In this thread we keep score on how many threads/posts are deleted!

I can't count how many posts and threads of mine have been deleted. :( Sooooo....I will start fresh this evening. :)

At this point I have one post deleted!

valkyrie 08-30-2004 08:48 PM

I bet if you tell us what was in that post, you'll have 2.

Peaches-n-Cream 08-30-2004 08:50 PM

I wonder what you wrote, Dionysus.

Let's test valkyrie's theory and repost the deleted post. ;)

Dammit, you already beat me to it.

But see, if you're going to post something like that, you have to do it in a forum without a delete-happy mod. :)

Great minds think alike! ;)

I think that this thread will be deleted very soon.

Tippiechick 08-30-2004 10:36 PM

Well, you can count 1 whole thread and a total of 6 posts all in the rush forum for me.

:)
ETA: I now have an additional 3 posts to add to that count. I did not see that the agitated mod thread had been deleted. I'm really racking up!

Imperial1 08-30-2004 10:38 PM

Well just before my last 2 posts were deleted, there were about 2 or 3 threads in which me and 2 other people posted in and made people mad that were deleted. So that's about 5 in all.

Not all forums have mods. :p

And not all forums have threads or posts in them either. :)

Yes, No, and Maybe!

Mods do not normally delete posts unless there is a problem poster. Maybe a Stictly Bad Thread that gets out of hand.

Now, I wonder if the question is Who Are The Posters who complain so much? Etu Bruta? Alas Poor Yourick, doth you spake to much?:D

Aimed at No One in Patarticular, just for Grins!:D

Sister Havana 08-31-2004 01:12 AM

A couple when some threads were deleted...the Round Two thread was the last one. (I had fun smileys there too!)

I am just not very controversial. :p

Wow, 12 hours it lasted.

I can't believe it, people must have been tending to their lives, or their children, or their jobs.....

GeekyPenguin 08-31-2004 09:30 AM

Y'all, I'm getting pretty sick of this too. I think I've deleted two threads in the Gamma Phi Beta forum, if that, since I became a mod of that forum. Don't lump us all together. I think the Chit Chat and Greek Life mods are doing an awesome job. :)

Kevin 08-31-2004 09:59 AM

I think I've had one of my threads deleted.

But that was at least a year ago.

The mod who did it is no longer a mod.

ZTAngel 08-31-2004 10:04 AM

We're not all delete-happy moderators. I think I've deleted/locked two or three threads in the D&R forum which is pretty good considering some of the content in that forum. ;) I think I locked maybe one thread in the ZTA forum. The only time I delete individual posts is when someone reports it.

I really believe that most of the moderators are doing a great job and aren't quick to delete everything.

DeltAlum 08-31-2004 10:16 AM

As someone pointed out, whether to delete or not is a judgement call and not all moderators think alike. In addition, some forums (this one for instance) are much busier than others.

For me, the final decision rests on whether there is a TOS violation, which is why I posted it at the head of the forum.

Sometimes, though, I wish childishness was a TOS violation.

Dionysus 08-31-2004 01:24 PM

Don't worry Geeky and ZTAngel, I'm not talking about you guys. The rush mods are delete happy (obviously) and one of the Chit Chat mods are delete happy (not so obvious). Who is that CC mod? I don't know.

Imperial1 08-31-2004 02:09 PM

Well that's 2 more of my posts deleted. Count em up. There was no reason to delete my posts.

Rudey 08-31-2004 02:14 PM

I don't understand why my posts which were in a thread that was a joke from the start were deleted along with Bobby's. There were at least 4 I think deleted.

They didn't violate any rule. A moderator says they were sexual. Evidently bringing up Michael Jackson is sexual. Great.

The posts were deleted because someone was looking for a reason to delete them and not because they hurt anyone, upset anyone, or violated some rule. Pick your fights and stop acting as if this is some sort of Amish internet fest while offensive posts trying to upset people are allowed to exist.

Amish people are on the interweb? That's the scariest thing I've heard all day. Maybe we can delete their posts too.

Um, hello? I delete very few posts and usually it's at the behest of the post originator, who no longer has access to delete the post him- or herself. Many of the recruitment posts you are complaining about lately I haven't even seen.

Let's be fair here...

Don't worry, Barb - you're not really anybody until people start threads and LJ entries about you and your family.... I don't think that these people are talking about you - they are just looking for YET another way to wage war against someone who they don't like, and continually try to piss off just for the sake of being mean (and then they turn around and act shocked that others would think they were being mean) - let me do the surprised look for you **SHOCKED** (complete with hand to chest and the "who me?" look on the face).

Glad to know I'm a nobody. I think I prefer it that way.

With age comes wisdom...lol.

I'm curious as to why your posts get deleted as well.

KSig RC 09-01-2004 03:09 AM

i'm only posting in this thread to keep up my string of being in every totally immature thread on this site. well done, moderators, for looking like asses by stooping to a level you claim to abhor. bravo.

your collective wisdom is a boon to the rest of us.

Well, heat has never been hard to handle so some people with "special powers" tend to use those powers when it gets a little too cold and act like they don't know what happened.
