Post state results here
Looks like a long night.
My guess is non swing states will be called within 30-45 minutes of poll closings. Swing states, maybe 1.5hrs. 7 p.m. ET: Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky, South Carolina, Vermont, Virginia 7:30 p.m. ET: North Carolina, Ohio, West Virginia 8 p.m. ET: Alabama, Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Florida, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Mississippi, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee 8:30 p.m. ET: Arkansas 9 p.m. ET: Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Louisiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Texas, Wisconsin, Wyoming 10 p.m. ET: Iowa, Montana, Nevada, Utah 11 p.m. ET: California, Hawaii, Idaho, Oregon, Washington 1 a.m. ET: Alaska |
NBC was calling results in Georgia, Indiana, Kentucky and Vermont less than 5 minutes after the polls closed. That's ridiculously fast IMHO.

I just saw that Bush wins New Hampshire

Bush wins Ga. (15), Ky. (8), Ind. (11); Kerry takes Vermont (3)
Bush: 34 Kerry: 3 |
Well hell, I don't know...that's just what they said on TV. Let's not shoot the messenger. Anyone care to confirm this---?
|
Bush grabs West Virginia (5)
Bush: 39 Kerry: 3 Closed but unpredicted: Ohio, North Carolina, Kentucky, South Carolina |
NC, VA and SC too close to call, but polls closed
|
The New York Times isn't calling anything so far in the Presidential race.
Here's a confusing report on the outcome of Georgia's Senate race: Georgia Reporting: 0.1% Denise Majette, Dem 689 (54.1%) * Johnny Isakson, Rep 581 (45.6%) Allen Buckley, Lib 3 (0.2%) Hardly any precincts have reported, Isakson is only at 45.6%, and they're already calling it for Isakson?? |
|
Bush takes TN, AL, SC, MS, OK
Kerry takes 3 of Maine's 4 *1 undecided EV Kerry takes NJ, MD, DC, DE, CT, MA, IL Bush: 80 Kerry: 77 undecided: 1 EV in ME NH, VA, NC, MO, OH, PA, FL in unprojected pile. |
Polls closing in Texas about this time (19:00 local)
Obviously, a lock for the CinC to win Texas. Frost vs. Sessions slugfest in Congressional District 32. The 'Jones Tax' - Arlington, Texas votes to whether to raise taxes to come up with half the money for a new stadium for the Sainted Dallas Cowpukes. |
Bush carries North Carolina's 15 EVs
projected defeat of Sen. Bunning to Dr. Mongiardo in Kentucky |

NBC says bush has

Kerry takes NY, RI Bush : 155 Kerry: 112 |
CBS must be really behind. It still said Bush had 108 and Kerry, 77 last I checked.
|
With 5% of the vote in Ohio in...Bush is leading by 5%.
But there's still 95% to go. |

I've been changing back and forth and it seems that NBC has the most accurate up to date coverage. |

CBS is ahead of CNN on Mississippi.

I once heard the district that I was working called when we hadn't even opened the absentee ballots yet! These may be somewhat educated guesses, but obviously, the operative word is guess!! |
Re: Re: Post state results here
We'll still love you if Bush wins.

Utah goes Bush. 5EV
Penn, Ohio, Florida still undecided. Maine: 3Kerry, 1undecided. Bush 175 Kerry 112 Close race between Daschle and Thune. Here are some numbers I thought were interesting. 90% of people who thought religous faith was the most important quality in a president voted for Thune while only 14% of people who thought intelligence was the most important quality voted for Thune. 86% of people who thought intelligence was the most important voted for Daschle, and not surpsingly 90% voted for Daschle that thought change was the most important. 17% of precincts reporting votes by county voter survey results Daschle 32,569 51% Thune 31,485 49% Still oh so close. |
Missouri is called for Bush

|
<Brother Bluto> Holy Shit! </Brother Bluto>
53% of precincts reporting in Penn: 60% for Kerry ETA: CBS called Penn for Kerry Bush: 196 Kerry: 133 |
Local news has confirmed.. Michigan is 55% Bush-45% Kerry with 14% of precincts in.. NONE of the precincts in Detroit have reported yet. You can't call Michigan without the 400,000 voters in Detroit.
