Spring and Summer Roadtrips?
 

Hi all!

Just wanted to know if anyone has any trips planned for this spring and summer & where you're going.

I may have a wedding to attend in Charlotte, NC in May(I'm not making plans to go until I receive an invitataion), HOPEFULLY I'll be attending Regional in Biloxi, MS in June, and I plan to find my husband at the Kappa's Conclave in Cleveland, OH in August. (MandingoNupe, BobbyEarl, & the rest of y'all better watch out http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif) I'll also be helping CrimsonTide4 celebrate her birthday & meeting Ideal08 as well. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

I'm going to the Essence Festival this summer with my cousins. Its being held in New Orleans!!!! I can't wait to get there!!

I hope you don't mind me posting, but I'm really excited about my spring break trip. On a second glance, this is not really a "roadtrip", but I am looking forward to it.

I'm going to Italy!!! I along w/ a few other classmates will be touring Milan, Rome, Venice, & Florence. This is especially exciting for me, because it will be my first trip outside of the US.

I will be heading to Jamaica for my Spring break. When I return I will be heading down to Atlanta with my sister for her line's Delta-versary!! I am so excited. I cannot wait!!

for spring brek i am planning to go home to Daytona then swing down to Orlando and Miami to see some friends and to really kick it for spring break.

my roomie is going to Paris...i trip i had to cancel out on because of my past situation. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/mad.gif

some of my LS's want to plan to go to the Essence Music Fair in the N.O.

end of the summer...i will taking my little sister to Puerto Rico.

in between the months will be some road tripping to greekfest and mrtyle beach for biker fest.

For my spring break, I will be traveling to Detroit, Michigan with a group of seven other student volunteers, to work with a program called SOSAD(Saving Our Sons And Daughters). This opportunity was made available to me through the Alternative Spring Break program.

For one week I will be counseling the inner-city youth (grammar and high school) on anger management, conflict management/resolution, and challenging them to find other ways to solve their problems with out turning to violence.

This summer I will go home for about a month to work with Respond Now, a program that responds to the homeless in the south suburbs of Chicago. As a Volunteer, I will assess the level of necessity for food, clothing, shelter, emergency medical assistance for those in need. I'm gonna kick it a little too while I'm in the CHI!!
For the last two months of my summer "vacation", as the Vice-President of the Black Student Union http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif , I will return to campus to prepare BSU for the upcoming academic year while I take classes!!

So far, I have plans to go to the Texas Relays (I had so much fun last year) and go to Kappa Beach party.

OOOOOO-OOOOOOOP!!

I was reading on Nupes.com that they are trying (KAY has actually sued if i read correctly) to keep the promoters of the event from calling it "Kappa" beach party because 1) no Kappas are involved in the planning and 2) because of the type of people the event attracts (mostly non-college students). I don't want to start any wars, so don't quote me on that. Can anyone provide clarification?

Hey Soror, I've heard that too. But all the Kappas I know call it Kappa beach. I agree about the crowd it attracts. I know puh-lenty of people that go who haven't stepped foot on a college campus (except when there's a party).
I know last year it was reported that Galveston locals were trying to close the town to keep people out. I think it has become too popular because everybody knows where to find the Nupes, the third weekend in April.

This summer in Toledo, Ohio we will be doing Delta Academy. In July I will be atttending The NAACP National Convention in 'nawlins (New Orleans). In August is the Mighty Midwest Regional Convention. Hey Sorors and SF!!!

I've got a trip planned for just about every month this summer. In May me and 3 friends (1 Soror formerly just a friend http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif ) will be heading to sunny Southbeach, Miami. I went to Cancun last summer and if Miami is anything like Cancun, I won't be spilling the details of my trip when I return http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

Then, in June my hubby plans for us to take a trip to St. Croix. We both have Croixan blood, but met in a club in Manhattan.. heheh.. oh well, we'll probably be staying with his family.

In July I'll be attending my FIRT REGIONAL CONFERENCE as a NEO!! I can't wait. Hopefully my tax return will come back by this time so I can buy every peace of para I set my eyes on.. hehehe.. In August, there's a crab fest bus trip I'm still pondering about.

Well, I will be going to Australia with my mom on May 3rd. Since my hometown is Miami, I will be going from Miami to Los Angeles, to New Zealand to Australia. I think that will be a whole day of traveling.

It's that time again. Where are you going this spring and summer?

I will be headed to Charlotte at the end of April. I was supposed to go to LA for Spring Break but looks like that trip is off. :(

I will ATTEMPT strongly to make it to ATL in July for that wonderful CONVENTION that will set ATL off and never will it be the same again.
