Did Anyone Watch UPN's Kevin Hill?
 

What did you think? I heard good reviews, so I watched it and was VERY impressed. Truly a diverse cast, very well written, great characters (I LOVED the nanny!) and a great plot.

I will be watching this next week. Too bad its against Bernie Mac. :(

I'll have to catch it next week. It was up against the Apprentice, so.... Good thing the Apprentice will be moving back to Thursdays.

I missed it. I was watching the Donald. I'll catch it when Apprentice moves to Thursday.

I thought it was pretty good. I'll be tuning in next week!

Definitely a good show. I missed ANTM so I have to watch the tape of that tonight but Kevin Hill is a great show.

It got excellent reviews, but I was out to dinner with some work colleagues and missed it. :(

I lost track of what time it came on, and I missed it, too. Hopefully I can catch it next week. The babyperson looked cute.

This show was very good. The storyline was really good. It is going to be one of my must see shows.

I thought it was a good show, and I will be tuned into it again next week.

I know it's wong to talk about kids but the baby in the show is not the cutest bundle of joy.

I got the opportunity to watch the show. I was quite happy with the quality of the show. It definately has made it to my "must see TV list." :) My list is rather short.... so far only Girlfriends and Kevin Hill. Everything else thus far is truly optional.

I thought it was a good show. I will definitely be adding it to my must see TV list.

Steeptrap, I am going to have to agree with Cali_Keisha about the babyperson. Not the cutest babyperson, precious, but not the cutest.

That baby looked its best at the absolute end when she was playing with Taye Diggs' lip; she has some rough hair and a pretty big forehead. :o Maybe she'll grow into that forehead. :eek:

The show's on as I write this and so far, it's a pretty decent show. Predictable, but Diggs is very watchable and quite the capable actor. I also like the dynamic between Kevin and the gay Nanny.

I watched the show again tonight on UPN.... I am still loving it.:D

If this continues, Kevin Hill will be amongst Living Single, Cosby, Different World, Sanford & Son, and Three's Company.... classics that can be watched over and over and over and over again :)

Here in NC it came on again Friday night after America's Next Top Model.

Yes. She is lighter with "curly" hair.

HMPH!!! All they had to do to baby #1 was brush her hair with some good moisturizer.:o :(

I saw that in the previews and got mad. I mean, it's not like the other baby was ugly, she just had the nappy gappies.

Well, I saw the first episode and still stand by my thoughts that the babypeople who played Sarah are cute. :cool: Their real names are Catherine and Christobel.

She actually looked like she could have been Taye's baby. Well, that is if his wifey would have been AF AM. :rolleyes: :o

Okay?!?!? Last night's ep. Cute baby but why for previews for coming eps, it looks like YET ANOTHER DIFFERENT BABY. :confused:

I loved last night's ep though.

I loved the episode too and also loved the music to the song at the end.

And new babyperson looked a little mature. . .just appeared to me to look a little older than she is.

I think I'm officially hooked. Good thing Bernic Mac was a repeat.

They used 5 babies for Sara, so that explains why she looks so different. Why come his boy is trying to play him all the time? lol The nanny cracks me up.

I know right...can't he see that he is trying to do the right thing, and plus he has become really attached to this child.

The nanny is hella-funny. It was so funny when he told Kevin that he thought the baby spoke a word but didn't want to tell him that the word was daa daa. And why in the heck was he trying to get an infant to say Cousin Kevin...I thought fall out I would.

Lots of tots make 1 TV baby

Kids grow up so fast. But for kid actors, the growth spurt can lead to a pink slip.
That's what happened on UPN's drama "Kevin Hill."

The show's first episode, in which unsuspecting ladies' man Taye Diggs was saddled with his deceased cousin's baby daughter, was filmed in March.

By the time the show went back into production in August, the twin girls who appeared in the pilot had "aged out."

The baby switch confused some viewers. Listeners called Wendy Williams' WBLS-FM show last week, suggesting the new African-American baby was cast because she is lighter-skinned.

Nonsense, said UPN officials.

In fact, the show now uses five babies, including two sets of twins, from three families.

"It's extremely difficult to do a drama with infant actors," said a UPN spokeswoman.

That's because a day on the set of an hour-long TV drama can easily exceed 18 hours. Labor laws stipulate that child actors cannot be on a set more than eight hours a day. And they cannot "work" for more than 15 minutes at a time before they get a 20-minute break.

All of which makes for a lot of baby swapping. So much so, it's not uncommon for both sets of the "Kevin Hill" twins to be used in a single episode, according to the network.

And it's possible there will be more baby changes on "Kevin Hill." And next time, according to the network, it might be for the opposite reason.

"As the show progresses," said a spokeswoman, "we may need to cast an older baby."

Is it only me? Or does it seem odd that there really aren't any minority (black) defendants? Michael Michelle's character does not count. :D

Shoot the only Black folks are Kevin, baby, Michael Michelle, her child, and Kevin's grandmother. :( I still watch it though.:confused:

Yeah, I am conflicted by this show. There are good story lines but the racial makeup gets to me. :confused:

I haven't watched the show at all yet. For some reason it just doesn't appeal to me and I'm not a big Taye Diggs fan.

From the previews however it looks like they match him up with white women. Is this an accurate assessment? It bothered me at first and maybe that's why I haven't watched. That and that the baby was changed to a lighter baby. But the explanation for that I read somewhere was, it's a challenge to get any one infant on a consistent basis. :confused:

I figured he may have requested that he be paired romantically with white women b/c his wife is white. But either way I doubt that I will watch the show. Maybe once. There has been shows that I ended up watching that I had no intention on watching and became hooked so maybe I'll give it try.

This show has turned out to be a very good show in my opinion, and I really like it, now I don't like the fact that he isn't ever hooked up with a woman of color.

It is a very good show. I believe they are hooking him up with the actress from the first episode. She is back in town and I believe they are dating now. She is black (or at least looks it to me).

I see her as more of a Hispanic before I see Black.:confused:

Wasn't the attorney for the basketball/football team of color?

She looked racially ambiguous too. <~~~~~ phrase I was looking for earlier for actress who plays actress on show, lol.

I will go along with that. I kept asking myself if she was a woman of color. Tha actress chick that they having him dating....I have no idea what her background could be.
