Desperate Housewives

Who's going to tune in? I might see what it's all about. It looks like it might be funny.

cutiepatootie 10-02-2004 11:24 AM

I can't wait to see it tomorrow night.

Ditto. I see ABC on Sunday nights will become my fave with Extreme Makeover and Desperate Housewives. I went to the show's website the other day at work and learned more about the characters.

smiley21 10-02-2004 12:42 PM

it had been called the next "Sex and the City" for the fashion

VIOLETGRL24 10-03-2004 01:36 AM

Looking forward to this.

GeoffZ 10-04-2004 01:07 AM

I think it's a great show. All four of the main characters/storylines are interesting. I like how it mixes comedy, drama, and mystery.

The best scene was Gabby mowing the lawn in her evening gown and heels.

valkyrie 10-04-2004 01:11 AM

It was a lot better than I expected in a ha-ha-don't-take-it-at-all-seriously sort of way, although I didn't watch the whole thing.

Unregistered- 10-04-2004 03:02 AM

Friggin' hilarious. Almost spit out the iced tea after the kid's "Stepford Wife" comment because I know a girl who's totally obsessed with vacuuming and doing her husband's laundry.

Best part of the show so far? The gardener boy. I've been in love with him since he played "Miguel Lopez-Fitzgerald" on Passions. :p

I think I'll be staying home more often on Sundays. :)

CrimsonTide4 10-04-2004 07:56 AM

For those who missed it, it will repeat on Saturday at 10 EST.

I liked it. Marcia Cross always manages to frighten me with her roles.

The story behind the fire is hilarious. I cannot wait to find out what caused that woman to kill herself and why her husband is digging up the pool.

The garden man is SESSY AS HELL!! :o

Woohoo, thanks for posting this. I was trying to stay up last night and watch it but I had a migraine and just couldn't do it :( I was so mad! Very few shows that I actually WANT to watch.

I didn't even see the end of Extreme Makeover Home Edition last night :(

jess_pom 10-04-2004 09:04 AM

I <3 Desperate Housewives. It's great! Can't wait til next week, I'm already addicted!!!

I missed the beginning of it so I don't know anything besides David being autistic. :( But that house was AMAZING. I want a 2 story master bedroom suite. :D

Steeltrap 10-04-2004 11:04 AM

Good show

I want Gabrielle's Birkin. Well, actually I have a couple of Birkin replicas (good looking ones, not cheapo copies) and will rock them regularly this fall.

Marcia Cross does chilly socialite-style women like Bree very well. I know she comes from Melrose Place, but don't remember if Kristin Davis was on at the same time. I was cracking up when her husband complained about how her hair didn't move.

When I see Felicity Huffman's Lynette (sp?), that gives me the heebie-jeebies about being a mom.

Oh hell yes!

I'll be keeping my eye on this show. It was funny in all the wrong ways. :D Bree's kids crack me up. As does 'what's her face's' daughter... I'm spacing on her name for some reason.

ladyj39 10-04-2004 02:30 PM

I loved this show! I am really curious as to what the big secret is. Loved Gabrielle mowing the lawn in her dress and the fire! I can't decide which new show I like better, this or Lost!

Unregistered- 10-04-2004 02:50 PM

There are three women on that show that most of us are familiar with.

Maybe it has something to do with Marcia Cross' physical attributes, but why does she always seem to play someone unstable? The only normal part she's had (to my knowledge) is the HIV-infected doctor on Everwood.

I haven't heard anything about Nicolette Sheridan (Edie) since Knots Landing, and it's no surprise that she's still the neighborhood harlot...though she does show signs of aging.

And Teri Hatcher...it's hard to look at her and not think "Lois Lane".

Please ABC, give us more gardener boy!

cashmoney 10-04-2004 03:49 PM

I watched it.....my roomies GF made us watch it. If I had to pick the type of wife I'd have later...it'd be the blonde one who has all the kids and the sex crazed husband.

HIJACK!
OTW, can you fill me in real quick on what happened to her character in Everwood towards the end of last season? I wasn't a very faithful viewer due to my schedule :(

Unregistered- 10-04-2004 07:13 PM

From what I recall (I wasn't that great of a viewer either), after the town found out about her HIV status, everyone went crazy and her brother got sued for malpractice (since they were practicing medicine together). Linda decides to leave Everwood for good. Andy's sad, but she leaves anyway. I can't remember if she said where she was off to, but she was probably off to see the rest of the world like she did before she came back to Everwood.

BetteDavisEyes 10-04-2004 08:29 PM

I loved the show. Will continue to watch it. Now I have 2 shows I actually look forward to watching this season. LOST & DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES.

Tippiechick 10-05-2004 12:19 AM

Ok, I got a phone call in the last few minutes of the show. What happened in regards to the fire? I know the N. Sheridan's house burned, but that is it.

I LOVE this show.

Jill1228 10-05-2004 04:31 AM

I am in love with this show! i am going to watch the encore on Saturday to catch the stuff I missed while cooking dinner

**Spoiler**
Teri Hatcher is standing there watching the fire when the hot plumber come walking up after going to the movies.

Saturday at what time?

GeoffZ 10-05-2004 12:12 PM

Saturday at 10 pm

AGDee 10-10-2004 06:34 PM

I caught it last night and am so glad I did! With Sopranos on hiatus, now I have something to watch on Sunday nights!

What a great show!

Dee

Xylochick216 10-10-2004 06:50 PM

I finally watched my tape of it today (I have the most ungodly work schedule... have to be there by 4am, so I have to go to bed early :( ) and I LOVE it. I'll be taping it all season :)

jojapeach 10-10-2004 08:32 PM

I can't wait until it comes on tonight! It's obvious that this show is the only one that will get my undivided attention. I have to tape "Lost", but those are the two shows that thrill me and give me hope that the entertainment industry hasn't run out of ideas and creativity.

I liked Bree's husband's comment about being stuck in a detergent commercial because of her obsession with being perfect. Good stuff!

10-10-2004 10:04 PM

I rarely get addicted to shows like this, but I just watched tonight's epsiode and I'm HOOKED!!! :D

Gina1201 10-10-2004 10:09 PM

Tonight's episode was so good!! I still want to know what's up with the chest and also now what's up with Mike.

Ditto!! I was horrified to see her put gravy on herself like that.

I was LMAO when those kids came and bit the lady and kicked her, but I see they behaved.

I know that she wants a man and all but the gravy was a bit much.

I was CTFU when she stepped to the cop and the lady about her kids. IMO, those kids need a spanking or something. Yelling and Time out does not work all the time.

If the dog don't like you, don't let him lick you. THAT IS JUST GROSS to me. :(

Girl she let that cop know but the same way she got tough with the cop and the lady, she needs to be just as tough with those boys and whoop them. I WOOOOSH my kids would.

AGDee 10-11-2004 06:41 AM

I actually felt sad that the episode was over last night.. I want MORE!!!! The chest, who/what is Mike investigating, why did she kill herself, will the nosey neighbor lady say something about the measuring cup to anybody... so many loose ends that the perfect wife/mother can't sew up! What is the gardener going to do? Will the husband find out? Will the one with all the kids get pregnant again?

Dee

I agree; I needed 30 more minutes, lol.

I love how the gardener gave her such a simple gift but the husband's gift still did not compare.

I cannot wait to see how this show ends up this season.

The nosy neighbor lady needs to get on somewhere.

I love Susan's daughter Julie though.

jess_pom 10-11-2004 09:13 AM

As much as I love this show, do you think it can keep it up for numerous seasons? I mean, how much turmoil can there be on one street? Please don't let the guy from Passions bring along the timeframe from that show!!! (Like one day in Passions world lasts a month in realtime.)

aphibeach 10-12-2004 09:05 PM

this show is the new 90210 and Melrose Place and look how long they lasted.....trust me, this show will stick around if the writers keep being creative

i want to know what's in the chest. and my mom thinks that Mike is going after the husband who's wife is cheating on him (with the gardener)

or the husband whose wife killed herself and whatever is in that chest.:o

kk_bama 10-13-2004 03:31 PM

The show surprised me. This may be the only show I routinely watch, as I am not a huge WB fan.

I'm more of an Adult Swim/Friends reruns/Drew Carey kind of girl, but this show has got me hooked!

cutiepatootie 10-16-2004 11:34 AM

Did anyone see them on Oprah yesterday?
