How exactly is it a debate if they're not allowed to talk to each other? That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard in my life. While we're at it, let's go to the art gallery blind-folded.

I did that last week.

I'm beginning to wonder if, in the age of media overkill, do we really need debates?

Seriously, did anyone hear ONE new thing?

Did anyone really change their mind even a little bit by the debate?

I watched the football game. I'm voting for Navy.

Even the media questions their value -- which is why only NBC, of the three on air networks who do news, carried the debate.

It's also why they didn't carry the conventions gavel-to-gavel.

They have become highly controlled, produced, program length commercials.

A few of the undecided voters will probably use the debates to tip the scale, but you have to question whether that makes it worth all of the hoopla.

My mind changed a bit: debates where the debators cannot respond to each other suck.

Now excuse me, I must yell at my cat for making me chase him around the outside of the house.

I went to a concert. I voted for Miller Lite and dancing.

I watched parts. Didn't plan on it, but it was on TV in the other room. I'd watch it, realize that I was wasting my time and then pursue other activities.

From what I saw it was pretty bad.

I watched Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen and Mean Girls while drinking cider. I'm voting for Woodchuck!

A campaign I can get behind!

Huh? All the channels here in Pittsburgh carried it. the CBS, NBC, FOX and I think ABC (ABC is the only one i'm not certain of). Not to mention all the cable news channels

They all had it in Chicago too I think.

Boy, that's pretty interesting. I wonder if the networks offered a choice? That would be unheard of.

I know that, unlike previous debates, all of the networks who did carry it had the option of taking all of the cameras in what we call clean or iso feeds and switch them as they saw fit instead of everyone taking the same feed.

If I find out any more, I'll post it.

I read in a Survivor newsgroup that it was up to the local channels on whether they carried the debate or not. I know that in Detroit, at least CBS and NBC carried it (along with PBS). I didn't check the others. When I saw NBC wasn't sticking to the rule of showing only the candidate who was speaking at the time, I stuck with that coverage.

They did. ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, PBS, C-Span, and all the cable news channels.

I watched it on C-Span. They had the split screen so we could see all the reaction shots. :)

Did anyone hear anything other than "mixed signals" come from the mouth of either candidate? If this were a drinking game, I would have passed out so fast!
