The Apprentice 3 - January 20

After that disasterous fiasco of the 2nd season, particularly the finale, we can only hope that the 3rd season will redeem Trump and the show. This season's premise: Book Smarts v. Street Smarts.

A sneak peek at the candidates and the numerous fashion faux-pas they committed according to QuackWabbit @ fansofrealitytv.com:

Here's to a much greatly improved season!

I was listening to one of the Boston radio stations, and apparently one of the new contenders on the Apprentice was an intern at a station here in Boston. They had his internship coordinator on the air, and she said that he was an absolutely horrible intern; didn't show up for work on time, and when he did didn't do much. I can't remember his name, but I remember them saying he graduated from BC for undergrad.

Tonight's the premiere - 8:30pm. Hope this one is much better than the last one, or I won't be watching it again.

Anyway, enjoy the show!

This was the first Apprentice I've ever watched and it seems like it will be good.. I'm liking the Street Smarts team though..I know too many people with lots of book smarts and no common sense..

Off to a good start!

This much I can say, it looks as though it will mirror Season 1 as far as the elimnation process goes (ie, no surprises).

As far as the "villianous black women" reality tv myth goes, well it looks like thus far, this season may dispel that myth; Verna and Tara are thus far well liked by viewers and team members alike(notable ep point: Verna rolling her eyes frequently at Danny's campfire songs and "UNBELIEVEABLE" cheerleader antics).

The only brother on the show, Craig, had virtually no airtime, so his performance has yet to be determined.

So far, those on the hit list are Danny and Erin, with Tana being an honorable mention (some say that the dog peeing on her foot was poetic justice).

Stay tuned...

Well, I was sad that Verna walked off last nite (being a sistah and all). This season seems a little raunchy to me. Everyone is ghetto, doing all that cussing and stuff. Last season, I had kind of picked out Kelly as being the Apprentice after like the second episode b/c he fit the mold. In this case, I'm clueless as to who might win.

ETA: Verna is a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha

Is Verna a soror also? I'd heard that the black lady on the street smarts team is a soror.

skeeliteful 01-28-2005 12:59 PM

It's rumored that the black lady on the street's smart team is a Soror from University of Virginia. But since it's said that no one on the street's smart team has had college education, I don't think it's true. I dunno

I've never heard that Verna was a Soror.

I wondered if any of the contestants were Greek. As for the street smart team, they do not have degrees. I remember reading about at least one of them going to college, but not completing their studies. But, I may be wrong.

Did you all watch this last night? Am I the only one that thinks that this season is already better than the last two seasons?

They are OFF THE CHAIN!

Seeing her quit the team and walk off convinced me of this.

OTOH, if she is a Pan Hell Greek period, I will be very surprised indeed...

Hi everyone,

Just letting you know that it is a *fact* that Tara Dowdell did attend the University of Virginia from 1994-1998. I attended (and graduated ;))from 1993-1997.

She did not receive her degree because she owed money to the Registrar's office.

In spite of the situation with her degree, I am very proud to see her on "The Apprentice." It makes me even more proud to be a UVA graduate.

Rain Man 02-02-2005 05:52 PM

Wanna try out for The Apprentice but you don't like Donald Trump?

Well, now you can be The Apprentice for Martha Stewart!

According to pagesix, "NOBODY recognized the "beauty" who was locking lips with Matt Dillon on the streets of Greenwich Village a few months ago. But now we know her as Tara Dowdell, one of the contestants on the current season of "The Apprentice." Turns out she's been dating Dillon off and on for a year, and that he's big on public displays of affection. The day they were kissing on the street, they'd just come out of the Angelica after seeing a documentary together."
