What is your chair?
What is your current chair? What responsibilities do you have as that chair? What other chairs have you held?
I'm the incoming Marshal for Kappa (in charge of ritual basically). My position starts in December.
I'm currently and will remain as such- the website coordinator for my chapter as well. As for APO, I only joined this semester, and I got to be VP of Fellowship / Membership for my pledge class, but no actual real active chair yet... my only job as VP of F/M was to make sure our pledge class did it's fellowship event. |
I'm the PR Chair. My job is to create and maintain the website, to submit any "blurbs" about our events such as our Blood Drive to the school newspaper, and to write up a caption about the sorority for the school's new SGA website.
I'm fundraising chair until Christmas break. I'm in charge of raising $$$ for our new house construction project at the moment.
I'm Education Chair. I plan at least one major educational seminar for our fall or spring week (could be panel discussion, bringing a speaker, having a forum, etc) on a variety of topics from politics to current events to controversial issues, and also am in charge of co-sponsoring other events that other organizations may have and helping out with them (once again, from a myriad of different topics). I actually really love this position, it's a great feeling knowing you are educating people and changing their minds on certain issues!
this semester, i'm the president-elect. i pretty much handle all committee work, and work in the absence of the president . also, after my term, i automatically become president. i'm also the PR chair and MGC council delegate
I'm currently Ritual Chair, but I'm taking on VP of Public Relations & Recruitment in January--I can't wait!! :D
On the alumni chapter, I'm the recorder. I take minutes of alumni meetings, I keep the mailing list, I send out newsletters and weekly email updates, my job is to keep alums informed and connected. I also help the actives keep the website content updated.
On our chapter advisory committee, I'm the go-to guy for the treasurer and our honor council (aka standards, j-board, etc.). |
I was homecoming chair..
basically i made everyone sign up for the hundreds of homecoming events, got pomps for our float, got a trailer for our float, got the secret place to build the float, all the lumber and chicken wire, went to meetings (15 in all), made sure everyone showed up to their events that they signed up for, made sure our homecoming partners were doing what they were supposed to, etc.. it was stressful to say the least! but im running for homecoming committee.. now ill be in charge, bwah ha ha. |

others: Philanthropy Chairman Greek Council Rep IFC rep ( I was Vice-President for one year) Books for Kids Chair |
I'm the co-social chair, webmaster, and fundraiser. Co-social was the one I actually wanted, I was the only person who had enough of a clue about HTML to be webmaster, and fundraiser got dumped on me and the other girl in my pledge class, because they forgot to put it on the ballot last spring.
Co-social has been the most stressful, but they all have their moments. |

I am also currently our pledge scholarship chair. I am under our pledge educator, and my responsibilty is mainly to check on our "associate members'" academic status and ensure they are in good standing, and to assign them lessons in the Fraternity's history. In the past, I had only held positions in my pledge class, such as treasurer, rush chair, and campus involvement chair. |
I was just elected Recording Secretary for 2005 (So, starting in January my position will take effect) which is one of the "executive" positions in AZD. Basically, I record the minutes during chapter, take attendance at events, and make sure everything gets sent to our nationals.
I was/am Corresponding Secretary for 2004, which means that I was the peson right below Public relations Vice President. My job basically entailed keeping in touch with other chapters on campus, letting them know when our events were taking place, sending congratulations cards on founders days, and delivering gift baskets on holidays. I also was in charge of sending out all invites to our formal. |
I was just initiated Saturday, but I'm told I may be de facto webmaster because I made a site for the pledge class and it was way better (I had things like text and so on) than the one our chapter has. I don't know too much code--I just know how to do layouts and I can put in the effort to keep it good and updated.

I am Head Guard (Ritual Chair) and I just finished up my term as Alumnae-Collegiate Relations Chair.
I was Philanthropy Chairman.
I am now Recording Secretary (Eboard) Panhellenic Alternate Delegate and Webmistress :p |
I just finished my term as co-social chair and co-risk manager.
I'm continuing my position of VP of Membership Development through next semester. Basically I'm responsible for promoting sisterhood, creating a membership development plan for the year, and making sure GL standards programs are done. I also supervise 5 other offices: Scholarship Chair, Historian, Rituals Chair, NM Educator, and Song Educator. It's been a really rewarding position so far and I'm exciting to continue with my ideas. I'm also taking on the position of Parlimentarian for next semester. I make sure everyone knows and follows Robert's Rules, and help in ammending bylaws when necessary. |
I WAS Rush Chair (VP of Recruitment) and apparently that wasn't stressful enough for me ;) ....now I'm Chapter President!
In January I'll be taking on the chairs of Recording Secretary and Website Manager
im the property manager, aka in charge of the house, and i will be the 2005 philanthropy chair starting in january.
i'm the social chair:)- i set up mixers (about 10 or so a semester)- the formals (winter and spring) and all open house parties- we usually have 4 or 5... with like 200-300 plus people coming in every time...
Its pretty stressful and i had a co-social last semester- but she didn't do anything- so it all landed on me anyway... and if i wasn't around- she called the shots and effed everything up b/c she didn't know what was going on... so now i'm the chair and i have an assistant so nothing gets screwed up... yay:) |

Day-um. 10?! And I thought planning 5 mixers and 2 parties was stressful. |
I'm Triangle chair for my chapter right now. I'm responsible for sending articles in to The Triangle, our national magazine.
Now I'm the New Member Educator and Song Chair for my chapter (pretty self-explanatory). As NME I also am a member of the Standards committee.
I just got done serving my term as House Manager (coordinated lounge cleaning/maintenance) and Vice President of Chapter Development (head of Standards, ritual, coordinate chapter interactions and defuse scary situations asap). I'm up and ready for anything they throw at me, and glad to do it! |
Right now I'm Historian. I have to keep my chapter's history and an up to date list of all memeber in my chater.
My position this term is Pledge Educator. I have held President, Service VP, Treasurer, Executive Secretary (recording and corresponding), Chartering Co-chair, Conference Chair (gave info to the chapter about conferences), and have been Project Chair and Fellowship Chairs for events. After this term, I hope to go on Section Staff.
Oh, and I forgot to mention, I have been "involved" for just over a year. I have been a Brother for less than a year. I'm just highly involved.
I'm the chairperson of our interest group. It is a stressing but very rewarding job...
I'm the Vice President of my chapter...I am in charge of scholarship, making sure that each member maintains the required GPA to be an active member of the sorority, and I also plan educational programs for the chapter and school.
I'm sisterhood chair! I was just elected tonight.
Basically, I'm in charge of coordinating sunshine notes (weekly anonymous e-mails to each sister), etc. I have to plan our Senior Night and Sister Retreat. I was trying to think of some good, fun things to do on the Retreat...nothing too serious! |
In college I was president, secretary and alumni chair. I also served as IFC rep for a short time.
After I graduated I served as an assistant alumnus advisor for a year. |
I'm newly elected internet/computer chair...:)
Which means I'm the tech support for the house, manage the network, etc. |
ex-Risk Chair.....that job was a BITCH!
I'm the Risk Management Educator. I think I'm going to run for New Member Educator next semester.
President, and ISC Co-Chair, *Sigh* it's gonna be a long year.
I am VP of New Member Ed. I am also Alumnae Relations chair, and webmistress. I also think there's something else, but I can't remember what it is. :(
I no longer have a position in my chapter. :( However, I am the Panhellenic President for the next school year.
I'm currently the New Member Coordinator. This means I get to be in charge of all our wonderful new members (called Alphas until they are initiated)! I can't wait until my job really begins -- after fall formal recruitment!
2005 PANHELLENIC DELEGATE.
I am the Director of Social Events for the Delta Theta Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon... And I a damn good one
