-Shows an interest in piercings or tattoos.

-Listens to gothic or any other anti-social genres of music. (Marilyn Manson claims to be the anti-Christ, and publicly speaks against the Lord. Please discard any such albums IMMEDIATELY.)

-Associates with other people that dress, act or speak eccentrically.

-Shows a declining interest in wholesome activities, such as: the Bible, prayer, church or sports.

-Shows an increasing interest in death, vampires, magic, the occult, witchcraft or anything else that involves Satan.

-Takes drugs.

-Drinks alcohol.

-Is suicidal and/or depressed.

-Cuts, burns or partakes in any other method of self-mutilation.(This is a Satanic ritual that uses pain to detract from the light of God and His love. Please seek immediate attention for this at your local mental health center.)

-Complains of boredom.

-Sleeps too excessively or too little.

-Is excessively awake during the night.

-Demands an unusual amount of privacy.

-Spends large amounts of time alone.

-Requests time alone and quietness. (This is so that your chid may speak to evil sprits through meditation.)

-Insists on spending time with friends while unaccompanied by an adult.

-Disregards authority figures; teachers, priests, nuns and elders are but a few examples of this.

-Misbehaves at school.

-Misbehaves at home.

-Eats excessively or too little

-Eats goth-related foods. Count Dracula cereal is an example of this.

-Drinks blood or expresses an interest in drinking blood. (Vampires believe this is how to attain Satan. This act is very dangerous and should be stopped immediately.)

-Watches cable television or any other corrupted media sources. (Ask your local church for proper programs that your child may watch.)

-Plays videos games that contains violence or role-playing nature.

-Uses the internet excessively and frequently makes time for the computer.

-Makes Satanic symbols and/or violently shakes head to music.

-Dances to music in a provocative or sexual manner.

-Expresses an interest in sex.

-Masturbates.

-Is homosexual and/or bisexual.

-Pursues dangerous cult religions. Such include: Satanism,
Scientology, Philosophy, Paganism, Wicca, Hinduism and Buddhism.

If five or more of these apply to your child, please intervene immediately. The gothic culture is dangerous and Satan thrives within it. If any of these problems persist, enlist your child into your local mental health center.

Half of those things on the list are something every normal teenager does (ie: sleeping excessively, eats excessively, insists on spending time with friends while unaccompanied by an adult, etc.).

This is *not* real, however, it is the attitude of many a conservative christian out there. As a "punk", I can say that it's pretty damned annoying.

I am glad, however, that my child's choice in music/shitty trends may lead to "meditating with the demon spirits" - rock.

There are some valid points on that list, but most of it is hysterical bullpoop.

Being goth doesn't make someone evil. Goths aren't satan worshippers (although some satan worshippers may be goths, the two aren't connected), they're not necessarily into drugs. To me, it only means that he or she has a darker aesthetic than perhaps is mainstream.

A person who loves reading Edgar Allen Poe, is interested in the supernatural, gets a kick out of Tim Burton movies and doesn't necessarily feel he/she looks best in bright colors is eminently more gothic than, say, some kid who puts on Crow makeup and a black cape bought from Hot Topic and sashays through the mall giving all the "normal looking" people dirty looks.

Also, I have never considered Marilyn Manson to be goth.

Let me tell you. I'd beat my son real good if he wore white makeup and all black leather. He'd get beat real good. Now if I had a daughter that did it, I'd send her ass to a Swiss convent and I'm not even Catholic. I don't want the freak children. Well certain physical freakness I can live with. Webbed feet, ok. 3 eyeballs, probably not. You get the idea.

Now Marilyn Manson needs his ass beat to. It's obvious he is Paul from Wonder Years and nerd boy is rumoured to have had ribs removed so he can provide himself oral sex. Great, Kevin and Winnie would be proud.

How exactly are Philosophy, Hindu and Buddhism cult relgions??? I can see how a church would be offended by Satanism, Scientology, Paganism, and Wicca...but why the others? Truth is, you could technically be Buddist and Christain, as Buddism is a way of life and not a religion and the two are not in direct conflict with eachother (although technically Wiccan is not really a relgion, but it IS in direct conflict with Christianity). Hindu is a relgion, but it's not really a "cult". And Philosphy is that class that I haven't gotten around to taking yet....

I guess I'm a goth too... pass the Count Chocula :p

Dude, you crack me up. This was posted in the middle of the night. A sure sign that you are goth.

I saw four or five goth kids in their black clothes, silver jewelry, and tons of make up walking around Brooklyn when it was almost 80 degrees in August. It was funny watching these kids sweat up a storm with their make up dripping down their faces. I wanted to tell them to wear summer colors and less make up when it's over 75, but they frightened me a little.
