If you care about the future of the the US and the greek community you must vote for Bush. Bush's foriegn policy will keep us safe, while his economic policy will allow us to keep our money and do with it as we wish. Vote today and Vote for a better greek community.

This makes me laugh.

AEPhiSierra 11-02-2004 02:56 PM

If only I had known Bush was for the Greek Community and Kerry wasn't! I must have missed that speech where they took a break from discussing the war, terrorism, social security etc. to debate the most important information for america - how they will support the Greek Community.

While I have always avoided policy discussions on Greek Chat - particularly when they are in the wrong forum (this is a topic for Chit Chat). I will say two things:

1) Bush's Foreign Policy has not made me feel safe (try living in NYC for a while).
2) How are you supporting Greek Life when you're not preparing American students to succeed in or afford college. If the youth of America don't go to college they can't go Greek.

Why can't we just let people vote the way they feel they need to. And why isn't this in chit-chat?

AMEN to that!!!!

to slickwilly95991: Yeah, I guess I'm not much of a Greek then. At least I know that I want a planet in 20 years and the right to choose. And if you can't get past the whole "flip-flop" comment that the Bush/Cheney campaign kept putting out about Kerry, then I suggest you research Bush again.

Have a nice day.

So apparently you don't read or watch the news because as far as I could tell, you know from the ACTUAL reading and watching that I do, the military's funding keeps being cut- lower pay, not enough protection. Maybe you should revise your comment to say "Bush is right for me as a Greek" because he sure as hell isn't right for me.

*steps off soap box*

kddani 11-02-2004 04:58 PM

I didn't realize Bush's foreign policy had an effect on us as greeks. I know his economic policy isn't helping members pay dues or afford to be able to donate to our foundations.

Hopefully this thread will be moved once a chit chat mod gets on

What is his "economic policy" and how is it not "helping members pay dues or afford to be able to donate to our foundations"?

I thought only American citizens can vote.
If you are real Greek, then vote for your own president in Greece!

IheartAphi 11-02-2004 06:57 PM

Actually, recruitment at my university has changed dramatically with the economic turn down. A lot of middle class kids can't afford the extra $$ to join a group. (NC has been hit hard and is turning into a service industry economy)

Money is tighter now. If I was going to college this year, I would feel really bad about asking my dad for the money. We also had al ot of girls have to leave chapter because of parents losing jobs or lack of discretionary funds for their use.

So which Bush policy is it that is responsible for the "economic turn down".

I'm also wondering how you conducted your survey of potential members to find out why they didn't join. But then again I'm not sure what "a lot" means as a measurement.

This was a ridiculous thread to start and it was ridiculous of those who posted to try and attack a candidate. The election is going to be decided in a few hours anyway.
