Looks like the sistas may have a shot this time. Let's hope they are all level-headed and don't put Omarosa or Camille to shame in the b*tch department.

I'm Glad that there are more sistas this time around. I agree and I hope that they are not like Camille or Ebony (first season). I love that show and I can't wait until it comes on again. That last girl don't look black. And I wish they would put more then one plus size girl per season cause I only see one again.

Yeah I'm glad we are represented in a variety of shades. I doubt they would ever have a plus sized model on this show.

Sorry to crash but I am SO excited about the great mix of women they've got this time! It should be awesome! And I am very pleased that they are reppin' the Indian girls (finally)!

If you are expecting someone who looks like Mo'Nique.

Ford Models classifies plus as someone who is size 10-20. Basically, the market that the now-defunct Mode and Grace fashion magazines catered to. Crystal Renn, who is appearing in Saks Salon Z's campaign, is about a size 14. What bugs me is that she's 18, and as someone who is pushing hard on 40, I don't want to see how clothes look on someone young enough to be my daughter.

Toccara is the contestant considered plus size at 5'9" 180 lbs.

That's about a size 14-16. I'm in that range, and as I posted before, that's what the industry considers plus-size. Yes, the industry is skewed, but that's life.

On the commercials they show Toccarra saying "You girls better watch out because big is in!". I think the black girls are cute. Norelle has bones sticking out. That is never attractive. I anticipate the new season. I hope Nigel is still on there with his cute self.

i'm pulling for Toccarra since she's from Dayton, OH (the 2nd from the area) which is near me. realistically, well, i don't think she'll go all the way, her look isn't that widely accepted...

OK. I thought it was just me. I love Nigel. He is flamingly flambouyant but I just LOVE him. He tells it like it t-i-is. He walks better than I do in a pair of heels.

Toccarra will have a career. She probably could do Lane Bryant or if she does catalog work, Saks and Bloomingdale's have separate 14-24 catalogs that have decent fashions.

:confused: Nigel is the photographer judge who we never see walk. He seems pretty hetero to me. I think you have him confused with the Black man who is very flaming but his name escapes me.

Nigel seems pretty un-hetero to me. He is not as flambouyant as J. Alexander but I think they are riding in the same boat.

I cannot remember if I diagnosed him as hetero or un-hetero last spring when a lot of the GC women were fawning over Nigel. I was not one of them. :D

I am sooooooo excited for a new round of drama. I missed the finale last season, b/c I was out of town and the d#$% hotel didn't get UPN. :(

This show, along with Nip/Tuck and The Amazing Race, has become one of must watch shows. I'll be on vacation during the premiere, but I will be TiVo'ing it. :D

gosh, i had no idea he was gay. that's ok...he's still soooo cute.

after watching Kamaro (sic) on RW-Philly, i can't say for certain WHAT Nigel is (i have to check my "Gaydar"):p at any rate, he's very easy on the eyes. i liken him to Tom Ford, formerly of Gucci who is gay.
also, i do hope they bring Jay Alexander back as well as the stylist w/the pet. they were quite amusing:D

I loved this 1st ep. I cried when Tiffany told her story and got cut but when Amanda said she was legally blind, I really cried.

I am so glad Tyra got on Eva; I want to like her but I hope she does not become another Camille.

Soror MeezDiscreet, I know we have never met but I see you when I see Toccarra. She is very beautiful to me and just seems very cool and down to eath. I hope she goes far in the competition.

My favorites are Toccara, Yaya, and Amanda.

Dang, I just KNEW this thread was gonna be on and poppin' today.

I also cried when the girl said that she would be completely blind in less than 5 years. I think her eyes are really beautiful.

I really like YaYa and Eva, if she can lose the 'tude. Eva is really pretty, but now that I think about it I don't like her hair. Everytime I see her hair it reminds me of Kramer from Seinfeld.

I don't think I like Kelly at all. Not because of the way she is, but because she reminds me of a girl I went to HS with. :rolleyes:

Toccara better work it out!! I really like her attitude.

J. Alexander still keeps me rolling with his commentary. I was CTFU when Tyra said she calls his Mrs. J.

And what about the girl from Miami who had the beer poured over her head. :o :eek: Okay, see I don't care what was going on at that moment, but I would have wanted to fight and in that situation I don't blame her at all.

I can see this season will have me hooked. Too bad I have to tape it every week. :(

I was very glad when Tyra told Eva that she didn't want to cast another "black bitch", although I didn't believe it. That keeps people tuning in.

Anyway, I'm glad to see more people of color. Especially Kelle, who happens to have skin of a darker hue, which is rarely considered beautiful by society's standards. I think she's cute.

I also thought ol' girl was a man!!! I was really sad when she told the girls about her disability. I hope the girls don't use that against her to get her off the show.

Eva, I love everything about her except the attitude. I loved her hair!! She just spells America's Next Top Model to me. I hope that she doesn't revert to those old ways by the time she show gets good.

Ya Ya is a very pretty girl. I love her because she's your typical African American girl! I hope she gets far in the competition.

I'm just so pleased with the line up this year. We have women of all ethnicities, so I don't really have any favorites yet.

The girl from Miami had me rolling the ENTIRE SHOW! I loved the fact that she was ready for change in her life. I hate that she had to go back and face that harsh reality. I pray that she gets away from all of that negativity.

The first episode was OFF THE HOOK!

THAT's WHAT HER HAIR reminded me of. I kept thinking her hair is not natural. I want Eva to not be Camille so badly.

That weave was hella atrocious. She reminded me of a former student, weave and all, minus the whole fighting thing. I am not a fighter but I would have been kicking some tail THAT NIGHT!!!

I thought too because I saw minutiae evidence of breasts. Her EYES are GORGEOUS though. :(

I'm the outcast because I like Camille. I thought Eva was wrong for the way she went about telling the girl that she looked "nasty." She ain't neva lied, but the approach was all wrong. :o I think that Eva is cute and she has a good chance.

I am upset that Tiffany didn't get picked because this might have been the break that she needed. She had the best "sob story" of all. The girl from Backatown, MN and that stripper didn't impress me. :rolleyes: I hope that Tiffany can really do something better with her life. I hope that someone sees her and reaches out to her.

Watching this show, I've discovered how much I really like Tyra Banks. She seems warm, straightforward, and down-to-earth. It must have been terribly hard to break the bad news to the second set of girls who had to go home but she handled it well. She even comforted that girl with the weird hair and the weird teeth in the bathroom.

How about my LS has me watching this now!!! She came over to hang out and was like "Let's watch America's Next Top Model"!!! I just have to say that I've got a jones for this show now!!!!! And.....I LOVE EVA & AMANDA!!!!! This is going to be a very interesting show!!!!
