Favorite Gifts from this year's holidays?

I'm just curious as to what YOUR favorite gift was from this holiday season (Christmas, birthday (for some :D), etc).

So far my favorite has been the die-cutter I got from my mom to cut out letters, shapes, etc for scrapbooking or making greeting cards, but I can't also discount the Starbucks Gift Cards ;) (boy am I hooked on coffee or what??? )

My DH and I received Cranium from one of my brothers. We all already played it today. What a fun game! DH and I won too!

My favorite gift is a photo printer. I have had a digital camera for 2 years now and I'm horrible about printing any out. Now I have no excuse!!!

I love my scrapbooking things, too!! My plan is to make scrapbooks to "flesh out" my genealogy. Now to decide which color of scrapbook to use for which lineages!

I also got a LOT of books that I've been wanting, and of course, anything that mr. honeychile gives me is always treasured! :)

I'm super excited about my LOTR trilogy dvd's that I got---I've already watched them all!!

My other favorite is my pin/ring that my mom ordered for me from giftmart---but it's sad that it hasn't come in yet :(

MiamiADPi 12-27-2004 02:11 PM

I got the LOTR trilogy too!! Can't wait to watch the extended version of ROTK, maybe I'll do that today since I'm snowed in.

My favorite gift (besides being home for the holidays ;) ), would be my pin box from my 9 year old brother. He said he saved all his money since September to make sure he had enough to buy the one I wanted. It was definitely an ADPi Christmas. :)

Which pin box did you get? I'm always lecturing about having a "real" pin box!! I don't think they make mine anymore - it's oval, with the crest on it.

There are a few things that didn't come yet, and I'm really hoping that one is the Jewel Degree dangle!!

IPOD!!!! Now I don't have to be in a daze while staring at the people in the gym... Now, I can rock out!!!

...the silver star with our letters. I liked the round silver one with the crest too, but the star just really jumped out at me.

When I first came home and showed my pin to the family, my brother said, "THAT'S IT?! I BOUGHT SOMETHING BIG FOR SOMETHING SMALL?!" (he's not very good at keeping secrets- lol). It may be tiny, but it's sooo precious. They'll just never understand,

lmcsuc, enjoy your iPod!! I have mine with me almost all the time, it's great to be able to go anywhere and have your entire music library in your pocket. :) --- I find I'm in more of a daze with it though, lol, especially when I'm walking to class... people sometimes have to tap me from behind or wave like crazy to get my attention. Oops!

My favorite gift this year was not a Christmas gift, it was a birthday gift. My DH bought me two gifts this year for my birthday, the first one we have celebrated together as husband and wife. He bought me "Polar Express", which was very special because my belated Granny read this to the grandchildren every year. He even bought a sleigh bell to keep with the book. I havne't had the heart to read it yet, but I will to my Dh and my Ds. The other gift was a pair of beautiful heart-shaped blue topaz earrings. The only jewelry he has ever bought me was my promise ring and engagement ring. This was a very precious gift. I'm so proud of him. Not because he bought me something, but because he put so much tought into it. Just wanted to share.

I have to give a little background information first before I say what my fave gift was this year. For years I have put my makeup on sitting on the floor in front of my mirrored closet doors. I simply have the hardest time standing up leaning over the sink to put my makeup on. I just can't get close enough to see. SO - this year my husband got me a vanity mirror and chair so I no longer have to sit on the floor. Totally awesome and absolutely made my day!

ASUADPi 12-31-2004 01:18 AM

This might sound kind of lame, but my favorite gift was that my brother was able to come home for Christmas. :)

Em, I got ROTK special edition too. LOL. The extended scenes I thought were "so-so" but I loved the deleted scenes (especially between Eowyn and Faramir, which if you haven't watched those scenes GO WATCH THEM NOW!!!!!!)

For my birthday my present was getting to see Jennie, so that was an awesome gift too.

edit: Oh I forgot, my parents gave me a washer and a dryer. LOL. They bought new ones so I get the old ones, which is totally fine by me because that is two less things I have to buy for the house. THANK GOD!!!

Yeah, that was fun, wasn't it ;)

Now we'll (hopefully) get to do it again around Convention (which will only be a little more than a month later than MY birthday, so it all works out! :D)

I received a bunch of neat gifts this year for both Christmas & graduation, but I think the one I am most thankful for is that my whole family was able to get together. The snow was pretty cool too ;)

Since I live so far away from my parents, it is rare that I ever get to see them. My older sister lives in Austin, and is doing the whole "career thing" so she rarely gets to see them also. Christmas, Thanksgiving & Easter are the few "for sure" times that we're able to all get together. I also think it was kind of cool that it snowed Christmas Eve... in South Texas of all places! When my family came up for my graduation, my dad jokingly said "I'm not leaving till I see snow!!!!" ... and 3 days after they left, it snowed like crazy up here :p My dad has wanted a white christmas for years, and this year, it was pretty neat that he got it. Since the snow lasted so long, and it was pretty windy outside Christmas Eve, our electricity went out... so we all hung out in the living room by the fireplace singing Christmas songs and telling funny stories. It was the best Christmas party we've ever had :)

my favorite gift is my laptop with a printer/scanner. i am glued to the screen and i want to scan everything in sight!!:p

ADPiShannan 01-04-2005 12:43 PM

I really stressed the importance of family and friends this year and not gifts, but it was like by doing that, I got even better gifts. I didnt intend for that to happen at all. I just was thankful to be able to make it home to spend the time with my family. The week before Christmas we had about 40 inches of snow and the night before we left, we were thrown an ice storm so it was very hard to get home. Thankfully, we went that day, cause the next day about 10 more inches came.

All in all I had a great Christmas. I would say my best gift was seeing my family.

Id also say my new vehicle. My parents totally spoil me and even though I have a car thats only like 4 years old, they knew how much Ive been complaining about this snow and weather here and how much I hate it. I had to wait in traffic one night to get home for 3 hours and it nornally takes 10-15mins. So they went out and got me a SUV. Its 4 wheel drive and has a moonroof and all the nice stuff in it. I love it best of all cause its 3 row seating and I feel like lately my car is too small to haul all the junk around we have, plus I want kids in the next few years so this is totally perfect...

I got a new Coach purse from my ex boyfriend, well we were togther up until New Year's Eve. I also got some new Nine West boots from my parents, and some Chanel Chance perfume. Those are my faves.

My favorite gift was probably the tractor crossing sign I got from my friend Melissa. It is a very long story and goes back to all of the boring nights up in Flagstaff and our drives from Phoenix to Coolidge.

I also like the atomic wall clock I got from my uncle because I can tell my dad how freezing it is in our house. My room is 65 degrees so I am now thinking I should have borrowed my roomate's down comforter since she didn't need it in Hawaii.

My other christmas presents all had to do with my NASCAR driver Tony Stewart so all I have to do is make sure my friend Darin never comes to visit me so I don't have to worry about stuff going missing. Darin likes Tony Stewart and steals all of the stuff I don't have. I got my birthday present and had to run and lock it in my truck so he wouldn't steal it.

I wish it would have snowed here. I am glad I am not in Flagstaff right now because yesterday they got a record of 14 inches and here in Tucson I got flooding. It is too bad my 4 wheeled drive is broken cuz I think my pretty white Explorer wants to turn brown. I love being a country girl.

ADPiShannan 01-06-2005 08:57 AM

more Tony stuff. lol. Awesome. I got some Jamie McMurray sweats and a sweatshirt and my mom gave me our tickets for the races she has already. We get big discounts cause of having family. So Daytona 500 here I come. I am counting it down. I miss Nascar every weekend.

LOL - my very first ambition in life was to be the first woman to win the Daytona 500!! It was always a "Daddy & me" day, when we watched it together.

MiamiADPi 01-08-2005 07:44 AM

Yay for more NASCAR fans!!! Even though I'm from Long Island I was raised a HUGE racing fan. Our Daytona 500 party is bigger than our Christmas party. It's funny cause everyone in my fam has a different driver and things sometimes get pretty ugly (Dad's a Jeff Gordon fan, Mom's - Bobbly Labonte, my brother's Jimmy Johnson, and I like Tony Stewart). Can't wait to go to another race.... it's been a while.

LOL for NASCAR!!

When my elder brother was just a teenager, he started training, and ended up winning a LOT of races! His car was also "Petty Blue", so we're a Petty family. My mother was a fan of the Intimidator, my Dad & I stuck it out with the Pettys, and lately, my brother's been a Dale Jr fan. I guess my mother & I will have to find new "heroes" next month!

ADPiShannan 01-08-2005 04:44 PM

My family is from Nascar country so we have been fans and friends of many drivers since I was a baby. Esp my grandpa. He worked for several race teams as a mechanic ever since I was a baby, now hes retired, but I have 2 uncles and 4 cousins who all work for Nascar teams so it always been something Ive loved. When we lived in NC I always wanted to be a driver. I used to dream of it all the time. I often wonder what would have happened if we hadnt moved when I was 9. I know Id probably grow up with some of those drivers. I know I used to race go carts when I was a kid. I miss those days. Its fun now to see the races and root for diff teams and know my family helped their car run so it makes me very proud. Not to mention how adorable so many of the drivers are. I know when we go back to the pits I always stare and the hubbys like put your tongue back in your mouth ha ha ha....

I am a Jamie McMurray fan since before he was a rookie.
I also love Jr cause my cousin works for his team.
My hubby likes Robby Gordon
We have other fmaily scattered around for other teams but those 2 ar emy faves.

EXiADPi 01-10-2005 04:01 PM

I'm excited I am not the only NASCAR nut. My chapter makes fun of me but they know every Sunday to only bother me if Tony is doing well. One of my other sisters is a Waltrip fan so it gets interesting at times. My best friend Melissa never understood why I loved this NASCAR stuff so much. After we watched Shrek 2 I turned on the Phoenix race and there was only 30 laps left so she allowed me to watch it. Well she got into it after I answered a few questions for her and Dale Jr. opened his mouth. She likes Dale Jr. because he sounds like Boomhower from King of the Hill.

My dad likes the Viagra car Mark Martin and my mom can't make up her mind who she likes but leans toward Jimmy Johnson.

My brother's boss is the biggest Earnhardt fan so during the summer I get calls from her asking what the heck was Tony thinking.

My friend Steve is reigning supreme over Darin and I because his driver Kurt Busch won the cup.

I can't wait for Vegas March 10-14. Someday I will make it to Daytona but Phoenix and Vegas will have to do.

honeychile 01-10-2005 08:58 PM

Okay, true confessions time...

I was on the "Pitt Crew" when I was in college - for PR, of course. I got to drive the car a couple times, and the first time I got it over 130 mph, I freaked and knew that I'd never make it as a driver!

But it was FUN!!!!! :D

PennyCarter 01-10-2005 11:13 PM

I had an AMAZING Christmas, probably the best EVER! My parents got me 2 wonderful long coats, my favorite is a long pink tweed coat and some fabulous nine west boots (all on sale, I helped my mom ;))

My boyfriend did wonderful too--fabulous diamond earrings. I haven't taken them out since I got them! (I'm afraid I'll lose 'em) They were perfect because we've had a rough year and there's been a lot of talk about engagement rings--we've been together just over 2 years and we were so on the track to engagement til we started having problems a few months ago....things are so much better now, but I'm still not ready for a ring--I don't wanna be engaged til I know for sure all the bad stuff is behind us, so the earrings were PERFECT and a hint of what could be yet to come.
