Alias season 4 speculation
 

So I decided since we have to wait until January for Alias to start a thread speculating what we think will happen. Here are some of my "random" guesses. :)

1. Jack is secretly a part of the Covenent and was behind Syd's kidnapping. or..

2. Jack is a member of the group that "hunts for" Rambaldi artifacts (the group that Vaughns dad was a part of) and he also believed that the prophecy was true about Sydney.

3. Irina is "the man". I mean come on Quientan Tarantino guest starred again this past season and he is still working for 'the man'. Plus it seems to me that in season 2 the show hinted that Irina was 'the man'.

4. Lauren isn't dead. That was a clone that Vaughn killed. Maybe the 'real' Lauren wasn't Covenent and she is locked away someplace far far away. He he.

5. Someone else in the CIA, someone we wouldn't suspect, is Covenant. Lauren did say that the CIA knew where Sydney was for the two years she was missing.

So what are y'alls thoughts and guesses for next season?

I have the feeling that Jack is not really Syndey's father and instead her entire childhood was a lie/false memory as her being part of Operation Christmas. Syndey is a government test (think "Dark Angel") and had even less control over her life than she originally thought.

Re your: 2. I'd love Irina to be the man too, but unfortunately, unless they recast the role (Lena Olin supposedly has no intention to EVER return) I can't see that being a huge story line.

Re your: 3. Of course Lauren isn't dead!!! No one ever dies on Alias!

Re your: 5. I thought S3 explained that Sydney was working with CIA for a good portion of the two years she was gone.

Wow, I never knew that Lena Olin has no intention of ever returning. Too bad. Grr to that.

Well I have never seen Dark Angel, so I can't make the comparison. So I understand you, are you saying that maybe Sydney isn't really Jack and Irina's daughter, she is just some kid that they "took in" as part of the Project Christmas operation.

As for Syd and the CIA, I meant for the 9 months prior to her contacting Kendall. That is what I think Lauren was talking about those 9 months before Sydney contacted anyone in the CIA. Because obviously after that, Jack, Kendall hell even Dixon knew that she wans't "dead".

What do y'all think is going to happen with Nadia and Sloane?

I speculate that since the show isn't starting until January that I'll lose interest in it over the next few months.

My dad , who is a bigger fan of the show Alias, says is because she is shooting a movie...well hell thats why you have hiatus/vacation....dont interruppt shooting for a movie....

I just heard that Alias will definitely be airing after Lost starting in January. ABC is still committed to running season 4 of Alias uninterrupted.

I think this is a good thing. Come on January!

Has anyone seen the new promos for the premiere! Two hours baby! That's a full-fledged Alias movie! Seriously can't wait -- absence has made my heart grow fonder of this show :)

My thought is that Will is Sydney's new boss. I think he will have a much more prominent part and role in the CIA this season.

That is my guess.

I know, I'm trying to remember the finale of last season and I really want to know what the document said that Sid was reading. Something is going to happen with her dad - not sure what. And I wonder about the whole Vaughn thing. Wednesday nights are going to be the best with both Lost and Alias on back to back!

I saw the preview, and I just don't know why the people on TWOP are all in a lather. It was "Meh" at best. And I'm really ticked that they've moved it to compete with the reinvigorated West Wing. :mad:

I think I'll catch the reruns over the summer, if ABC decides to run them.

Will? Will TIPPIN? They're bringing back Bradley Cooper for sure?!

Only six more days until we get to begin finding out if any of these speculations were on the money or not! :D

Since seeing "13 Going on 30", I heart Jennifer Garner so I'd like to start watching Alias. Is it the kind of show you can jump into and quickly learn who's who and what's what? Or is it like The "X" Files where, if you don't watch from the beginning you'll never catch up?

I started watching in season 2. I had to play catch-up. But, it wasn't too terribly difficult. I suggest going and renting the seasons available on dvd. Or, you might try going to spoilerfix.com. It will give you websites in addition to the spoilers they offer. These websites they list in their spoilers are good at giving background info on the show.

Another place to learn about Alias is at TV Tome where they have a general summary, then also break down each episode for all three seasons, and describe some of the "background" information (like the number 47). Otherwise, watching the seasons are another way to get into it, but thinking about how they ended Season 3, it seemed so different from the other seasons that I don't know how difficult it'll be to jump into Season 4.

Now that I've totally talked in random circles, I'm glad to see another person checking out Alias! :D

Yes, KR, you really need to learn the intricate details woven throughout Alias. That will definitely get you up to speed!

KR, like tippiechick said try to get the DVD's. All three seasons are available on DVD right now. I don't know if they are available for rent but I only paid like 45-46 dollars for a 6 DVD set. I would suggest if you are going to buy or rent one, go with season 3. I say that because whatever happened in seasons 1-2 will be touched upon and important but you know season 3 is what they will really be carrying off on.

If you were here in the Phoenix metro area I would totally let you borrow my DVD's. :)

ANyway, she told me to log onto www.authorizedpersonnelonly.net and type in the username amytippen (Syd's alias) and then use passwords like protection, passport and france . . .i just did it and it's really cool. All I can say is WOW :eek: I'm completely stunned, and am SO hooked back into this show. Every commercial break, I just started grinning, since I was so enthralled with what was going to happen next :)

Season 4 is *definitely* stepping up to meet expectations (so far!)

Although I'm fairly sure she could kill someone with her fake eyelashes. She's good, but underused so far. Her hair was all kinds of FIERCE though.

I am so not liking this wednesday nights deal! I have hockey wednesdays and my mum has choir. Grrrrrrrrrrr...she was so pissed last night that they are showing Alias on wednesdays that she's considering geting PVR (That's the Canadian version of Tivo).

Does anyone know if they will be replaying the season premier?

I watched all 3 seasons over the holidays at home with my parents...great way to catch up...i am now totally hooked and love love love the show.

I was totally shocked at some of the things that happenned in the show last night....and the death of Irina makes me wonder when we will meet the 3rd Derevko sister. Gotta be sometime soon.

I am glad that they brought marshall over - i would have been sad. Now just waiting for Weiss to come...i hope he does, then the whole gang will be there.

I think they are off to a good start with season 4 - though i still don't totally get what was on those papers at the end of season 3. i thought that they started when Sydney was born...but in season 4 we are told that its about her mom and dad....or did i miss something?

I think CTV plans to air it at 4 PM (eastern) this Sunday.

Love this show, LOVE Marshall (I could have a whole Marshall show and be very happy)! My favorite Marshall line was the "Sloane's here" one, too. :) I'm glad they're moving back towards the season 1 stuff and away from last season's nonsense.

I believe that Greg Grunberg is getting his own show, so he may not be on Alias for much longer...sorry! (I wish he would stay put though, they need him to lighten things up over at APO.)

Looks like the initial overnight ratings had Alias winning the 9pm hour and in 2nd to L&O in the 10pm hour. That's promising!

GG should be on most all season from what I'm hearing. I don't know that he'll be moving over to APO--I think that they'll have Weiss be part of Syd's "normal" life. Besides, it sounds like the Weiss/Nadia ship is sailing, folks, so when GG is off doing the other show he'll be back again. As long as we have Weiss, it's a good thing.

GreenKappa: the papers seem to pretty much be a dossier on Syd's existence. There was one page that documented that SpyDaddy murdered SpyMommy. Now, we know that SpyDaddy actually did this becase SpyMommy put a contract out of Syd's life. We also know that Uncle Arvin knew about all of this (from the scene where he asked SpyDaddy if Syd knew everything and SpyDaddy said no b/c Syd would be incapacitated--I think that's the word SpyDaddy used.)

Best Vaughn line: "It's because last year sucked!" Amen to that, sir!

My biggest questions after last night:

1. Why on earth did Lauren know about the papers in the SD box and did she know that there was a contract out on Syd's life?

OMG I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED last nights eppy.

I'm not sure about the whole Jack killing Irina because Irina but out a hit on her daughter. What is that about?!?

Seriously why the HECK would Irina put a contract on Sydney's life?

One minute she thinks her daughter is dead. The next she and Jack are trying to find Sydney and now she put a contract on her life?

Sadly I think it was a poor excuse to officially "write out" Irina because Lena Olin has said she doesn't want to do any guest stints. So it's like "lets kill her off".

Plus, why the heck did Sydney lie to Nadia. I get that she wants to protect her but she should have just told her the whole story. What she found out in Germany, what she found out from the assasin and what Jack told her. Then let Nadia make her own judgement call. Instead now Nadia is bent on revenge.

I have to say I was SHOCKED to see Sloane as a frickin team leader under a covert black operations of the CIA. Can we say SD-6 but under the CIA. Although it was cool to see Sloane back how he was in season 1. Plus, I loved Dixon and Syd as partners.

Did Dixon technically take a demotion? I mean he was head of the department last season and now it seems like he just a field agent again.

I absolutely loved the cover she gave Weiss and especially when he called her on it (SD-6). I truly hope he didn't "buy it".

They need to bring Weiss over. He's cool.

All about the Nadia and Weiss ship. ;)

All in all I thought it was a AWESOME episode. Can't wait til next week.

Didn't he say he likes the Field work better though and is happier out of the suit. Thats what I thought that they gave this explanation for.

Just thought of another question....will the Rimbaldi story line return and is the Convenant story out...or will that come back too?

I've heard they are completely done with those story lines.

Lauren may have known about the contract on Syd's life because she was in touch with Sark who was in touch with Derevko....???

So glad to see Weiss hanging with "the group"...maybe he'll become part of the team (and even if he is getting his own show, he could be a recurring member of the cast, right???)
