over with! Barton's lucky that kid missed the field goal.... if he made it the Times, Daily News, and Newsday would've given him so much grief. People finally started shutting up about Pennington and his arm when he threw that pass to Moss for the TD. Although, even when they win there's barely any support. Saturday's going to be an interesting game that's for sure. But I'd much rather play Pitt than have to face New England again. Looking forward to it.... (at least they made the playoffs unlike the Giants who so many say are "the true NY team".)

valkyrie 01-10-2005 11:56 PM

Poor Nate Kaeding. I was cheering for San Diego since he's Iowa peeps, but oh man, I'm glad I'm not him right now. That's rough.

I figured the Broncos would be spanked, but I really don't know who to cheer for now.

DeltaSigStan 01-11-2005 12:26 AM

See, if this were any other NFL city, Nate Kaeding woulda been run outta town......

BTW, I swung by The Walmart couple today...all the Bolt logos and merchandise is gone...Cmon, it hasnt even been two full days and they're off the bandwagon....

You heard it here first: Whoever wins the Colts/Patriots game (It's pretty much 50/50 after considering all factors) will WIN THE SUPER BOWL.

Hear me out: If Peyton can prove he can finally win in Foxboro, then no one can stop him. If the Pats win, they've shown they can stop one of the most prolific offenses ever. Either way, Bill Coward doesn't stand a chance considering the momentum and the history of AFC championship games in Pitt....

Yeah, these aren't the same Steelers....just like those weren't the same Chargers.....

Btw, my dad had a heart attack during a Steelers game and wouldn't go to the hospital until half-time. There he was, in Cardio-Intensive care, mouthing, "THE SCORE!!! WHAT IS THE SCORE!!!!!"

The Steelers pulled that one out, too!

NutBrnHair 01-11-2005 03:37 AM

Go Peyton, Go

I'm a Tennessee fan through & through -- I'm pulling for my Peyton to carry his great regular season through the playoffs.

GO COLTS.

Naw, go head...I'll admit they had the Pat's number earlier this season, and they made Tom Brady look like Kerry Collins/Jake Plummer/David Carr.

If there's a rematch though, it's a whole new ballgame in the postseason.

mmcat 01-11-2005 09:00 AM

let's just hear it for another weekend of super games...
those were a delight to watch.
i'm a bear fan so i'm nothing but patient.

Stan your hatred for San Diego makes me laugh. WHy hate a town with such beautiful people? Ok, well I know the real reson why you hate San Diego. But c'mon, you root for a team that you have no affiliation with, and you've never even been to boston, let alone foxboro!

admit it, you are the fan that we all call the "anti-bandwagon bandwagoner". you rooted for the pats when you were in 8th grade only because everyone went for the packers. then once the pats started winning a few years ago, you claimed that they were always your team, basically... you forgot to hop off the bandwagon.

admit it, your filipino ass is so-cal for life biotch. LOVE IT BABY.

oh and btw, the FALCONS are going to win it all. Thats right. THE FALCONS.

why? because their mascot is a bird and birds go, " aaaahhhhhhhh aaawwwwwww!!!!!"

ZZ-kai- 01-11-2005 12:40 PM

2005

Pack in 2005, here's why:

Trade Ahman Green away for some D-backs. Start Najeh Davenport in place of Green. Sign the O-line one last time, keep Favre one more year. Keep Walker, Driver, Fergusson and Bubbles-Franks.

If we get D-back, Packers will own the NFC next year.

PS, whats the difference between a bag of shit and the Vikings? the bag.

Glitter650 01-11-2005 01:12 PM

I just want to know what happened to my 49ers, 'cause, quite frankly THEY SUCK and they didn't used to. Makes me sad.

I said they "pulled out" a win because they really are lucky that they won that game, for so many reasons. Barton was damn lucky that Kaeding missed the field goal... did you see the look of utter relief on his face when the game finally did end? It was funny... You know that would have been an awkward plane ride home for him if they hadn't won. I was so happy to see Pennington throw that long pass after all the crap people had been talking about his arm and him not being able to throw very far... What was that, 47 yards or so? He showed them! It was a beautiful pass, and a beautiful catch.

Like I said, I don't expect to win this weekend against the Steelers... but if they do manage to win, there are no words that can describe how happy I will be! Lets go JETS! :D

I shall not come to the dark side. I shall not support the Jets. My will power is strong.

Nah, homey....I LOVE San Diego...I cannot stand The Chargers and the city's attitude towards them. The Padres at least got their park and have found a niche within our residents (Hence one reason CH4 Padres is always on)...The Chargers don't know how to really connect to the city. If so, they'd have a new stadium by now (and not funded by us either...)

Cmon man, NO ONE went for The Packers down here, at least the people I was around, cause I was still in high school, and they were all still Charger fans. Don't think I put away my Bledsoe jersey two years after they lost to the Pack just because they were terrible....

SD will always be my hometown (and yes, we have the hottest girls in Cali let alone the country), but Boston is where the dynasty will continue...

I'll cheer for the Pats in SD, you can cheer for the dirty birds in Pomona.

JupiterTC 01-17-2005 12:31 PM

My playoff prediction:

The Carolina Panthers will wear the Steeler's uniforms, and win it all.

Hey, a girl can dream

APhi Sailorgirl 01-17-2005 12:42 PM

I would like to say THANK GOD THE PATRIOT'S BEAT THE COLTS!!!!! :D

Not that i didn't think they would win.

I am so freaking tired of hearing about Payton Manning, Eli Manning, and their father, blah blah blah.

The worse part is that Mastercard is using Payton in its commericials and a majority of the country has no idea who he is.

And I would personally like to see the Falcons beat the Eagles, I can't stand any of Pennsylvania's teams.

Now if my hometown team the Redskins could actually get a good roster......

SSS1365 01-17-2005 06:03 PM

Ok, as a Jets fan, Doug Brien is so not my favorite person right now. We would have HAD that game if he had just made that damn field goal at the end of the 4th! Damn it all to hell! Not that I'm bitter or anything... :p

I honestly don't really care about any of the remaining teams. I'm pulling for the Steelers only because I'd like to be able to AT LEAST say that the Jets almost beat the Super Bowl champs. As for the NFC, I'll probably root for the Falcons just to root against my 15-y/o brother-in-law, who is a HUGE Eagles fan. Doesn't matter anyway because I honestly believe that whichever AFC team goes is going to win it all. The AFC was just a much better league this season. And I'll be in London during the Super Bowl anyway, so I can be among other people who don't give a rat's ass about it.

Thrillhouse 01-17-2005 08:18 PM

Amen! I'm so sick of hearing out this guy. I looved how the patriots fans were chanting "Cut that meat!" at him as he left the stadium yesterday.

As much as it nauseates me, I'm going to have to root for Philly because I want Bill Belachoad to fall on his ass.

Don't get me started on the Ben and Tom hug picture on the front of the paper today (insert gagging smiley here).

I blame this on the Pompeani family, because (as I said earlier) Bob said "when we go to Jacksonville" and because Bruce couldn't keep his penis in his pants. (I know not NFL related, but still)

SSS1365 01-24-2005 12:17 PM

Although I don't want my 15-y/o brother-in-law, who is an Eagles fan, to be able to gloat... I'll have to pull for the Eagles now. Unfortunately I really think the Patriots will stomp all over them, but I am so damn tired of the Patriots right now. They have become the Yankees of football.
