Latest poll: Bush 49, Kerry 2

America Online is conducting a state-by-state straw poll of its users. Currently, Bush holds the lead in 49 states, while Kerry is ahead in Vermont and the District of Columbia. If this were an actual election, Bush would win with 532 electoral votes, to 6 for Kerry.

DeltaBetaBaby 09-03-2004 10:30 PM

except for the fact that this poll is totally meaningless.

Kevin 09-03-2004 10:33 PM

Ah, if it could only be true.

America Online.. there's a representative sample. People who are willing to overpay for dialup.

The1calledTKE 09-03-2004 10:34 PM

No other poll agrees with that. Interesting.

PhiPsiRuss 09-04-2004 10:01 AM

ALL polls at this stage are useless and meaningless.

LOL. Wow. AOL is truth!

You have to admire AOL users though, I mean, they get shafted month after month from this company and yet, they remain loyal. After all, AOL is the intarweb.

Isn't consistently getting shafted and remaining loyal one of the bastions of working-class Republicanism? :p

Oh, but of course!

What's even worse? The people who think that the Republican tax cuts are going to actually help them, when in fact they're simply in denial about being working-class. To me, they are the NADIR of intelligence.

I think it was supposed to be NADER. But, NADIR, NADER, what's the difference?

"Isn't consistently getting shafted and remaining loyal one of the bastions of working-class Republicanism?"

No, it is the bastion of Democrat loving/voting:

1 - blacks
2 - teachers unions
3 - other unions

What have the Dems done for these groups, who consistently vote about 80 - 90 percent Dem?

Was that from another AOL user poll?

One could also ask what the Republicans have done for these groups.

I just feel like stirring stuff up to entertain me at work...

Um, duh, they've given Hoosier the love and acceptance he'll never find in a woman.

Can't people who can't find a woman just buy an inflatable one? Why involve political parties? :p

Because Democrats want to tax your inflatable woman, and Republicans want to let you count her as a dependent.

Almost the perfect definition of the two parties. Brilliant.

PS: I once dated a DZ - even took her to the Red Carnation Ball, as I remember it. Still have the pictures.

I once tried to find my GLO's chapter at Marquette, but the magazine's directory had confused the city of Marquette, MI, with Marquette Univ.

hoosier 09-05-2004 01:59 AM

Another great signature

"So okay, I don't want to be a traitor to my generation and all but I don't get how guys dress today. I mean, come on, it looks like they just fell out of bed and put on some baggy pants and take their greasy hair - ew - and cover it up with a backwards cap and we're supposed to swoon? I don't think so. "

I also think it's strange that these boys who love to show us their boxers and talk sex and buy from websites and firms which sell sexy stuff are too shy to shower with their teammates after a game.

I'm not a DZ, I'm actually a GPhi - but one of my comrades is a DZ, which could lead to the confusion. ;)

And if you are what I think you are (love, charity, esteem), your chapter here is dormant.

hoosier 09-05-2004 02:06 AM

That's me

Esteem and love, and all that.

moe.ron 09-05-2004 03:09 AM

This is a very random topic.

That would be a quote from the 1994 movie Clueless, starring Alicia Silverstone. Who cares if they are too shy to shower with their teammates after a game? Also there was no mention of sex in my signature, or implications that they are buying sexy stuff. I think someone has sex on the brain!
