Inspired by one of my friends... I thought this would be a really cool positive thing to share :)

What are 5 things you're thankful for/happy about today? Anything, no matter how superficial you might think it is.

*weekends off
*really long showers
*cheese bread
*being able to go to Atlantic City with Chris tonight because I need that sort of mini-vacation
*warm fuzzy bathrobes :)

What an absolutely lovely idea! I know that, in the past few years, I've been increasingly grateful for many things I had previously taken for granted!

*Knowledge and the ability to share it, such as genealogy, etc.
*My eyesight.
*I have the use of a computer 24/7 - even on the road!
*The sky was an amazing shade of azure blue, with fluffy white clouds!
*I found two books (which I haven't read) by an author I love!

1 - my wonderful husband and family
2 - my 2 doggies - even though they are part of #1 :)
3 - it is saturday and i can wear pajamas ALL DAY
4 - that the UT volunteers won a great football game today
5 - friends who come help move heavy furniture so i don't have to. haha!

** Knowing that I'm going to be starting my master's degree in January
** Having a wonderful, supportive family
** Getting to relax in my pj's most of the day
** Starbucks Vanilla Frappuccino (and not getting charged "tax" :mad: )
** Watching TV tonight that's repeats and I don't have to pay close attention to it :)

I am thankful for the following:

1. That I am out of the Arizona heat (at least temporarily) & visiting Shannan
2. That I'm relaxing right now
3. Charmed is on tonight :)
4. That the amusement park Shannan and I went today wasn't crowded at all.

number five is a today and yesterday thankful..

5. That my dog, Lady, had a good 17 years with me and my family before my parents had to put her to sleep (which had to be done yesterday and my dad isn't taking it too well).

* we had a safe trip to and from the Renissance Festival!
* I was able to spend the weekend with my closest friends and met many more
* it didn't rain during RenFest
* I have a big kid job now and have every weekend off!
* LONG HOT SHOWERS after a weekend of camping!

2. My doggie looks so cute and smells so good after going to the groomer.
3. I am not throwing up nearly so much.
4. Church was inspiring today.
5. The laundry is all caught up at our house finally.

1. I'm happy that I get to meet Andrea today
2. I'm excited to see the Beta Tau house and possibly meet some of the collegians
3. As much as I've loved visiting Shannan, I miss home and I'm happy to be going home tomorrow (I get to see my doggy. LOL)
4. I'm happy because I spoke to my mortgage company (well it was yesterday) and I think I'll be getting approval for my home anytime now (I'll let y'all know as soon as I do)
5. I'm happy that I'm on a break from work (although I'll be going back next Monday).

2. I go to work tomorrow (I'm actually looking forward to this because last week my kids were AWESOME!!!!)

3. I found a great book on how to teach my kids how to read

4. I got my halloween costume (I'm going as a nurse, so last minute but I just found out Friday that there will be a costume parade this coming Friday for halloween)

5. I got to talk to my good friend Melody (see we are both EXTREMELY busy so we don't get to talk that often so when we do I think we both kind of "savour" the conversation)

1. Still smiling about the 35-34 upset of Baylor over Texas A&M.
2. A new, amazing, wonderful, superly happy relationship.
3. A great job
4. It's 3:35, 5 minutes ago the little darlings I call 7th period just left.
5. I get to vote today.

Some of these might sound slightly mean-spirited, but that's not how they're intended... and they really did just make my day better.

1. It was World Language Knowledge Bowl day, so I didn't have to teach. It was a nice break.
2. There's this kid who has been grating on my nerves for quite a while now, and I FINALLY was given a good enough reason to write him up (you just do NOT tell a teacher to shut up!). Now maybe he'll stop being such a terror.
3. My French 1 class kicked butt in the Knowledge Bowl!!
4. I voted in my first presidential election! (I missed the last one because I couldn't get an absentee ballot in time)
5. I had my wrist brace on today (every now and then, it swells up and really hurts, but when the brace is on, it feels better. Nobody really knows what it is, but I'm dealing with it), and so many kids asked me if I was ok. It was just nice to know they at least pretend to care...

Please forgive me for this crash but I have to tell you how impressed I am with the ladies of Alpha Delta Pi! You have such a true love for eachother and for the ideals of your sisterhood. It's a beautiful thing to observe!! You truly live up to your open motto!

*I'm so touched by the respect of Deltazeta4ever and the others who have been kind enough to visit our Forum and speak well of us! Thank you, thank you!!

*I was able to turn a rotten situation (bratty kid at the polls) into a elementary civics lesson, and hopefully got him excited about the Democratic Process!

*(This amazes me!) The head of our party's workers has been followed for the past four months by a European film crew - because having volunteers work on an election in Europe is virtually unheard of! What an honor!

*I am blessed with some of the best, sweetest, and most fervent prayer partners on earth! Oh, and did I mention that some are also our sisters?!?!?!?! :)

*And I hope that each of us, no matter the outcome of this election, can say that we as a country are wonderfully and awesomely blessed! To be able to vote, without fear of being shot if our candidate loses! To be a woman, and able to vote! To be "only" 18, and to be able to vote! We are truly blessed!!

*homecooked meals
*getting to sleep in for a change...
*finally getting that hair appointment I've been meaning to get for over a month now... and on such short notice! It's usually really hard to get in with my hairdresser...
*Sarah McLachlan's new cd, Afterglow. If you haven't heard it yet, it's unbelievably relaxing, and I strongly reccommend it.
*laughing so hard that my stomach hurt for an hour after...

---It's finally cold enough to wear those new boots!!!

1. President Bush was elected to 4 more years! Yah hoo!

3. Our varsity volleyball team (i'm the assistant coach) made it through Area and is now at the regional tournament. 3 more games till the State final 4
4. I have found a wonderful guy
5. Funny 10th graders who make me laugh

3. Looking forward to having family in town for Thanksgiving (and my birthday)
