One Good Thing Today!
 

I know it's late, but please do not exclude yourself because of it. I've been thinking about the thread concerning "how was 2004?" and since my year pretty much tanked, I thought I'd turn it around.

So, starting this day, I am going to try to think of one good thing every day that happened, or I can realistically appreciate - AND, I'm going to try to continue this throughout the year (to the best of my ability, at least!). Please feel free to join me!


Today, I got a form which, once I fill it out and send it in, could net as much as $3,000 tax free! This does not include my income tax form, which will also result in a refund (thank you, oh Tax Table which makes my employer take an obscene amount out of my weekly pay!).

today, i found so many sales. i had fun driving around town cause it was so quiet for a saturday cause of new year's. it was great.

Today I got to spend the day with my mom watching the Rose Bowl parade and football games (not normally a college football game watcher, but it's the best way to start off a new year!) and help out around the house with little chores :)

Okay, I'll play!

Today I went to a Rose Bowl Party and enjoyed a great game! Then I went to one of the great sales and got a new pair of boots for less than half off of the original price!! I love boots and feel I need at least a new brown and black pair each year! Woo hoo for my bargain.

today i am thankful for it being a nice relaxing day!

I got to spend the evening with a really great friend and got to go to Flood (a contemporary Christian church down near SDSU) for the first time in about two months :)

Yesterday, I got to sit down and sing with my folk/bluegrass band in the afternoon....we had so much fun!

Yesterday, I finally conquered the creation of my own web site! It was a wonderful feeling - but I stayed up MUCH too late, working on it.



Today, I lost a pound! Woo Hoo! 419 more to go!!

Only three of my kids showed up today!!! It was such a wonderfully, relaxing day. (The ones missing where my child with down's, my child adhd and my child with cerebral palsy (and he's a whiner)).

Yesterday, I went walking after dinner with my mom.....I've already started to fulfill one of my goals for this year---exercise more often!

Today I worked out for the 3rd time this year (yay for keeping a resolution so far!!) and got a late Christmas card in the mail from a friend that I lost touch with years ago.

Tonight went to a great singing!

Also, met a lady who is going to help my singing group get booked for City Stages (cross your fingers) this summer!!!!

Somehow I miraculously remembered to bring my umbrella to work with me. This is awesome since throughout the day the temperature has dropped nearly 30 degrees and it is pouring! Texas weather for ya!

Managed to convince my mother that a few of her "friends" are users. It hurt to do so, but she feels SO much better now that she doesn't feel guilt tripped!

Got to go formal dress shopping with my mother which was nice (found 1 and it is absolutely gorgeous!!), finished watching Will & Grace season 1, and celebrated my uncle and cousin's birthdays.

Today, I finally got out to my house, and there's been NO flooding, or any other natural disasters - including that "unused" smell!

Totally jealous!!!!!!!


Sorry I really can't think of one good thing today. The day is over and CSI is coming on. I'm exhausted and I miss my brother and my heart hurts because he is slated to leave for Kuwait on Monday and I won't get to talk to him for a year.

I'm sure you'll get to talk to him! Just not face to face. All the services have really good programs set up to help deployed members talk with their loved ones back home. There are telephone calls, instant messaging, video teleconfrences and good ole snail mail. Once he gets there, get his snail mail address from him and I'll send him a big box of goodies. I get to send stuff for free via the military postal system!
Also- Kuwait is one of the safest places in the middle east right now. Keep thinking of the positives and the year will fly by.

I found out that I haven't been imagining things, that my autoimmune system has been compromised again. A few years ago, it laid me low for 13 months; hopefully I've nipped it in the bud this time!

I went to the Gamma Upsilon's Housing Corp. meeting today. I got to see their beautiful new house for the first time as well as meet other Gamma Upsilon and Gamma Chi Alumnae. :D

Bought some things from Michael's for fun ADPi crafts for next semester. Sooo many ideas, I'm so excited!!

I went back two more generations on my family tree (even though it was a branch I hadn't been "attending")!

Although, for those of y'all who may get into genealogy, Family Tree Maker (the latest version, anyhow) is giving me fits!! I actually tried to completely uninstall it and then retype the 18 pages of material I had thus far, and couldn't even do that!!

*edited to add: I think I finally have it!! It's a small beginning, but I'm real proud of it!! AND, I didn't have to retype a thing - Woo Hoo!!

I got to spend the weekend in various pajamas. I've been feeling pretty crappy lately... so being able to chill out... wear the most comfy pajamas ever and watch movies all weekend was quite nice.
