Stupid Things That Make You Happy
 

Sometimes its the little things in life that you make you happy, and I recently got a bottle opener that does just that.

I bought a bottle opener from Klein Tools because I thought that it was cool. It looks like a screwdriver, but its a bottle opener. So I got the Klein 98002BT "beverage tool," and now I'm buying a lot of bottled beverage just to use it because it makes opening bottles so much fun.

Two years ago for Christmas, I got some kind of gymnastics Barbie that I would play with when I got bored. (I asked for it, by the way!) That was completely ridiculous but it made me feel really peaceful.

When the odometer on my car has a cool read out, like 14141 or when it would hit an even ten thousand (20,000 or 30,000 etc).

When dates do that too, like when it was 6/7/89

I wanted it for Chirstmas like 2 years ago, and I got it. My mom wasn't very happy with me, cause apparently it was one of the hot toys of the year and she told me that moms have gotten more agressive since the days of Cabbage Patch Kids. But mommie pulled through!!

AGDee- I LOVE when my odometer does stuff like that too. I piled all my friends in my car when it was gonna roll over to 100,000. We popped a bottle of sparkling apple cider...and then got pulled over by the cops. He got a kick out of it though. No ticket given.

A guy friend of mine gave me a Ninja Turtle w/ Ooze for Christmas. Yeah, I'm 21 but the Ninja turtles still rock my socks off! The ooze is so fun to play with while sitting at the computer or any other time I'm wasting time.

I found this moose at target that was called on the package "Bust A Moose" and if you squeeze his foot he plays "bust a moove" and dances while his antlers swirl around. It's so goofy and I hate that it's a christmas decoration but it makes me soo happy! I just like playing him randomly too.

A reindeer that you open and put sugar babies into his belly. When you press his head, he "poops" sugar babies!

I had one of these on my desk in Alaska. It is called "The Poop Moose" and you can put all kinds of candy in it. They make other critters as well.

I gave so many of these as gifts, they are hysterically funny.

I have lots of little things that make me happy....

I love voicemails...and text messages...and unexpected cards in the mail. Messages make me happy!

I have this blanket that my friend made me last year for Christmas. It's leopard print with this hot pink background and it is super soft and I love cuddling up to it when it's cold outside with a big cup of hot chocolate...it makes me relax and feel so cozy. Absolutely love it!

This just made me very happy.

I went in the nearby Eckerd over lunch and they were playing or rather CRANKING Bon Jovi's Greatest Hits.

I have a feeling the manager is out for the next two weeks and the people stuck working there have had it with Christmas music.

when I skimmed this thread I read this post as you buying a "bottom opener that looks like a screwdriver" . . wierd mental image.

After careful rereading the post makes a lot more sense as bottle opener . . . .

Besides my bottle opener, these stupid things make me happy:

Hot chocolate on a cold winter day.

Dogs who start to spasticly kick a leg when you rub them in a certain spot, because it makes them happy for some reason.

Mallard ducks. Especially the ones at Lilly Pond in Battery Park City because these wild ducks have quasi-self-domesticated themselves. Whenever someone rolls a stroller by this pond, the ducks swim right up to the stroller because it usually means meal time. That always puts a smile on my face.

when both of my kitties lay in my bed or on the couch with me. It makes me feel happy that they want to curl up by mommy...especially if daddy is on the bed in the other room, and they lay with me instead!!
Also, when the birds sit on my porch and chirp and the cats will sit at the door and make that cawing sound that cats make when they see a bird. It cracks me up
