I will be starting rush at UCLA on Sept. 27th and am really excited!

The sororities are:

Alpha Delta Pi
Alpha Epsilon Phi
Alpha Phi
Chi Omega
Delta Delta Delta
Delta Gamma
Gamma Phi Beta
Kappa Alpha Theta
Kappa Delta
Kappa Kappa Gamma
Pi Beta Phi

My cousin's a DG at USCD and she wrote me a letter of rec. And I also got rec letters for Theta and Alpha Phi from one of our close family friends who I ride horses with. I've looked into the sororities, went to all of their websites, etc. But right now I think I just want to go in with an open mind and see which girls I feel I could get along with best.

Our schedule is:
Mon Sept 27th -
Informational Meeting 1pm, Orientation Meeting, 5:45 pm
Tues Sept 28th -
Recruitment day 1, 11 events, 10am-7:30pm
Wed Sept 29th -
Day 2, 8 events max, 9:30am-6pm
Thurs Sept 30th -
Day 3, 4 events max, 4:30pm-10pm
Friday Oct. 1st-
Preference, 2 events, 5pm-10pm
Sat. Oct 2nd-
Bid day

I went shopping yesterday and got this really cute light blue tweed jacket, lightweight dark grey pants, and these really cute black kitten-heeled sandles. I'm also going shopping the Sunday the 26th...:-)

So far, I'm set on my dress for pref's. It's turquoise, halter, with a really drappy fabric.

For the other days, I still have to decide....

Good luck. Remember go with your heart. Keep an open mind about everyone, but dont shut someone out because of something small. See if you can imagine these people as your sisters and if youd love to spend time with them all the time, you know who you need to go with.

Good luck but i have a question ... how do ya'll rush on school days at times when classes are held? Am i reading this wrong? Anyway I was confused but good luck girlie.

According to the UCLA's school calendar on their website, the first day of instruction isn't until the 30th (UC schools start later than most the other schools)

yea, our classes start the 30th. so the first 2 days, 28th and 29th, we have full days of rush. and then the 3rd and 4th days, rush starts later, like late afternoon/early evening. i can't wait! exactly 2 more weeks until i tour the houses for the first time...

Since rush hasn't started yet, you can still get more recs...I would recommend you getting as many as possible. Multiple recs is an awesome way to go!!! I don't know very much about UCLA rush, but I know at my school it helps when you have as many things as possible!! Just something to think about...nothing to worry about though!!! Good luck!!

I was on my way to work not too long ago, and they're presently occupied with first round parties. I saw the Rho Gamma/RhoChi's sitting out front of the houses in lawn chairs surrounded by the pnms handbags. And the NPC recruitment theme is pretty cute: Enjoy Recruitment (a la CocaCola).
Since they have 11 parties today, I'd imagine she won't report anything till late this afternoon or this evening at the earliest.

Enough of my sisters have wished you good luck, so I'll just give you my hopes that you have a great time during Recruitment, and that you get a bid from the house you love!

Rush parties went until 730pm last night.
They go utnil 6pm ish tonight.
Classes start tomorrow and then rush at night until about 8.
Preference on Friday until 9pm
Bid day is Saturday.

About 370 PNMs went to the parties on Day 1.

Rush went really well....was completely exhausted the majority of the days so I didn't have time to post. Bid day was yesterday! And was so much fun! :-) I love all of my new sisters! They're incredible!
