Greeks in Your Workspace

After going to a happy hour with people from work I was amazed at how many different greeks I work with. This is what I have:

Delta Tau Delta
Chi Omega
Zeta Tau Alpha
Sigma Alpha Epsilon
Phi Mu Alpha

How many greeks work in your area and which GLO?

tunatartare 10-09-2004 08:02 PM

Over the summer and winter, I work for Pediatrics Administration in the hospital. From seeing people's resumes, I know that we have a Lambda Chi and an AKA. I don't know if there's anyone else though.

Lady Pi Phi 10-09-2004 08:31 PM

At my last job I found out the guy that sat across from is a Sigma Chi.

I only found this out after he saw me reading Greek Chat ;)

RUASTgrrl 10-09-2004 08:50 PM

is it a good idea to put your GLO on your resume? I think I have it on mine, but should I take it off? What do employers think?

tunatartare 10-09-2004 09:49 PM

Obviously I don't know what employers think about putting your GLO on your resume, but I've had to see a lot of resumes for my job, and the only time I ever really see Greek Letters on a resume are when it's in for an honorary or professional GLO, not a social one.

ZTAngel 10-10-2004 08:50 PM

From what I know, I work with a Chi Phi and a Phi Kappa Theta. There could be others that are Greek but they haven't mentioned it.

HotDamnImAPhiMu 10-10-2004 10:40 PM

There's another thread about this somewhere........

I work with a Sig Ep, a Phi Delta Theta, and a Alpha Delta Pi.

ztabchbum 10-11-2004 11:17 AM

Our old Director of Operations (he just switched jobs) is a Tau Kappa Epsilon.

One of the recruiters used to be an Alpha Tau Omega (he deactivated after his parents stop paying for it).

One of the Project Cooridnators is a Zeta Phi Beta.

Going through the parking garage I've only noticed one other greek person and she's a Sigma Sigma Sigma.

At job #2 my boss (and best friend) used to be a Delta Delta Delta (she deactivated after leaving school).

:D

aephi alum 10-11-2004 12:12 PM

I know someone on my team is in a fraternity, but I don't know which one.

I've seen Alpha Kappa Alpha and Kappa Alpha Psi license plate frames in the parking lot.

Sistermadly 10-11-2004 11:14 PM

One of the women in the Chicago branch of my team is a Pi Phi.

RhoSigma2003 10-12-2004 09:45 AM

One of our Assistant Front Office Managers is a Delta Gamma and one of our Front desk managers is a Phi Beta Sigma.

Here's the link to the other thread:

Greeks in your workplace

I work with a Chi O, and that's the only other greek I know here....

FAB*SpiceySpice 10-12-2004 12:26 PM

I work with a bunch of greeks. There is:

1 Beta Theta Pi
1 Lambda Chi Alpha
2 Alpha Chi Omega's
1 Delta Delta Delta
3 Phi Mu's (myself included)
1 Alpha Phi
1 Alpha Delta Pi
1 Pi Kappa Alpha

I know there are a few more but I am forgetting which ones right now...

AOX81 12-04-2004 06:28 PM

I work with a girl who is a Sigma Kappa. :)

Sister Havana 12-05-2004 02:56 AM

The new account exec in my department (who sits next to me) is a Theta Chi. The girl who I replaced (who is an account exec in real estate now) is a Delta Zeta.

trojangal 12-05-2004 11:37 AM

Too many to count!!

I know of several!

Chi Omega
Zeta Tau Alpha
Phi Mu ( this seems to be the largest #)
Delta Delta Delta
Alpha Delta Pi
Delta Zeta

Mostly know about the ladies..don't know about the men...

I teach at a local middle school--several of the ladies were Greek in school. Interestingly enough, our local high school has a complete list of all ladies at that school who were Greek that is available should a student decide to rush. The idea is that would help the young woman should she decide to rush. A friend of mine had a daughter who pledged Tri-Delta...they had no idea who had written her letters until about a week after she pledged. Great to see so many women willing to help out the young ladies who they feel would be an asset to GLOs.

One day I was talking to my Soror "NinjaPoodle" and i introduced her as my Sorority Sister, and the person we were chatting with exclaimed "Oh! I was in D Phi E when I was in school!

winneythepooh7 10-28-2005 10:00 AM

We have a new staff member starting on my team soon. I checked out her resume and learned that she is an AKA, AND she also graduated from the same school I went to undergrad, and also was an RA like me :D. I think she will be a great asset already and I haven't even met her yet LOL.........

adpiucf 10-28-2005 02:23 PM

I've worked with lots of Greeks---

KD
ADPi
DDD
Kappa
TKE
Pi Phi
KA
ATO
Pi Kapp
Pike
ZTA

and so on...

texas*princess 10-29-2005 12:06 PM

At my current job I work w/ a Lambda Chi Alpha & an Alpha Phi!

KSigkid 10-29-2005 12:39 PM

One of the people in my office is a Tri-Sig.

There are also a couple of Phi Beta Kappas in the office, but that's a different story.

IUPphimu 10-29-2005 12:54 PM

I work with a Tri-Sigma and an ASA.

Sister Havana 10-30-2005 11:24 PM

GLOs represented in my department (that I know of)

Theta Chi
Kappa Alpha Theta
Kappa Delta
Delta Zeta
Alpha Kappa Alpha
Delta Phi Mu
and of course Alpha Phi Omega :D

We had another KD and an SDT but they left this summer.

MissMonika 10-31-2005 02:21 AM

Here is what I know of:

Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. (That's Me:cool: )
Delta Sigma Theta
Alpha Kappa Alpha
Kappa Alpha Psi
Omega Psi Phi
Phi Gamma Theta (local sorority)

We also had a member of Alpha Phi Alpha as an Intern. He is back at school now.

There was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon but he left...

JenMarie 10-31-2005 08:55 PM

I found out one of my co-workers is a Phi Kappa Tau. Apparently he is instrumental in getting his chapter re-chartered at Sac State. I haven't heard anything yet.

I don't know about anyone else... though we have a TON of people that were probably greek in their college days. I'll have to find out.

AlphaXiBelle 10-31-2005 09:57 PM

My boss is a Sigma Chi, and one of my co-workers is a Chi Omega. Obviously, I am an Alpha Xi Delta. The Chi Omega and I talk a lot about our sorority days, which drives the other women in the office crazy. Of the 7 interns that I have hired, 2 were Greek: Zeta Tau Alpha and Chi Omega.

skylarjordan 11-01-2005 03:26 AM

One of my supervisors is an APhiA and I also work with a KD and a Sigma Kappa. I've also heard a rumor that my boss is a Phi Mu, but I don't know how true that is considering how anti-GLO she is. And I'm DLP. That's really about it in my building; department-wide I'm sure there are more.
