Are there any Starbucks inside a Walmart?

Because if so, that tandem could probably take over the world.

Well, they could if they consolidated with Bill Gates....

valkyrie 11-04-2004 02:01 PM

Hm, I don't know about that. I don't think most people who drink Starbucks shop at WalMart or that most people who shop at WalMart drink Starbucks. Of course, I could be wrong...

ZTAngel 11-04-2004 02:04 PM

There's a Starbucks inside the Super Target store down the street from me.

DeltaSigStan 11-04-2004 02:06 PM

Target (Pronounced "Tar-hey" by the deficiently refined) is fine, for now. The Martha Stewart empire got knocked off, so now all Target can rely on are their short sleeve lime green suits and Kathy Lee sweat shop products.

Oh wait, that's K-Mart....

smiley21 11-04-2004 02:21 PM

can you imagine if Starbucks went inside KMart??? *shivers*

somehow the two don't match

norcalchick 11-04-2004 04:00 PM

I've seen Starbucks in Safeways

Comedian Lewis Black discussed how he saw the end of the Universe in Houston:

A Starbucks across the street from a Starbucks.....

"People ask if there are too many Starbucks.............now we know. When you have a Starbucks across the street from a Starbucks THAT IT, GAME OVER."

Far as I know, no Starbucks inside of a Wally World. McDonalds has the contract for putting in restaurants inside newer Wally World Supercenters. Unlike free-standing MickeyD's they serve only a limited menu.

SSS1365 11-04-2004 04:38 PM

I've seen them in several Safeways, and in Super Target.

Across the street from our Super Target, which has a Starbucks, there is-- you guessed it-- another Starbucks. Less than one mile away, you can find two more

Same here. There is a Starbucks inside the Super Target. At the other end of the shopping plaza (about 100 yards away) there is a freestanding Starbucks shop.

There are at least four Starbucks within walking distance from my building. Two are inside bookstores.

There are SEVEN, count them, SEVEN Starbucks within a mile radius of San Diego State University. Two are on campus and one next to the dorms. EVERY main road crossing College Avenue (which leads to SDSU) has a Starbucks somewhere on the street.

In Omaha, at the corner of 72nd and Dodge, there are 5 coffee shops at the intersection (including two starbucks)

IowaStatePhiPsi 11-04-2004 07:16 PM

Starbucks in Targets and HyVees in Iowa.

That's a great bit.

AznSAE 11-04-2004 07:44 PM

we got 3 starbucks on different corners of a 4 way intersection across the street from each other. i am surprised we don't have one on the 4th corner.

Starbucks are inside D&Ws (very nice grocery stores) in West Michigan.

In Hillsdale, where I go to school, literally all we have is a Wal-Mart and a Kroger. If there were a Starbucks in the Wal-Mart, my roommate would most likely just move in there. :)

They opened a Starbucks and Jamba Juice on campus a few semesters ago.

Sadly, they were only a few yards away from my office so I practically lived there everyday.

tinydancer 11-04-2004 11:59 PM

They recently put a Starbucks in the Tom Thumb grocery. There used to be on in Albertsons, but it didn't last too long. I think the neighborhood was not receptive to high price coffee.

ShaedyKD 11-05-2004 12:21 AM

Has anyone else noticed that beverages from a Starbucks in say, Barnes and Noble, tastes different from the coffee you get at a regular Starbucks? I have a Barnes and Noble right next to my office that I could walk to, but I would rather drive the 3 blocks to the real Starbucks where they really know how to make a caramel frappachino!

I recently read an article about the insane number of Starbucks shops within small areas. The marketing folks think that the added convenience of having one on every corner will bring a bigger profit. They say if one has a line, you can walk one block to another store that doesn't have a line. It's all about accessibility and convenience for the customer.
