What is skank or skanky?
 

ITs a boring sunday afternoon so I thought I would introduce a not very serious topic y'all could chime in on.

What do you consider a skank? Or acting skanky? What does that mean?

I know i have been out at a club with some girl-pals and after a few drinks I'm like, "ooooh look at that girl" And a lot of time the girls I am with will reply, oh she is a skank or acts skanky.

What is that? Is it a look, if so what does it look like?

Is it the way she acts? If so how is that?

Feel free to provide illustrations.

2nd of all- acting skanky has to do with being all up on a guy- acting slutty- dancing with her cooter all hanging out.... or when you notice throughout the night the same girl trying to get on all these different guys...

like for instance when i was bartending one night in london- this really pretty girl i literally saw make out with like 5 guys all within like 2 hours- and the guys would buy her drinks- and they'd turn around and she'd be up on some other guy...

now... granted- she was totally obliterated- so you gotta forgive her for that one- we've all been there one time or another- but she was still acting skanky- maybe just not a skank....

Skanky: A woman who is confident enough in her sexuality to go after what she wants, wear what she wants, acts the way she wants, without worrying what the frack anyone else thinks about her, as viewed through the eyes of women who wish they could be so bold. ;)

Not all freshman girls, because there are a few cool ones.
The skanky ones (in my mind atleast) are the ones who wear short skirts and tank tops in the middle of October (mind you we live in Massachusetts), sit with their legs wide open leaning on a boy in the middle of the kitchen, makeout with practically everyboy in the house, walking in like they own the freaking place, and thinking that all the boys are their best friends when in reality...THEY DON'T EVEN KNOW THE GUYS FIRST/REAL NAMES.

Gah, so maybe its not skanky--it just pisses me off.

BTW, according to dictionary.com the def. of skank is:
1) A rhythmic dance performed to reggae or ska music, characterized by bending forward, raising the knees, and extending the hands.
2) Disgusting or vulgar matter; filth.
3) One who is digustingly foul or filthy and often considered sexually promiscuous. Used especially of a woman or girl.

Skanks are my prime resource of getting some so I will never hate on a skank unless she gives me a disease.

In the town I grew up in, being skanky was not the same as being slutty. You could be skanky and slutty, of course, but there's a difference: Skanks are the "trashy" people who don't smell good, don't brush their hair, look like they've been wearing the same jeans every day for a month. Sluts, on the other hand, are people who act, or sometimes just look, promiscuous. Now, skanks are usually from "the wrong side of town," and are generally not held to the same standards as other people concerning behavior and manners, because it is assumed that they don't know any better. They're the ones you see at Wal-Mart with no shoes on. Like, I said, you could be a skank and a slut at the same time, but the sluts tended to be from better-off families. Wow...I just realized how backwards my town probably looks from that description, but it's true.

I agree. Sluts are the better off of the two. Isn't that sad? :p

I always think of the Pat Benetar video "We are strong" or whoever that is singing that. THink of that and not having bathed - that's skanky.

One thing that I think is skanky (I saw this today) is when fat people wear shirts that show their bellies, or wear short skirts.

When I hear "skanky," I think of someone from a lower socio-economic status. That's why when we have someone like, say, Paris Hilton...she looks promiscuous, but she's always well groomed and it's obvious that she takes care of herself. Still, I don't think she's skanky.

Trishelle on the other hand, is a walking clinic. I'd rather chew off my arm before I considered her "sexy". Besides, anyone who gets off with Andy Dick obviously has issues. Hi, skank. Maybe that's why her sorority kicked her ass to the curb.

On the Surreal Life, Trishelle got wasted and hooked up with Andy Dick. I don't know if they slept together but they were definitely making out. Bleh. He's a gross, little man.

I read a bunch of reality show articles claiming that Trishelle shagged Andy Dick in that episode of the Surreal Life 2 where they're filmed making out. Of course, those sites have yeamuch credibility, but the fact that she slept with the majority of her castmates in RW Vegas (both female and male), it leaves little to imagination.

Who is Trishelle? I've never heard of her, but I'm picturing a female Dennis Rodman.

She's some tall dirty slut that doesnt look half bad when she's dressed up and she loves hooking up/doing different guys. She's got long legs and most guys would do her if she asked them to.

where i'm from, a skank is a girl who smells bad, or looks like she would have an offensive odor if you got close enough. also, their clothes don't fit right: the tops are too tight, if they're larger girls, or too loose if they're thin; often times stained. skanks love grunge music. the mid-90s was the Skank Renaissance or the Skank Age. they're usually nice girls, though. They just lean so far away from being superficial the image they project is dirty and possibly stinky.

Skank and Skanky is purely a word that girls use, I dont really see guys using it. I think that a Skank is a sexually free girl that is probably pretty tore up in the vaginal region and has had previous experiences with farm animals....
