Has anyone picked up New Edition's CD?

I got Eminem's Encore today and I am diggin' it. I was in the car ROLLIN' off of some of the lyrics. Example: "I hope you get to h*ll and Satan sticks a needle in your eye." I was like WHAT?! I had to rewind that one, lol. Evil Deeds might be my favorite track. At least so far, lol. |
Did anyone peep Jay-Z vs. Linkin Park on MTV? I have fallen in love with Linkin Park (Don't ask) but when they put Jay-Z in the mix, it sounds real nice.
I like the song "1,2 Step". Goodies girl works it out in the video. I forgot her name, but her song will go on my workout CD. Could someone please hurry up and buy New Edition and give me the scoop? |
Right now, VH1 Soul is playing NE's CD (listening party). Thus far, I have heard 4 or 5 cuts. They are not all bad. So far, only ONE song has Puffy saying "Bad Boy". That song features alot of Ronnie and Mike.
I don 't think NE fans will be disappointed. If BB still has it for $9.99, I'll get it tomorrow. |

New Edition's CD is pretty cool - at least what I've heard so far. I didn't know they were with Bad Boy.

For all of my Neo-Soul heads, the New Philly Soul vol. 2 and New California Soul are the jointz!! Check em out!!

Mosh - man, he is lettin' your president have it!! LOVE IT!!! This is tied with Like Toy Soldiers as my favorite songs lyricly (is that a word). With a smooth-azz-you-gotta-nod-your-head beat. Puke - I'm sorry, but it is funny as hayle that he says he hopes Satan sticks a needle in her eye. But I also like it because it shows sort of a vulnerability while still being classic crass Em. Like Toy Soldiers - I used to like the original song. But even still, I just love how he spins a story. One of the things I love about hiphop is the cadence of voice over beats. This song is a PERFECT example of that because of the drums. And it gives me a little insight into the JaRule beef. Big Weenie - The first song in my mind when I heard about the Vibe fight. Again, I like the cadence of his voice over the beats in this song. Mockingbird - I like the vulnerability he shows in this song, too. It helps me to think of him as a real person with real feelings, not just some crass @$$hole. I think that gives depth to him as an artist. Encore - Definitely my favorite as far as beats (tied with Evil Deeds). What I DON'T like is Nate Dogg's chorus in Never Enough. It could have been so much better; it's weak. But I DO like Fiddy's cadence of voice over beats in the song. I read a review saying that while it is a good CD with good beats, they think he over did it with 20 tracks. As a consumer, I like that, lol; I get my money's worth. I guess they really hate that there's a bonus CD with 3 MORE songs. I've only listened to the 1st song on there, and I like it. Lyrics and shock value? He's on point, as usual. He didn't disappoint me. :) This is a good season for hiphop: Talib, Mos, and Em. If I don't buy anymore CDs this year . . . |
I don't know if thread is for old or new albums... but a few years ago the group Ideal released their debut album and it was really really good. I count it a must have:)

I'll have to see the video. :D I THINK I know who you are speaking of...when you said they were from H-town. |

I remember the song. I vaguely remember the video with the chick sneaking into the bathroom and stuff and talking on the phone 'til all hours of the night with some other guy. One night, the boyfriend wakes up and catches her then kicks her to the curb. She is supposed to "get gone." It used to be in heavy rotation on Midnight Love.
Did they have any other singles? |

BTW, I haven't heard the song, I just think anything ND does is horrible. |

They also had a single called "Creep Inn." But there are better songs on the rest of the album. There's one where they are a capella...oooh yeah :D |

Dat's why his solo chit went triple wood (4 CT4). :p He's good for a HOOK, like Ashanti! :p They should do a duet! :D |

destiny's child
i got the cd and i actually like it. there's only 1 song that i'm really not feeling and it's #10--through with love. i will say that michelle's voice sounds sooo weak except on #8--if, which is one of my favorite. i would give it 4.75 stars out of 5
