I saw this on the Pi Beta Phi site, and thought it would be an interesting "poll" for us, also.

Please note if you are an active or an alumna (Alpha, Delta, or Pi).

How often do you wear ... ?

I'm an Alumna.

1) I usually have on a lavelier at least twice a week.

2) Depends on the season. In the summer, often. In the winter, rarely. (edited to add: Blue is NOT my best color!)

3) Only to Chapter events and meetings, or to Panhellenic events. I'm having mine "personalized", so maybe I'll wear it more often! It's about time I have my ring re-sized, too...!

I'm an Alumna too.

1. Until baby Case starting taking over my body, I wore my letters about once a week. I love my letters. :)

2. Always. Blue is my favorite color. And, what goes better with blue than white....with a few touches of violet.

3. Only for special events and ADPi functions. Much like honey, that is a reserved occassion. But it is always worn with the respect and love that I know it deserves.

1) Our letters? I do not wear my letters out in public really at all-- but my pajamas consist of an ADPi shirt almost on a nightly basis!

2) Our colors?
Just like Sherra my favorite color is blue! So I wear blue alot-- not as much white though!

Ditto on what the other two said-- for ADPi/Greek occasions only!

I too an an Alumna.......

1.) ADPi Letters ~ I wear them at least 3-4 times a week. I dont to work cause I dress up, but as soon as I am home, I put on my pj pants or shorts and a ADPi shirt to hang out in.

2.) ADPi Colors ~ For me I love blue too, but I love purple more. Usually Im in an ADPi shirt at home and at work Im more in purple shirts, sometimes blue. Though when I wear jeans I break out blue and white sometimes.

3.) ADPi Pin ~ Special occasions, ADPi functions, big days for my job, a few times for a job interview for good luck.

I too am an alumna

1) Well I wear my laniard (did I spell that right?) every day at work (I'm a teacher) and it has the letters on it. I wear a oversized ADPi shirt to bed pretty much 3-4 times a week. As for other shirts and stuff, only on the weekends and that is probably about once or twice a month.

2) I am ALWAYS wearing blue and white. I am also a big purple fan (representing the violet).

3) I don't get to wear my pin as often as I would like too. I wear it at most twice a year. Once during desert with Gamma Rho (because we do it on a Monday night during chapter and we meet the new Alphas). Then the second is Founders Day. Honestly, I wish as an alumna we got to wear our pins more often considering how much we all spent on them. Oh yeah, I wore it on March 1st (national pin day).

1) All the time when I'm lounging around the house. I will wear them occassionally out to run errands on the weekends.

2) I wear blue quite often.

3) Special occassions, Founders Day, National Pin Day, etc.

1. I wear letters on an almost daily basis these days. I live in my ADPi jacket when it's chilly (and when you leave your house every morning at 6:45, it's chilly almost every day lately). I also always seem to grab an ADPi shirt to put in my bag for marching band practice. Maybe it'll be a good influence on some of my band girls... :)

2. I wear a lot less blue now that my hair is dark again... but I own a lot of it!

3. I wore my pin to both of my job interviews for my current job (it was my good luck charm!), and I wear it to church every now and then. I love my pin, and I refuse to let it sit around and collect dust!

Hey you never know! Like I said before-- two women just joined ADPi at Akron that I coached in cheerleading when they were only 8 and 12 years old!! I like to think I had something to do with it! ;)

the first delta to post...

1) Our letters? Pretty much everyday im either wearing a shirt, carrying a bag, or both.

2) Our colors? everyday, blue is my favorite color, and subseqeuntly the color of 6 or 7 of my earrings. the other 3-4 are diamonds. like my birthstone and our symbol. (yes i have 10 holes in my ears. total, not on both)

3) Your pin? once a week!

Well I too am an alum...

1. I would say between wearing t-shirts on weekends and wearing my lavelier during the week, I wear letters probably for about 3 to 4 days out of the week...

2. I don't wear a whole lot of our colors...Unless you count blue jeans... I do wear some blue shirts, but I don't do it on purpose... I am much more likely to be found wearing black...

3. Well since graduating college I have gotten to wear my pin when helping my old chapter with initiation and that is about it... It is really sad... I am looking forward to having more excuses to wear it again...

I'm inactive this semester but when I'm active---

1. Wear my lavaliere loyally every day. Have the pins on my bag, and wear house letters every week:)

2. Don't wear azure blue too much, probably because I love pink and red. Most of my wardrobe consists of those colors.

3. Once a week for meetings :)

I wear our letters everyday. I have a big laveliere that I wear everyday. I usually wear letter shirts at least 3-4 times a week.

My favorite color is blue, but I don't wear a lot of azure, and it's after Labor Day so the white has been put up for a while.

I rarely wear my pin. The only functions I really get dressed up for are dinners and other "work" related functions. I wish I had more opportunity to wear my pin!

AS APPROPRIATE WHEN I AM AT AN ADPI EVENT

2) Our colors?
I WILL ALWAYS HAVE A PREFERENCE FOR AZURE BLUE AND WHITE. SOME OF THE ROOMS IN MY HOME ARE IN SUBTLE ADPI COLORS. AND MY LUGGAGE HAS A SAFETY PIN WITH BLUE AND WHITE RIBBONS TIED TO IT-- BOTH AS A RECOGNITION FOR ME AND AS MY "CLASSY CLASP" AS A REMINDER TO BE AN ADPI LADY.

3) Your pin?
AT SPECIAL ADPI EVENTS AND I OFTEN WILL PIN IT TO THE INSIDE OF MY POCKET WHEN I HAVE A SPECIAL PRESENTATION TO MAKE OR A LIFE EVENT HAPPENING. ADPI IS ONE OF THE BEST THINGS TO EVER HAPPEN TO ME, SO I LIKE TO HAVE MY PIN AROUND FOR "GOOD LUCK" AT TIMES SUCH AS THOSE.

1) Our letters? Often when I get home from work, I put on an ADPi tshirt and on weekends, when I am not doing anything inparticular, I usually wear a letter shirt

2) Our colors? Blue is one of my favorite colors, especially azure or light blue, so I wear it often. White isn't worn as often, though.

3) Your pin? Only on special occassions. I did wear it to job interviews though!!

1) I wear my lavaliere two- three times a week. I gave away most of my letters when I graduated to my diamond, violet and to sisters I was especially close with. I need to get some more.

2) I love the color blue and I wear it a lot. I'm also a toile fanatic. I have a blue and white toile purse I use in the summer.

3) I wear my pin on Founders Day, National pin day, Christmas and ADPi Alum events.

Question: When I got my pin in college I got the "basic" pin. I would like to add some stones around the outside. Do I just take it to any jewler or can I get it done through ADPI? Or should I just try to get one off of Ebay?

I wear letters everyday since I live in a cold place in Arizona and they are on my sweatshirt. My wardrobe for warm clothes are letters.

My sweatshirt is dark blue with rubber duckies

I wear my pin for panhellenic meetings, chapter meetings and happy adpi events. I am really sad because my <> sister almost just lost it so she is now banished from wearing it. All that was on her shirt was the Epsilon Xi of the guard. The pin had come unclasped and the chain for the guard was attached to it. I am soooo happy i don't have any dangles as of yet. The pin still inside her sweatshirt. I am taking it out of comission until initiation the last week in October when my 3rd <> gets it. I have had so many problems with my pin since i got it. Some day I will be able to wear it without any worry of it breaking or unclasping.

1) I wear my letters almost every single day since I wear t-shirts to work.

2) Hard question- I do like blue & white, and I guess a lot of my dressier clothes are blue.

3) I wear my badge once a month probably- to alumnae association meetings or chapter events, workshops for chapters, etc. As most of you know, I live in ADPi's District 5 which is in "tornado alley" and every time we take our tornado precautions, I make sure I have on my wedding ring (which I'm usually bad about wearing) and my ADPi badge. At those times, I don't worry about "pin attire"- I just make sure it's on as I'm headed to the tornado shelter!

1) I wear letters all the time!! I can't wear them to work, but I wear them when I go shopping, or walking with mom, or on the weekend......quite often actually. And I have a bracelet with my lavelier on it (and I wore it every day, until it broke about a week ago)

2) Since I have to dress up for work, it can be hard to think about wearing our colors sometimes, but I have a items that are blue to wear.....and I wear violet a lot too, even though it's not the same thing, it still reminds me of ADPi

3) I don't think I've worn my pin since I graduated from college, but man, I'm looking for places to wear it!!

1) I don't have stitched letters, but I wear letters on an awesome ADPi shirt "King of the Jungle" that the Eta Psi chapter made up. I also has an alumna t-shirt, but that's mostly for meet-ups. So around once every week or two.

2) I don't usually go out of my way to wear blue and white, at least not in our lighter shade of blue. I'll sometimes wear a white top with dark blue pants, but that usually looks basic and boring to me! I'm more red/purple/blue/khaki/black overall.

3) I usually wear my pin once or twice a year-- Founder's Day activities, and NPC badge day.

1. I wear t-shirts with letters on them approximately once a week (if not more often)....ebay has been a great tool for getting shirts! (since I've lost a bunch of weight!)

2. I wear a lot of blue naturally (since it's my favorite color, along with purple), but I don't go out of my way thinking "oh, I'll wear blue/violet/white today for ADPi!"

3. I am getting to the point I get to wear my pin more often than I have since graduation, but still it's only about 1-3 times a month (depending on the number of meetings I'm scheduled to attend as advisor, and other special events/AA functions)

I'm an Alumna.

1) I used to wear t-shirts from college to sleep in every night, but they don't fit me now that I'm huge and pregnant. (and something is just strange about seeing our letters stretched across a pregnant tummy) :)

2) I rarely wear our colors because I wear a lot of pinks, reds, and black. Blue doesn't look great on me.

3) I actually can't remember the last time I wore it. I want a ring. Honey, did you have yours made or is it the one you got off of ebay???

I got mine off of ebay. Unfortunately, it's much too small for me (I think it was worn as a pinkie ring), so I need to get it sized. It's going to cost me roughly the same amount to get it sized as it cost in the first place! Also, it's set up and down, instead of side to side (if y'all know what I mean), so I'd like to have that fixed, too. I've seriously considered selling it to a sister and starting all over again - but I really, really do want to have a ring!!

so to give you all a better idea...

yesterday while we were loading the buses to leave for our marching band competition, one of the kids, seeing my sweatshirt, says, "Alpha Delta Pi? Again? Miss P*****, do you own any clothes that DON'T say Alpha Delta Pi?" :D

Sounds as if you're doing a great job teaching those kids!

FYI, my sixth grade teacher made up learn the Greek alphabet - frontwards AND backwards! On my first day as a New Member of Alpha Delta Pi, they were AMAZED that I already knew the Greek Alphabet!!

How often do you wear ... ?

1) Our letters? All the time. I have so many that I could wear a different shirt everyday for nearly a month. My sisters here say that i won't have any clothes after i leave college. I'll practically have to find a whole new wardrobe. But i will keep the letters that are near and dear to my heart, because my life long membership will never be without sporting my letters with Pride!(hey, i might put it in my will to take them with me to the grave! haha)

2) Our colors? other than when i am wearing letters i where blue a lot. And purple is my favorite color, so i love to pretend that it is our color too (it can pass because of the violets and all... woo hoo!)

3) Your pin? I like to dress up once in a while, so when i have pin attire on I love to wear my pin with pride! But this usually happens once a week.

I work with a Marching Band too, and they say the same thing to me. I have all of the garb, hats, coats, shirts, flip flops, and even the cell phone holder... yeah a little over the top, but i love it! And people notice the letters! I like to let it be known to them that Sorority life isn't about partying like on MTV, we really are a sisterhood that teaches you so much more. The sooner they learn that, the more likely we are to squash the stereotypes.

If the shirt I happen to grab has them, I wear 'em. Happens less and less often these days, as my college gear is getting more and more ragged.

2) Our colors?
I have a lot of light blue and white stuff, but never make a point of wearing it together. Blue looks good on me, so I own a lot of it.


3) Your pin?
Not since my last meeting before graduation. To give me some credit, I at least know where it is.

I guess I just don't feel it as much as y'all.

1) I wear some of my old T-Shirts to work out in and I have letters made out of American Flag material that I wear every 4th of July. I gave everything away went I went alum. I wanted all my littles to have most of it. I did keep enough t-shirt to make a blanket that is on the bed in my spare room.

2) Blue is my favorite color so I wear it all the time. In fact I am wearing it today.

3) My pin actually broke not to long before I went alum. The clasp is stuck closed. I haven't had it fixed but I still keep it in a cute little box that my big gave me.

1) Everyday! Try to wear my letter shirts once a week and I can't leave the house without wearing my silver ADPi bracelet... it's my favorite!

2) About 5X a week.... you can usually find me sporting some white and azure blue whether it's a skirt/shirt combo, belt or scarf. :)

3) Only once a week to chapter meetings. It's so pretty, I wish I dressed up more often that way I could wear it more often.

So a week ago today I was in NJ with Leslie. I went with her to the school because the band had to perform at their very last football game of the season. I, of course, was wearing my letters. Now mind you the kids didn't "notice" anything until I got on the bus and then Leslie put a long sleeved t-shirt on that had our letters on it. The kids were like "oh god". It was quite humorous. A few of them actually started asking us what the letters of the Greek alphabet were. So here Leslie and I were standing on the bus and "drawing" out the Greek letters with our hands in the air. Finally Leslie grabbed a peice of paper and drew them.

Not to joke!! As I said on another thread, my sixth grade teacher had us memorize the Greek alphabet both forwards AND backwards as part of "Greek History"! It really shocked my new sisters when, on Bid Night, I was able to sing along with them during our Greek Letter Song!!

Oh, I was partially serious (about getting kids interested in Greek Life, definitely, and I think exposure to letters and "good" examples of Greek life are great) - I was just joking about the "brainwashing" part! :D

How often do you wear ... ?

1) Our letters? more lately since becoming a new advisor. i bought some new shirts from giftmart so i would have some that are presentable. >my ckbook is adpi though and people ask me about it often.

2) Our colors? i love azure blue so i have a quite a few shirts and dresses that have that color, however i wear a uniform to work so most everyday i wear red (hey i am the boss maybe i should change the colors from red and white to azure blue and white)

3) Your pin? well when i got married i wore my pin and since then i have only worn it once (when i went back to a chapter meeting as a "new advisor) > in the process of making a ring out of it though.

I'm an alumna, too.

I wear a lanyard from Convention (azure blue letters on white) on a daily basis to hold my employee id badge. I must wear that badge at all times in the office... so I'm always promoting ADPi!

In the summer I wear a lot of blue and white, not at all during the cold months

I wear my badge a few times a month during the school year - at Chapter meetings and EBoard (I'm an Advisor) - and ALL DAY on National Panhel Badge Day (MARCH 7, 2005!)

I'm yet another Alumna :)

1) I don't wear letters very often since I gave them to my littles when I left. I am slowly accumulating more. I have a few that I wear a lot though, and the ones I don't are going to become a T-shirt quilt.

2) Blue and white are my favorite colors so I am wearing them almost every day...including today actually. I also have to violet colored shirts. I need more azure blue though, most of my blue is darker.

3) Almost never. I think the last time I wore it was Jewel Degree. I will be wering it with pride on March 7th though!
