Trick or Treat, Smell my Feet..........

Give me something good to eat!!!

what type of halloween candies are you handing out this year?

as for me, i dont expect anyone to show up at the door so i didnt buy any candies. if kids show up, i hope they dont mind a package of raman noodles becaues that is all i have.

midwesterngirl 10-31-2004 03:38 PM

We're giving out twix, starburst and m&m's and almond joy.

mmcline 10-31-2004 03:53 PM

I am not expecting any trick or treaters, but if some come we have almond joys, hershey bars, jolly ranchers and twizzlers, this is left over candy i have bought and all the stuff i haven't eaten. lol.. I hope someone comes so I won't eat all the candy myself :p

Our subdivsion (smart people the the homeowners are) decided to advertise trick or treat for last night (Sat) and put "Residents Only"...

Now if you're a kid (especially some of the older kids we got...teenagers and even PARENTS [yes, the parents were trick-or-treating with their 3 yr olds, not just supervising, but acutally participating]), knowing that you can go trick or treating 2 nights in a row is a little sign saying "Residents only" going to stop you? NO! We didn't recognize 3/4 of the kids that came by...it was a 2 hour event and we had to make a candy run 45 minutes in...and we started off with $10 worth of candy for a subdivision of 3 streets totaling 2 miles.

PS...when my dad went to the store for more candy he came back with Snickers Fun size, Mini Snickers, and Snickers Crunch...can't tell what his favorite is can you?

Our city's trick or treat is THREE hours long, from 1 to 4 in the afternoon.

Just 1/2 hour to go and I have soooooo much candy left. I've been letting every kid pick three, and they seem to favor the Nerds, Bottle Caps, and Twizzlers over the chocolate (good) stuff.

Oh, my co-workers are going to love me tomorrow when my candy hits the break room.

PhoenixAzul 10-31-2004 04:34 PM

I hate halloween. Try being a diabetic on this cursed holiday.

carnation 10-31-2004 08:09 PM

Oooo! We just got back from Valdosta, GA, where trick or treating was last night. A friend suggested we go trick or treating in this certain subdivision and oh wow, those people knew how to decorate! Smoke machines, orange lights, giant balloons, all kinds of special effects..I am soooo impressed!

KillarneyRose 10-31-2004 08:14 PM

In years past, I loved sitting on the porch giving out candy while Mr. KR took the girls trick or treating. This is our first Halloween in the new house, though, and it's been a disappointment for me. Not nearly as many kids and instead of the parents staying for a few minutes to chat before going onto the next house, most of them have been jabbering away on cell phones and don't even say thank you. Snotty!

Dionysus 10-31-2004 08:16 PM

Tootsie Rolls and cheap gum.

ZTAMich 10-31-2004 08:21 PM

last year in Queens no kids trick or treated in our building. So this year in the Bronx I didn't buy any candy. Wouldn't you know it I've had 5 kids come all the way up to the 5th floor and have NO CANDY for them :(

AGDee 10-31-2004 08:34 PM

Milk Duds, Kit Kats, Tootsie roll pops, and 100grands. We usually get 120 kids or so but it has been very slow this year.... Don't know where all the kids went!

Dee

norcalchick 10-31-2004 09:19 PM

Nothing. I live on the 2nd floor, but it's up 4 flights of stairs. There aren't any kids in our lil complex either. If someone came up here, I'd throw a shoe at them! lol j/p. I'd want to give them something if they went through all the trouble of coming all the way up here.

winnieb 10-31-2004 09:28 PM

I am sitting on the floor in the entry way-with the laptop handing out candy. We are giving out M&ms, Butterfingers, Skittles, 3 Musteteers, Whistle pops, Reeses Peanut Butter Cups, Jelly Lifesavers and gum.
I bought enough for 140 kids, we usually have 80. It is rainy out and I am almost outta candy. It won't be long before I shut the door and turn off the lights. There have been carloads of kids-- I swear they are being bused in from other neighborhoods.
As far as the parents-- I have had a couple of parents Trick or Treating also. One guy stood there with his bag out and glared-- I said "you have to be at least my age" his response was "yup- but i need candy too" Dumb ass-- go to the f'in Walmart 1 mile from here and buy yourself a bag!!!
But I pass candy out every year while my hubby takes the boys around the neighborhood.

Munchkin03 10-31-2004 09:29 PM

There's no Halloween here in the digital design lab. :(

Damn you, 3-D Studio Max final project!

DGqueen17 10-31-2004 10:48 PM

I don't know why they call the little candy bars "fun" size. Fun size to me is king size.

Anyway at my grandma's I gave out Reese cups, Snickers and Milky Ways.

kappaloo 10-31-2004 11:07 PM

No candy here - i live in an apartment!

ADqtPiMel 10-31-2004 11:32 PM

I think parents tend to steer clear of my neighborhood. I live in a neighborhood that's all college kids, so 1) we have no money for candy, and 2) our yards are full of beer cans and broken glass.

Peaches-n-Cream 10-31-2004 11:53 PM

I saw so many cute little children in costumes outside, but no one came to the door. There was perfect weather (warm and sunny) for trick or treating.

PhoenixAzul 11-01-2004 12:19 AM

anyone else notice that the smaller size candy bars tend to taste exceptionally good?

I saw a comedian this weekend, and part of his routine was this:

"Why are the little candy bars called fun size? Shouldn't the bigger ones be more fun? I wonder if I could use that in my love life...'Hey ladies, it's fun sized!'" :D

cutiepatootie 11-01-2004 04:09 AM

After i took my overly hyper son out i came back and handed out reeses penaut butter cups, milky way and snickers

GET THIS.....

this mexican lady like my mothers age....55ish comes to the door rings the bell and expects me to give her candy....i said where is your child and she giggles and says nothing i said no kid, no candy and she walks away mumbling , figures spainish , because i wouldnt give her any candy....55 fricken yrs old and NO KID!

bottom line...NO KID NO CANDY!

lyrica9 11-01-2004 06:13 AM

yeah no trick or treaters at ol' sorority row.
but my exboyfriend and some of his friends went trick or treating, and i got to steal some of their candy.

AGDee 11-01-2004 07:23 AM

I had one parent who had a trick or treat bag along with her child's. Sadly, she didn't look any older than some of the other teens who showed up. :(

ZTAMich 11-01-2004 07:42 AM

I was in the pizza place yesterday and they were giving out candy which was pretty nice. But I don't like the older kids, maybe 12yrs +, 'trick or treating' in jeans and black t-shirts. Come on wear a costume!

that's because you live in the ghetto! who'd want to go there?

mmcat 11-01-2004 08:45 AM

two large batches of trick or treaters from mexico. some tried to come back a second time. i told them "nope." but no kids from the actual apartment complex. so i have left over candy. mine was a mixture.

Rio_Kohitsuji 11-01-2004 10:56 AM

Heh...I wish I could have gone trick or treating that night....had class though :( However, my niece (who's 4) became so excited that she peed her pants! LOL! I'm quite sorry that I had to miss that!

Been there... done that. :)

As for me... I live in apartment complex so we don't get trick or treaters, even if there are kids in the complex. I've learned from past years of buying a @*$^ load of candy and not having any kids come by. The only candy I bought this year was for my co-workers in the break room. (They were Reese's Peanut Butter Cups.)

Senusret I 11-01-2004 06:27 PM

We gave out kit-kats, reeses cups, lollipops, and plastic halloween rings.

Peaches-n-Cream 11-01-2004 06:29 PM

I want candy now!

Halloween doesn't require mounted police in riot gear.
