What are you thankful for?
In the spirit of Thanksgiving(Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, btw), what are you most thankful for in your sorority/fraternity?
I'm thankful for having a home away from home and a family of sisters that has proved to be stronger than most of my relationships with true family. |
I'm thankful for my loving, healthy family. All the rest is just icing on the cake, as far as I'm concerned :)
Happy Thanksgiving, GreekChatters!!! |
I'm thankful for the love of my sisters, their constant support, and the stability they bring to my life. They are the most wonderful group of women I could ask for, and I am grateful they are in my life. I love them and am very proud to call them my sisters!
Happy Thanksgiving, KTK *gobble*gobble* bytheway - good luck shopping tomorrow ladies and gents! be careful in the mobs! :D ;) |
Having Family even though it is not many (3) of us and unable to see them that much.
Good Friends who I can spend Holidays with when I cannot get home, My second Family where I will be spending Thanksgiving Day with! Last but not in the least, My LXA Brothers who I keep in close contact with and The People of G C who many have become fast friends!:) Hope everyone has an enjoyable Thanksgiving Day, just dont eat till you puke!;) May there be left overs to munch on till the next Holiday which is just around the corner. BTW, went by local K-Mart and the damn parking lot was jammed to the gills! |
I'm thankful that it has been a real family for me, and that I have brothers who are always (and I mean always) there for me.
|
I am thankful for the love and support my sisters have given me. Besides my spouse and in-laws, I don't have any family nearby (they are 3000 miles away). My sisters in my alumnae chapter and my cyber sisters are the best!
|
I am thankful for those who have been there and who will be there: mom, the family, my friends. For the shelter I have and the food I eat, and the individuals that continue to bless me every day.
To my Alpha Gams -- the girls of Delta Sigma both young and old, who are always happy to see me just as if they haven't seen me in forever. To the sisters I met this summer in Chicago and to those I have yet to meet, I am one lucky gal because I'm so privileged to call you my sisters. To greeklawgirl, squirrely girl, and mu_agd: ya'll are my soulsisters who know me sometimes better than I know myself. It sucks that we're separated by an ocean and miles, but we'll be together soon! Thank you to my H&A sisters: People may hate us and curse voodoo spells on us, but I value the things you have taught me and all the times y'all let me cry over and over and over again because of some fucker that fucked me over. H&A Convention Hawai`i. YES. And I'm thankful for the not-BF because after all these years and despite the people that come between us, he thinks I'm still a hot mama and he's still my sexy beast. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families, GC! |
I am thankful that my mom was here with us for another Thanksgiving.
I am thankful that ALL of us were well this year, for the first time in many years, none of us were acutely ill. I am thankful that I have a job that I love with people who are great (even if I do have days that I don't feel like going in). I'm thankful for the two bright little interesting people who are my children. They bring me so much joy and pride. I'm thankful for my neighbors who are always there to lend a hand when things go awry. I'm thankful for my health, above everything else, since my Crohn's is finally in remission and I'm feeling so good now. I'm thankful for my dog who is the absolute most wonderful canine on earth. I'm thankful that the ice and snow that fell last night has melted already. I'm thankful for all that Alpha Gamma Delta has given me over the years. Dee |
I'm thankful for having a wonderful family who would do anything for me.
I'm thankful that my dad might be able to enjoy Christmas with us this year. I'm thankful that I have so many things that I need as well as things I just want. I'm thankful that I have at least 4 wonderful friends that will listen to me cry no matter what time it is. I'm thankful that I got the chance to be apart of an amazing sisterhood known as Delta Gamma. I'm thankful for having an amazing guy who has stuck with me for so long even though I don't deserve him at all. I'm so happy I got the chance to fall in love with someone like him. I'm so lucky that I found another best friend. I'm thankful that my anemia has allowed me to still be normal. Most of all, I'm thankful that I'm alive and (mostly) well. |
In general:
I'm thankful for a loving and wonderful husband and good health. I'm thankful for loving and supportive family that live just a short drive away. I'm thankful for all the blessings that have been bestowed upon me. For Kappa: I'm thankful for the ladies who lived with me during my time in the house and saw me through some of the worst and best times of my college years. I'm thankful for what my fraternity has given and taught me, even though those lessons haven't always been easy. I'm thankful for a wonderful core of advisors and Fraternity volunteers who are willing to do anything to help the chapter we advise. I'm thankful for a wonderful chapter council who have really taken big strides in returning their chapter to the ideals of our fraternity. |
I'm thankful for having a great group of women to back me up and that are always there for me. I'm thakful for finding some of my best friends in greek life, both in SDT and outside of SDT
|
I'm thankful for knowing that people believe in us. We're a brand new local, but we have some awesome support. I'm also thankful that we're NOT all best friends, cause best friends are sometimes TOO close, and we all need our space sometimes!

Im thankful for the fact that the Lord decided to let me live another day and to continue breathing. Im sure Ill have more tomorrow after I sleep on it some.....;-) [/color] |
I am thankful that my sisters and mother are healthy and employed. That wasn't the case last year (both of my sisters were downsized in 2003) so this Thanksgiving is an improvement.

I don't want to list the cliche answers: friends, family, SAI sisters. Not that I'm NOT thankful for those...certainly I am. But I want to post other things. :)
1. I have Tietze Syndrome but I haven't had as many attacks lately, and I'm so glad, because they're painful. 2. I'm thankful for new friendships. In the past year, I have become close with about 4 people who I've known for a long time (because we're all in the music department), but never really got to know until more recently, and these people have become some of my best friends. One, a guy named TJ, actually transferred to Memphis but he found my livejournal so we've been chatting. I knew him for the last 3 years but never really got to know him. NOw that I have, I'm sad that I didn't know him sooner. But, better a late start than no start. :) 3. I'm thankful for musical talent. Being a music major is so stressful, demanding, and tiring...but I can't think of a more rewarding career. While my non-music friends are doing labs and endless research papers and whatnot, I take saxophone lessons. I learn to arrange music for different types of ensembles. I learn to conduct large ensembles. I play lead in our jazz band. Not that these are easy courses...HELL NO. They're just as challenging, I promise. But pursuing something as a career that has always been such an integral part of my life is a great thing. And even if my classes are hard, I'd rather be playing my instrument/conducting/studying music theory than anything in the world. Not everyone has an ear for music, but for whatever reason, God decided to hand that ability to me, and I plan to further and develop my art throughout my life. 4. I'm thankful for livejournal. I know that's weird...but lj has helped me stay connected with friends, both ones who I see every day and those who have graduated or moved away. We keep up with each others lives and have our own little community there. I always look forward to reading everyones' daily entries and their comments on mine. 5. I'm thankful to simply BE in college. No one else in my family (besides my brother) got the opportunity to go. |
I'm thankful for my family, friends, and of course my wonderful phi mu sisters! I'm thankful that I have the life that I have. I tend to sometimes forget that my life really is pretty damn good compared to the lives some people have, so I don't need to complain.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYBODY!! :D |
i am thankful to God for my family, my health, my friends, and i am thankful i am a brother in the best damn Fraternity ever, PI KAPPA ALPHA.
|
First of all, I am thankful for having a JOB this year! :D
As for APO, I am thankful for all my wonderful brothers, especially all the new ones I've met here. :) |
First of all, I'm thankful for my life, health, and those things.
Greek life is truly a privilege that I'm blessed to have an opportunity to experience. I'm thankful for my chapter's new found growth and positive attitude. I'm thankful to be able look at all 60 of their wonderful faces at initiations and know that we are all bonded by those vows. I'm thankful for the money and time we've contributed to our philanthropy and thankful that so many children have benefitted from our play therapy wings at Children's Med. Center (Dallas) & UNC-Chapel Hill Hosp. As far as Kappa Phi, I'm just thankful for it's very existence. I'm thankful for thousands of university women to be able to gather with each other in Christian fellowship. |
