Penn State
Article from the online Daily Collegian
Evidently, approximately 400 girls received bids last night, and the new online system made things go more smoothly. According to the article: " Jane Neitz, assistant director of fraternity and sorority life, said that each chapter accepted approximately the same number of new members. 'Each chapter took 20 freshmen or sophomore status [members] and one junior," she said.' Neitz said the new online registration system that PHC implemented this year was successful. '[The online system] is the best thing that's happened to our recruitment in a long time," she said.' Ashby also said the system had been very convenient. 'The system worked out great. The chapters found it to be easier as well as the members,' she said." I'd be interested in hearing from anyone on GC who knows how things went - did all the sororities made quota (or close to it?)Anyone know how ASA did? |
Quota was posted as 21, so it sounds like they all did well! Anyone know the number of DZ new members? Congrats to everyone!!

How did ZTA do?
It's great to hear that recruitment went well there! |
I'm trying to find out any info I can get. DZ and ZTA should have made quota though.
|
KD has 21 new members.
From what i've been told, the new system took some getting used to but certainly worked out well in the end. |
sigma kappa made quota at 21. apparently we were the only sorority in east to make quota. which means, DZ, ADP, SSS didn't make quota. i don't know by how much though.

i'll talk to a couple of my sisters and see if i can find out who did or didn't make quota.

I know Phi Mu took 9 and according to hearsay (which may be wrong), Tri-Delt and Theta took quota.
|
Anybody know how AZD did? :)
|
The PSU-ADPi website shows 18 Alphas, so they must be in the throes of COBbing for those last 3!
|
AOII received 21 on bid day!
|
ZTA took 21.

DG took 24 but some of them are at least COBs because they didn't make quota on Bid Day but they were pretty close.
Oh yeah, I forgot, Gamma Phi took 22-24 as well. |
How did my ASA chapter do?

How did the fraternities do?

new system ... any security concerns ??
I've heard only bits and pieces about new computer systems used for recruitment, either PC based software (member organizations bring/receive diskettes back and forth) or via internet.
For anyone that's used them, what is the security like ? Can the personal information about recruitment guests (their name, student ID number, grade point average, etc.) be protected ? My fear would be a security breech, and if personal information got out to the wrong people (anyone besides the PNM), who would be held responsible ? Greek Life office ? GLOs ? Anyone have any experience with these issues ? |
Does anyone know how Delta Zeta did?

AXiD Pledged 22

Anyone know how Tri Sigma did?

Howdy PSU'ers ;-)
hi!
I was on Google trying to find out how to contact the PSU Tri Delts and came upon this thread so thought I'd join in. I'm a Penn State grad and Tri Delt as well as TKE little sister (I don't think they have little sisters any more unfortunately). anyhow, I'm hoping to get some Penn State support--my humorous women's fiction manuscript is a finalist in a national fiction contest and the winner gets their book published. The contest runs for two weeks a month through March, with two contesants with the least # of votes being kicked off (it's called American Title, modeled after American Idol). Whoever gets the most votes gets the book deal. So if any of you guys want to help out a fellow alum, I'd be thrilled if you would vote for me. Easiest way to vote is posted in my signature below, or you can link the contest through my website and follow along. Also feel free to paste this into an email and forward on to your friends. Thanks so much for your help! |
Senior Rush
I don't go to penn state but I have a friend who'd really like to be part of greek system @ psu.
I am in a sorority myself at one of the SUNY schools and our chapter actually has history of initiating senior pledges but I don't know how penn state system works. Is it completely unheard of a senior going through recruitment at Psu? To tell you little more about my friend, she has 2 semesters left (graduating in December 2007) and her school has informal rush in spring. She rushed 2 years ago and got a bid but coudln't pledge because her parents were getting divorced and it just wasn't the right time. |
