Ok anyone with the low down who this "old friend" is that that they keep saying on the commerical preview that returns tonight?

I think it's just Dr. Lewis coming back after the baby

I checked the spoiler sites and I don't see any significant "old friends" mentioned.

Dr. Lewis is now Chief of the ER.

but the ad also says "someone else is never coming back" to the ER...wonder who that is?

Didn't Susan come back last episode with the baby?

They're setting up Corday's departure.

ah ha! forgot she was leaving....and yes Susan was back briefly last week. I'll really be sad when Carter leaves :(

They showed Dr. Lewis in the promo when they said an old friend returns.

The one who isn't coming back is Corday. They set it up perfectly last week when she did the transplant with the guy who was HIV positive to his positive friend. She's going to get fired. At least, that's what I think.

I still watch religiously, but it's definitely not as good as the old ERs. I miss normal drama, not this huge drama with tanks coming down the street, deadly virus outbreaks, and random helicopters hurting/killing people.

LOL, firing Corday would be too easy. :p She's definitely going to get into some hot water, but I doubt that'll be the ONLY reason she's going to leave.

Without giving away tonight's spoilers, look for an aged Ella tonight.

With the exception of these outlandish moments, as you've mentioned, I still believe ER is just as good...I'm totally hooked into the storyline of Carter and Kim and want Ming-Na to return...Pratt came back already, why hasn't she??

Maybe that's who's returning? Nah...that's too easy...I'm agreeing with Lewis too!

I still like it but admit it's not as good as it used to be

If Shane West (my future husband) didn't join the cast this season as the ER's newest doc, then I doubt I'd be paying attention at all. :)

While many people might agree, it'd be too tragic for her kid. I mean, her lesbian lover just died last season and her family finally gave her custody of the baby. With the departures of Noah Wylie and Alex Kingston, there really isn't anyone left now, is there?

At least she is not on as much as she used to be...there are few story lines with her in them now which is fine with me. I guess of the original group, only Dr. Lewis is still left, along with some of the nurses.

I would love an episode where they played up the nurses more! They did that now & then when Carol was still around, but I really like Halle, Chuni, etc!! (even though I'm probably killing their names!)

it won't be susan because last week she made a brief appearance with the baby and the babys father ( new guy...not the one from the wb series) and plus she wasn't gone long enough during her maternity leave to get a grand welcome like that.

As for George Clooney..... girls back away from the hottie and no one will get hurt...he is my man!:D hehe

Elizabeth doesn't get fired ...they punish her by taking away her tenure and downsize ehr responsibilities. she leaves and moves back to England so Ella would know her family...this is all from spoilers mine you.

After reading some spoiler sites a little while ago i have a feeling who the old friend is.......i think with the leaving of corday marks a big send off of a character who has been there a while. I think Mark Greene ( Anthony Edwards) may appear to her in a dream of some sorts saying it is ok to move......this is my theory anyways.


Finally some good shows this season and their not reality tv crap. i mean i have some favorite reality shows but i miss good dramas

Well it was a good story with the kids and the mom but how they left corday was kinda blaa.....i wonder how much juice this show will have after Noah Wylie leaves at the end of the season.

I really dont care for the storylines with Noah Wylie. I really like what they're doing with Abby, Sam and Nela.

I know that Susan's pregnancy was written in to the show because Sherry Stringfield (is that how you spell her name?) was pregnant. But she looks slimmer than she was a couple of years ago. Maybe I'm just weird.

Neela's the Indian one, right? What's her story? She must have been introduced during last season, which I missed because I was abroad.

Yes, Neela's the Indian girl from the UK and was introduced last season. After med school, she was placed in Michigan and left before she could start because she wasn't really sure if she wanted to be a doctor because she kind of felt that her parents were forcing her to do so (this is typical behaviour for many children of immigrant parents). Her parents fly to Chicago to try to convince her to change her mind, but she wouldn't, so she ended up working at the convienience store across the street from County.

She is the girl from the movie "Bend it Like Beckham." That's a good movie. On ER her character wanted to be a doctor and then she didn't. Last I saw, she was interviewing at the mall for a job since she quit her job at County.

I haven't watched ER regularly since Anthony Edwards left the show so I am probably not the one to answer your question. :)

Wow, I've seen that movie but don't know why I didn't notice that that was her.

I did see last show, though, where it looks like she'll be back at County - Susan (I think) offered her a job.

Oh, and what's going on with that one woman with the kid, who in the last episode Luca offered to let them stay at his house? I guess they got introduced last season, too? Did she and Luca date, and did she work at County before?

I was sad to see Elizabeth go. She was one of my favorite characters.

She was introduced as the new nurse last season. She and Luca are still dating, I think, and he's grown closer to her son.

Okay, the intern following Abby around tonight (11/4) - is that Sara Gilbert (Roseanne & Melissa Gilbert's sister)??

I had just seen an A&E show on Melissa Gilbert and was surprised to see how much weight she (Sara Gilbert) had gained.

She certainly looks like Sara Gilbert, but I didn't see her name listed in the blurb on the NBC site.
