An AI Story for the boys...

Edited in the interest of discretion.

Wow! This is fantastic!!

I think Joe will be our first proper male PNAM ever! AggieDoc, who was on GC a few years ago, was also interested in AI; but, I don't think he ever got around to it. I'd have to go back and check.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing how Joe fares!

.....Kelly :)

Tom Earp 09-15-2004 10:42 PM

Neat, for Joe!!

Yes Fraternitys do AI but not that seldom. Well, refraze that, NPIC Greek Fraternitys do it a lot more often as many schools that they are on have small Chapters.

Wish him good luck from all of us and would be interested if it happens who He AIed with!:)

I think the Sororitys are much fartehr ahead of Fraternitys on this thing of AI!

hannahgirl 09-15-2004 11:30 PM

Best of luck to Joe! I'm looking forward to hearing about his adventures and finding the right chapter for him!

Jill1228 09-16-2004 01:06 AM

This is different

Hope Joe finds a home!

trojangal 09-17-2004 09:15 AM

Fraternity AI

For Joe:

Welcome to the PNAM class of 2004-2005!

:D

hannahgirl 09-19-2004 09:06 PM

I hope Joe has a great time tomorrow and will hopefully become a member of the Bucs!! It seems like he really enjoys them!

mightymike 09-24-2004 01:22 PM

"Hi, my name is Joe
And I work in a button factory
I have a wife and a fam-i-ly.
One day my boss ... he said Joe "Are you busy?"
I said NO.
Can you press this button with your right hand."

Well.... my name isn't "Joe" - it's Mike.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. It's been quite an interesting ride and it's only been a few weeks. It's a great chapter and I know that my time will be well spent. The guys are great and I've been welcomed from the start. As things progress I'll be sure to keep everyone updated.

Thanks again everyone!

Mike

Sister Havana 09-24-2004 01:53 PM

Welcome Mike! (I remember singing the "Hello, my name is Joe" song in camp many thousands of years ago. :D ) Glad things are going well and can't wait to hear about your progress. :)

Taualumna 09-24-2004 02:03 PM

Welcome to GC, Mike! :)

hannahgirl 09-24-2004 06:04 PM

Welcome Mike!

navane 09-24-2004 06:21 PM

Hi Mike!

Thanks for logging in and joining us! We're really interested in your story as we've never had a man seriously attempt AI before. Best of success to you! I'm sure you'll become a great asset to the Bucs!

.....Kelly :)

mightymike 09-27-2004 10:59 AM

Forward progress. I've been involved with as many things as possible (given that lots of stuff is closed door to me) as a chapter advisor. I'm waiting on training materials from their HQ so I can get a look at how they manage things. So, basically I'm attempting to immerse myself as much as possible.
Mike

mightymike 10-07-2004 04:55 PM

how do you measure progress?

Over the past few weeks I have been working with the chapter with direct contact with HQ and have received quite a bit of direction and enthusiasm. I've never been one for lots of volunteer work but this doesn't seem much like work. I found it exciting to be working with a national group that holds the same ideals as myself. Thanks to everyone that has provided guidance up to this point. Good luck to those pursuing AI; it can be a blast, but expect a long road.

Mike

navane 10-07-2004 10:56 PM

Hey Mike,

I'm sorry that it seems to not be working out with the "Bucs". The fact that you've given so much thought and consideration to an organization's ideals tells me that you are a man of character.

If you're still feeling a connection with the Bucs, perhaps there is another chapter you can work with which may be different than the previous one?

No matter what, the best of success to you!

.....Kelly :)

mightymike 11-18-2004 09:20 PM

It's been a few weeks and a much needed update appears overdue. I've been working extensively with the chapter and things have been giong exceptionally well. Just a few weeks after calling the chapter advisor I was invited to join the board of alumni advisors. My presence has been well accepted and I'm quite excited to be able to donate my time to the chapter.

Late last week, the chapter approached me about alumni initiation and indicated that it should not be a problem and they are hoping to press the court and alumni initiate me in December. So, all-in-all I must say that things seem to have worked out for the best.

As I get more info I'll be sure to do a better job of keeping everyone informed. Take care everyone.

Edited because I can't spell

Taualumna 11-18-2004 09:25 PM

Mike,

Glad to hear that things are going so well with your search! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. Best of luck!

Congratulations!! What wonderful news! You are now, I believe, the 3rd member of the PNAM class to be initiated this fall!

So...I officially start Mike's AI Guesssing Thread...with..

Pi Kappa Alpha

mightymike 12-08-2004 01:49 AM

Not quite although, both the Pikes and the "Panthers" were at my undergraduate college. Nice, solid guess.

Yea Mike!!! http://www.baylorfans.com/ubb/bounce.gif

OleMissGlitter 12-08-2004 12:09 PM

Does anyone know if Delta Tau Delta has AI?

AOIIBrandi 12-08-2004 01:05 PM

I will guess Sigma Nu.

KSUViolet06 12-08-2004 04:33 PM

I have NO clue which fraternities do AI so I'm going to guess my 2 favorites here at Kent, Sigma Chi and Phi Delta Theta.

tunatartare 12-08-2004 04:35 PM

Does TKE do AI?

hannahgirl 12-08-2004 05:40 PM

I'm going to guess.....

Lambda Chi Alpha or Tau Kappa Epsilon
