1. I like knowing what other people's opinions are on things. Especially things that I feel strongly about.

2. It's fun.

3. I like to help when I can.

4. I like the feeling that someone wants to know what I think. (someone you haven't met mind you)

there's more.
I'll be back

I post because:
Love to meet people in my own sorority.

Like to hear what's going on in other places.

Like to talk to people who share an interest in greek life.

Like to talk to people who know that greeks are not "gang" or "cult" like, but have spiritual and moral values.

You can always learn something new !!!

Monique 09-24-2000 10:47 PM

Hey..I post here because I find out alot of info about the sorority. And also so that I can know what to do and what not do.ps. and some times depending on the topic I post here to get a laugh in.

AuLait 09-26-2000 12:22 AM

Hello All,
I've never posted in this forum before but often read what others in the forum share.

I post because:

Its easier to ask questions when there is anonymity (sp)

I get to chat with people that I would probably never talk to or come across in the daily routines of life

I can learn something from anywhere and anyone

I can and have made good online friends

REALITYBLACK 09-26-2000 01:02 PM

Well I post because

1. I like to keep up my typing speed.

2. I like to read the opinions of other
people

3. It allows me to talk to memebers and get
a taste of what it is like to be a
based on the experiences that everyone
shares on the board

4. It passes time for me between classes

5. I learn something new everytime I read the
posted messages. (what to and not to say
and do, new websites, good books, etc)

6. It's always fun to make new friends!

Gina_lynn 09-28-2000 02:14 PM

Why I read is different from why I post.

I read because I feel that I need to know what is on the minds of those that I love and claim to represent.

I post because I'm an oppionionated person and it's nice to have a friendly debate where you can take all the time you need to form your response and no one can cut you off. I also think that it gives you a chance to have a much wider sphere of influence than you would any other way.

Nubian 09-29-2000 08:14 PM

Well even though I haven't posted in a long while (school is killing me), I post here because:

1. It's a good place to interact with those you look up to and those who generally have the same aspirations.

AND

2.It provides a comfortable place to exchange ideas, thoughts, questions and advice.

I post here for many reasons.

#1. I thought it was an interesting way to communicate with members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

#2. It is a positive web site and the feedback is rarely harsh

#3. I find it to be helpful not only to things pertaining to Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, but to general things in life

Tanzanite 05-29-2001 04:11 AM

I began posting here as an interest. I only posted once and was too intimidated to post again. However, I then used this forum as somewhat of an etiquette book about being an interest in DST. Whenever I saw someone else cross the lines of discretion, I used that as a lesson and made sure I was doing the right things with the Deltas on my yard.

NOW that I've served my time and earned the right to call those women my Sorors:

I use this forum as a place to gain further insight and knowledge about what going on with my other Sorors around the country. I've even learned alot about how DST can be different in its different regions, yet uniform on a national level. I'm only talking about general stuff, like community service events, step shows, greek slang, etc. Also, the topics about our opinions on television shows and magazine articles are cool also.

I don't post very often. I just like to sit back, analyze, and take it all in.

99melodies 05-30-2001 10:05 PM

I am always looking for something to do and I usually spend time working on learning about DST for my future endeavors so this is a good place for talking and learning....

The reason I post here is because of the fun and interesting topics, this stuff lightens my day after I get off of work!

OOhsoflyDELTA#9 12-20-2002 12:50 AM

I post here because....

I love to meet Sorors!!!!

I love to meet interesting people period.......

It keeps me from watching so much television.......

I find alot of the posts interesting.......

NOWorNEVER 12-20-2002 02:09 AM

I first started posting to find out more about DST, but I post all the time because I enjoy meeting people and I feel like I know most of these folks on these boards.:)

Gina1201 12-20-2002 03:54 PM

One of the reasons that I first starting participating in this forum is because I am interested in pursuing membership with Delta Sigma Theta. Once I actually participated I have grown to LOVE the conversations that take place here, most of them have NOTHING to do with DST. This forum is a great place to interact with other educated black people. I think now even if I was not interested in pursuing membership I would continue to frequent this forum.

miss priss 12-22-2002 09:58 PM

I post on Greekchat because I like to actively read and participate in the forums listed. However, I post in this section because someone once eluded that I only posted in one area's avenue;although I had been reading here all the time. Who knew people notice things like that? I try to be supportive to all greek organizations whether online or here at home. (Hard to do when people ASSUME you are brown-nosing!)
I like the stimulating conversations that take place in all the forums. I find it interesting that most of us have so much in common even though we are in different parts of the world.:)

Sidebar:I'd also like to add that there are members of some forums that I think are just plain nice when people ask/say crazy questions/things, for that I appreciate you!

Strive 12-22-2002 10:07 PM

DirectorDST99, I post on every site possible because I want my opinion heard.:)

zetafg: Hello, my name is zetafg, and I'm a GC Addict.

GCers: Hello zetafg.

zetafg: I've been posting on here for a couple of years and I'm unable to stop. The people here are friendly, caring, funny, intelligent, and some times off the chain!

GCers: Welcome.

zetafg: Is there anyway I can be cured? Is this serious? I'm going to like loose my fingers or something?

GCers: Well, start a thread on GC Addicts Seeking Professional Help. We are certain there is someone out there who can help you.

zetafg: Thank You GCers, I knew I made the right choice by coming here. I'll see you at the next thread.......

Um. . . zetafg, I hate to break it to you like this, but
THERE IS NO CURE!
You just gotta quit cold turkey!
Last time I tried to do that, I was short of breath, had sweaty palms, dang near tore my mouse up trying not to click on this site and tried to substitute other sites for GC, but alas, it didn't work.

I'm sorry. . . maybe I should join you in GC therapy. . .

My sentiments exactly...

It started off as me wanting to "surround" myself with ladies of similar 'interest', but honestly, now I don't think I actually even mention my organization of choice. I just like 'all ya'll'. :D

rho4life 11-10-2003 04:49 PM

I like to "meet" Greeks from all over the world, and see what goes on in different areas.

My workplaces is full of people who are SIGNIFICANTLY older than me [in body and SPIRIT], and we don't have a lot in common. I would rather eat lunch at my desk and hang out at GC than endure a 2 hour lunch w/ them.

It makes me laugh, and it makes me think.

Poodles!

Believe me, if you suffered through one of these lunches it would seem like 4 hours. The conversations often center around the definition of what activities qualify as a sport. ie, is the Indy 500 a sport? They're sitting and driving, versus the Tour de France, where they sit but peddle. FOR TWO HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :( :( :(
